Sweet fossil finds HuntingRocks, you got the bait fish, and then bam! you caught the whopper! Thanks for showing us your hunt.
Yeah man I never looked at it like that haha ... Next year I need to bring it back and do like I always do fishing , I tell the little fish to go get his daddy so I can have a real fight 🤣
Such a awesome place to go!! The fossils are just amazing, I really like how they got the saw there, such a good idea. The best jig saw puzzle ever😆 the little one's are very cute 😍 you definitely came home with some beauties
It's such an amazing place. If you guys ever get over to the states as rockhounds I can not recomend this place enough you guys would lose your minds 😆
Love the one you had the measuring tape on!!! Do you know why so many dead fish there? I would think most small fish would get eaten. But I know nothing about nothing.
So there are a couple of things they think lead to there being so many the 1st being cold conditions lead to smaller airbladders making the fish sink faster at death, the other being anoxic conditions which would cause large die offs from time to time.. the big one I found is a Diplomystus, and they have been found with large fish in their mouths so large it actually choked them to death, and both fish hit the bottom and were covered interestingly enough you can sort of tell when the giant lake began to dry up because you will also find shallow water animals and even mammals like miniature horses and bats there. Though they are rare it is very much worth the hunt. I can not Highly recomend American Fossil quarry enough even if you only ever go once
Such a cool place! Great advice on the hat too man. Ya know I NEVER used to wear a hat. That changed after a few long days at Haunted Ridge. Also Ashley had melanoma that's how we met actually! Sound advice brother. LOL I dunno man Hamilton might still be scared of the fish. Silly dog I can't wait to see his rockhounding debut
I need to do a video at some point, maybe this winter, about tools and safety gear.. I ended up getting a lightweight hoodie just to keep the sun off of me melanoma is no joke ... and I know for a fact Hamilton would freak the first fish that popped out he would do spins 😆
Liz says this is the only kind of fishing that beats the real thing. Nice catches! It's great that they have saws out there to use. One happy day for the fossil man.
Those saws are so nice ... and if you have one that you can't carry over they have a hand held saw they will come out and cut your fish out of the rock for you
First! Woot!! Woot!!!
Awesome adventure Jeff !! THanks for sharing.
Thank you 😊 this place has become one of my favorites ... just wish I lived closer to it
Nice fossils ! THanks Jeff.
Thank you very much
Thanks for sharing the adventure, Master Jeff.
Always my pleasure .. did you get my email by chance
@@huntingrocks I kept meaning to check, but forgot. I just sent a reply. Thank you, sir.
@@valiantwarrior4517 Hey no worries I dont always trust emails to go through so I like to ask, I really am like one beard away from being Amish 🤣
@@huntingrocks Honestly, that lifestyle is really tempting sometimes. Unfortunately, I feel like I’m missing half my limbs if I’m not connected to the world.
Wow! Amazing fossils!
Thank you ... if you ever get the chance go it's an amazing place
@@huntingrocks it’s on my bucket list but I’m currently disabled after an auto accident.
That's never a good thing, I hope you mend well and fast... but on the plus side besides the little bit bumpy road out there it seems to be very handicapped accessible which is an awesome thing... I need to put that in more of my videos, I know my buddy Noah from Mobile Outdoor is always looking for places
