It really is random, haha. I am just eyeing it off, hoping it will look nice :) I look at the little head, imagining the face and somehow I find the place to start. It is usually slightly underneath the eye line, so the eye will sit fairly even on the eye line. I mostly go over the eye twice, so I always have another chance to correct any irregularities :)

Hi Kathrin, I did not tie a knot when getting started. I did, however, tie the knots at the end, when I pulled the needle through to the top of the head again. I am tying the knots on top of the head.

What cloth do you use? Ive no interest personally so not gonna watch videos but my wife, who can't speak English asked me and I don't know
