Canad also has: Revenge, Blasphemy, Axis of Advance, Mitochondrion, Adversarial, Antediluvian, so yeah, it's my favorite for black metal because of these masterful bands
***** They all sound different. Born Of Osiris sounds different from Suicide Silence, wich sounds different from Thy Art Is Murder, wich sounds different from Clelsea Grin, etc.
***** I'm with you Harvest, I don't like Deathcore myself (expect some songs but whatever) but you can't deny that it's just as generic or diverse as other genres of metal. Death and Black metal both have all those small bands who just sound the same but also very good bands who just sound different, not to other people, but to fans they do. so you keep on listening what you want man. rock it with pride
@Hitchhikeroftheyear Sorry dude, but Venom really was the first black metal band out there. The fact that they black metal after it changed the sound does not take away the fact that they were the first ones.
Thank you Infidel, as always it was a pleasure to watch you video. I would like to thank you for your tips of Disturbed and Eluveitie, they are now added to my "to buy list"
I love watching these videos and being able to hear and learn about new kinds of metals and other peoples opnions of metal. Even if it's in the comments as well, I definetly just love being involved in the metal community... thanks ed \m/
I couldn't help but notice 'Descend Into Depravity' in the background. It's definitely one of the best and most consistent metal albums I've ever heard. Really good choice. I think it's cool that you mentioned "Dig"; that's one of the songs that got me into metal in the first place. I still enjoy Mudvayne.
really good Q&A and i really enjoyed the part were you showed the bands from canada and the other bands you like apart from death metal since i didn't know some of those bands!!! also you are right that some metalheads react too much against nu metal, and it's wrong not only because everybody is entitled to express himself as he wants but also because lots of people start their journey into metal music from these type of bands!! Keep up the good work Ed \m/
Pretty awesome you mentioned LD50, Mudvayne was one of the bands that really opened me up to the world of metal. Some might have called it my "gateway drug"
gotta love how 4 of the 5 canadian metal bands you stated are from Quebec and perhaps french! Also the ex-bassist of augury is the current one of beyond creation!
Hey guys, can someone recommend me some symphonic metal bands? I'm growing really fond of that genre. Also, name me your favourite songs from the bands that are recommended. :)
A mention on Canadian Metal, Mechanism is a little side project of Gene Hoglan and Chris Valagao, I think it's really cool. I also discovered a band called Beyond Creation and the guitarist of Cryptopsy did some work with them. Their only release, The Aura, I think is really catchy, but it's the overall instrumental unit is what drew me to like them.
i had a thought that you don't like any genres out of death/black metal except a few. but wow man i do respect you that you don't care about what people says about a kind of music, you just listen to what you want and respect what others listen. you're great really and btw disturbed is my fucking favorite ;)
Infidel, have you heard of Rebellion? A great German power metal band, worth noting IMO. Lyrics of their most recent albums are about Nordic mythology and Scandinavian folklore, lore and history. Learned a lot from them.
Loved L.D.50, still do, and Disturbed was my middle school soundtrack. My heart skipped a beat when I saw you have Audioslave! My step dad and I are huge fans! I was curious if you also like Soundgarden and Mastodon.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS MuDvAyNe L.D 50 is one of the greatest CDs ever written in my opinion. When you pulled out that CD I got so happy. Love the videos man! \m/
everyone thats in to your music should look at your videos. im in to metal but not the same as you. i like heaven shall burn, the devil wear prada, august burns red and so on. but i still love to look at your videos. keep up the good work man.
So a really quick question here : what do you think of the latest wintersun cd? (Time I) and what's there in death/black metal that makes you love theses genres? Cheers
Hi Ed, nice to see another Q&A.. Speaking of Canadian Metal bands I'm suprised you didn't mention Cryptopsy, they are right up your street, Melodic Death Metal, I'm pretty sure they hail from Canada but either way they have (or used to have, in my opinion) a great sound with Lord Worm as their vocalist.. crazy fella but hey, great music. What are your opinions on them may I ask? James :)
I know ive posted this comment on a few of your other videos but i just really want to know do you like slipknot... Loads of people always argue that theyre not metal and i just wanted to know what you think of them. Also do you like Lupara or Gojira?
Hey Ed, so I read from one of the comments that someone asked you how did all this youtube thing started... and I think is a cool idea to make a video for... just my opinion. And I was wondering do you like Mastodon?
hey ed, i know you recently got some White Wizzard cds from Eareache records and i was wondering what you thought of the new wave of traditional metal that has kind of come out of no where or if you were even much aware of it. bands like White Wizzard, Holy Grail, Cauldron, Steelwing, Icarus Witch, SkullFist, and so many more. just wondering what your thoughts on these bands is, Thanks
@Hitchhikeroftheyear Trust me dude, I got almost every album...just got their newest this week. 'Black metal' was the very first song I ever heard. I would not bullshit you just to be right in this...;-)
Ed, Thank you for your open mindedness. i love Mudvayne and i was ecstatic when i heard you like Disturbed. They've been one of my favorite bands since i was a kid. I was just curious. What do you think about Gojira? or the band Mushroomhead?
wow dude. i loved ur coffe muk colection. also your cd collectin awesome! i know album you showed up in this vid but i dont got these albums in my room.. where do you buy ur cds?
@Infidelamsterdam I don't know when you're doing the other Q&A video, but I have a question: I know you're familiar with Swedish Death Metal because in some of your videos I've heard you mention Amon Amarth and Dark Tranquility, so what's your opinion on Opeth, that is if you've heard them?
[QUESTION] 1. What do you think about djent (for example Meshuggah etc.)? 2. What do you think about polish death metal band? Vader vs Behemoth vs Decapitated. Who would win in your personal ranking?
I never said they HAVE superior morals. I said it's strange that these people judge others when they themselves are always judged. They do to others what they hate when people do it to them
Glad to hear that you like Disturbed, I fucking love 'em. Every album they released is pure class from beginning to end. They certainly don't do filler tracks!
What's your opinion on Cryptopsy? Their newer stuff isn't that good but None So Vile is one of the most insane death metal albums to come out of Canada, in my opinion.
I just wanted to know, what do you think of Metal bands like Metallica, Slayer and also bands like Slipknot because I've heard you talk a lot about bands in the death-core genre or death metal genre but never heard what you think about Nu-Metal or Heavy metal. Thanks :)
@Infidelamsterdam I think he means that it's brilliant that you like them, and so do I! It's so great when there are metalheads who like bands like Decapitated and Dawn of Demise but also like the not to brutal stuff like Mudvayne and Disturbed!
Is the vocalist of disturbed the only reason you like them? I'm just curious. I used to be a fan of them back in my younger days, but after my music taste kind of expanded out of the radio and into the vastness of the internet, I don't enjoy them as much. The only reason I recall liking them is because of the singer, and nothing else besides the bass lines in their older B-sides. But nothing comes across as memorable as David's voice. Do you find anything else enjoyable about them?
Hey Ed Do you believe that Marijuana/Cannabis should be legalised across the globe, not just in Amsterdam? As a Stoner/Sludge/Doom Metaller, i'm very curious!
I have to ask you something...im mostly in to death and folk metal ex:Amon Amarth, Battlesoul, Nordheim...But what do you think of Windir? I personaly think that they are awesome :)
Hey thanks for the response on the video!! If you get a chance to broaden the horizon of Canadian metal, I'd suggest to you Negativa, its like a technical super-group of Gorguts, Ion Dissonance and Augury. Cheers!
2 Questions; 1) Can you please write out the names of the bands you mentioned in this video, I can't understand people that well, 2) You said you like Nu Metal. What is your opinion on Slipknot?
Ever hear of The Agonist? I'm not sure if it's pure Canadian, but the singer, Alissa White-Gluz is Canadian, but they are a fantastic melodic death metal band if you haven't heard of them already.
I don't really know what to ask... Do you think Max Cavalera was better in his last years with Sepultura or the beginning of Soulfly? When he started doing the groove thing. Also, do you like Megadeth?
What else do you listen to, expect of metal? And what do you think of Melodic Hardcore Bands like No Fun At All, Strike Anywhere and Rise Against (first 2 Albums) ?
There isn't a lot of "death metal vocals" instructional videos out on youtube, and of the scream/growl videos that are out there, most of them are not very good. I was wondering if you could do a sorta short instructional video on vocals (I don't know if you have one or not, I couldn't find one on your channel) that would focus on exhale squeals, I can't seem to get exhaled squeals at all, just inhaled.
hey ed, ik heb direct al weer een vraag :P.. Waar koop jij je cd's? ik woon in een dorp met een freerecordshop maar daar hebben ze amper metal cd's.. weet jij een winkel of site waar ze een groot aanbod metal hebben?
Hey,NICE Metal coffee mug collection! Awesome channel!
@TadyZaZ
Extended words are being said in the promotion video's.
I have a limited time to fill in the video so I can expand too much about it
Canad also has: Revenge, Blasphemy, Axis of Advance, Mitochondrion, Adversarial, Antediluvian, so yeah, it's my favorite for black metal because of these masterful bands
000 000 woah, Mitochondrion, theyre brutal
000 000 Do you follow Odium Nostrom's channel?
@Sneedbeard1
The day I posted this I bought no. 19....;-)
00:30 - 01:00
That's what I call multitasking!
Okay, I just got finished watching the first minute of the show, and the way you present your humor improving. Actual laughter was produced!
Hey Infidel, I have a question, what deathcore bands do you like?
***** Ew my ass, Deathcore is as great as other metal genres.
And I already know the answer to that question. He likes JFAC, Despised Icon and Oceano.
***** Oh really? And Death Metal isn't generic?
***** They all sound different. Born Of Osiris sounds different from Suicide Silence, wich sounds different from Thy Art Is Murder, wich sounds different from Clelsea Grin, etc.
***** Nope, I can distinguish them, because they're all different.
@JMCfromNEWb
How known is Cryptopsy and how known is beyond creation?
Why would I always name the big and obvious names?
Most sexy shower scene ever, I think so
the perfect coffee making tutorial for anyone (but me...) ! BTW, one of the best intros you've made, Ed !! Excellent !!! Keep on going !
@Hitchhikeroftheyear
Sorry dude, but Venom really was the first black metal band out there.
The fact that they black metal after it changed the sound does not take away the fact that they were the first ones.
Thank you Infidel, as always it was a pleasure to watch you video. I would like to thank you for your tips of Disturbed and Eluveitie, they are now added to my "to buy list"
@DeathHeretik
I never said all the questions purely have to be about metal.
@K0sm1cKid
I like their death metal album, but their newer stuff turned into utter shit.
I love watching these videos and being able to hear and learn about new kinds of metals and other peoples opnions of metal. Even if it's in the comments as well, I definetly just love being involved in the metal community... thanks ed \m/
I have a couple yeah, and I am a diehard fan of 'Majesty and decay'....flawless album
@ArchEnemySlayer
You're right I don't have that in my collection
I really dig your view on what kind of music a band would want to play. An open mind like that is a wonderful thing.
Yeah I quited using that not long after this video...
really good Q&A and i really enjoyed the part were you showed the bands from canada and the other bands you like apart from death metal since i didn't know some of those bands!!! also you are right that some metalheads react too much against nu metal, and it's wrong not only because everybody is entitled to express himself as he wants but also because lots of people start their journey into metal music from these type of bands!! Keep up the good work Ed \m/
Yeah soms songs are really good.
@raokin466
Send me an inbox message with your e-mail and I will send it to you...;-)
Hell yeah, I also have Ozzy and Motorhead in my collection
Pretty awesome you mentioned LD50, Mudvayne was one of the bands that really opened me up to the world of metal. Some might have called it my "gateway drug"
gotta love how 4 of the 5 canadian metal bands you stated are from Quebec and perhaps french! Also the ex-bassist of augury is the current one of beyond creation!
@Hitchhikeroftheyear
Because the first two bands you mention are really not my taste.
Yeah, thanks for making these videos, Ed. You really know how to connect with your audience. The first scene was hilarious. : D
@Cymbidium91
Q&A answer for ya?
Hey guys, can someone recommend me some symphonic metal bands? I'm growing really fond of that genre. Also, name me your favourite songs from the bands that are recommended. :)
1: Fleshgod Apocalypse
2: Dimmu Borgir (of course)
3: Septic flesh
you may also like be'lakor even though they are not symphonic.
Answer now or save it for a Q&A?...;-)
A mention on Canadian Metal, Mechanism is a little side project of Gene Hoglan and Chris Valagao, I think it's really cool. I also discovered a band called Beyond Creation and the guitarist of Cryptopsy did some work with them. Their only release, The Aura, I think is really catchy, but it's the overall instrumental unit is what drew me to like them.
@skyfall001
Correct, but they have had their own entire video, thse other bands didn't,
@mojototal
I think that people know after I promoted the band Essence, that I like thrash.
i had a thought that you don't like any genres out of death/black metal except a few.
but wow man i do respect you that you don't care about what people says about a kind of music, you just listen to what you want and respect what others listen. you're great really
and btw disturbed is my fucking favorite ;)
@Kirril1 yeah only up to the cd 'mutter' everything after that really sucked imo
I have no idea what else to cal it
I'm glad that I'm not the only metal head kid
Infidel, have you heard of Rebellion? A great German power metal band, worth noting IMO.
Lyrics of their most recent albums are about Nordic mythology and Scandinavian folklore, lore and history.
Learned a lot from them.

Cheers
@99drummerboy99
I heard of them but it's not really my band
What I love is that you make your videos interesting and funny as hell! Love em all!\m/
It's funny how people always say "it's not metal" but they never say what it is then according to them...
@FinallHit
Sorry those are not really my kinda bands
Hi Ed, nice to see another Q&A.. Speaking of Canadian Metal bands I'm suprised you didn't mention Cryptopsy, they are right up your street, Melodic Death Metal, I'm pretty sure they hail from Canada but either way they have (or used to have, in my opinion) a great sound with Lord Worm as their vocalist.. crazy fella but hey, great music. @Hitchhikeroftheyear
Over rated how? By others? It's is just what you think it is...I don't care how others rate a certain genre or band.
I am a big Eluveitie fan. Very happy that you listen to them.
This is why I like Your channel so much. Always there is something interesting inside. Cheers.
@TheFreakzi
I have a few cd's yeah
Just found your channel infidel mate and am totally hooked. Thanks for the videos.
hey ed, i know you recently got some White Wizzard cds from Eareache records and i was wondering what you thought of the new wave of traditional metal that has kind of come out of no where or if you were even much aware of it. bands like White Wizzard, Holy Grail, Cauldron, Steelwing, Icarus Witch, SkullFist, and so many more.

@Nickemericalover123
Here in Holland we always say, 'better late then never'....
Ed!
I've watched you Q&A's, and I have yet to see a question regarding Power Metal. What's your opinion on bands like Blind Guardian and Stratovarius?
@ThrashOmega
Kreator, Slayer, Anthrax, Annihilator, Evile, Exeloume, Testement, Essence,
@Hitchhikeroftheyear
Trust me dude, I got almost every album...just got their newest this week.
@crazyLocko
My knowledge about that is too small to form a solid opinion about that.
another great video, do you happen to dig any post, sludge or doom metal bands? im a huge fan of those, cheers man!
wow dude.
i loved ur coffe muk colection.
also your cd collectin awesome! i know album you showed up in this vid but i dont got these albums in my room.. where do you buy ur cds?

They're good but I am not the biggest fan of them
I just wanted to know, what do you think of Metal bands like Metallica, Slayer and also bands like Slipknot because I've heard you talk a lot about bands in the death-core genre or death metal genre but never heard what you think about Nu-Metal or Heavy metal. Thanks :)
This guy.... One of the most intelligent people on youtube. He actually knows what he is talking about.
Thanks for recommending Beyond Creation! Such an awesome album.
If I had to say whether it's metal or not I would say yes...
Awesome you like Disturbed I personally love them to bits. Great singer and great guitarist.
i lold hard when i saw your coffee mug collection, they are awesome!
@BeatySword
Check the spreadshirt link...;-)
@Infidelamsterdam I think he means that it's brilliant that you like them, and so do I! It's so great when there are metalheads who like bands like Decapitated and Dawn of Demise but also like the not to brutal stuff like Mudvayne and Disturbed!

2 Questions;

2) You said you like Nu Metal. What is your opinion on Slipknot?
Loved it when you brought up Disturbed! Great band! They got me into metal and other heavy genres!!
Ever hear of The Agonist? I'm not sure if it's pure Canadian, but the singer, Alissa White-Gluz is Canadian, but they are a fantastic melodic death metal band if you haven't heard of them already.
just noticed that in the list of Canadian bands you didn't mention Anvil, do you like them? :p
I have a question: What do you think of Insomnium?
It's my favorite band at the moment and i'd like to know. :)
I don't really know what to ask... Do you think Max Cavalera was better in his last years with Sepultura or the beginning of Soulfly? When he started doing the groove thing.
Also, do you like Megadeth?
Do you like/appreciate any progressive rock from the 70's-80's? For example Rush is one of my favorite bands atm.

Because?.....
Nope, not my game
Hey man!
I just want to know if you're doing any outdoor activities like camping, hiking, hunting, fishing etc.?
Disturbed is the last band I'd think you'd listen to! But great, I do enjoy some of their songs! Much respect to you for being so open-minded!
What is the song you used as the outro in this video? The one that kicks in right at 14:50?
do you have a dethklok mug? the kind the band members in metalocalypse use? They are skulls with their hair on them and stuff.
i dont even like as much metal as you do but I find your videos pretty cool
Hey Infidel, i've got a question for you.
"what reasons would you name up, if someone would ask you why you listen to, or are in metal or deth metal?"
