The story? One cold December's night (yes, really!) between Christmas and Hogmanay, we were in the pub at Glenkindie and a friend asked if we'd ever been to the ringing stone. A journey in a land rover later on, and we were wandering around the moor with some dowsing rods. I was handed the rods and walked round the stone and they crossed with a strong pull at north, south, east and west. We were told the stone was on a ley line.
Hi! It is in Scotland somewhere off the A939 I think on a road that you take to get from Strathdon to Ballater. It's the only stone I know of, but I do recall that googling for "ringing stone" gets you a couple of other similar stones - one I think is in the Hebrides or Outer Hebrides.
I have found a similar stone in the local river here in Sweden, a smaller one but with the same noice, I took the stone and threw it on har granit block and it did not even get a scratch on it but the granit did brooke...what is it?? anybody knows? IT IS NOT JUST a simple stone as one said here before!
Not believing this, and thinking that it was surely just a strongly magnetic stone, I went off and walked a larger circle round it, about 200metres from the stone and the rods still went crazy! There is possibly some cup marks on the stone and the straight line up and down the stone may not be natural.
its call dolerite i belive.. and im not sure where its native from but i know it doesnt belong their.. also note the grooves in the stone.. those are man made and if it is doelrite the its also very very old..
Poor wee spider probably got a headache lol 😂 great video x
I've been to this stone several times. Very cool and a bit spooky. A wee dram at the Coilacriech Inn with Willie Meston is a good idea after a visit.
I remember it well. The locals call it "The Ringing Steen of Richachary."
