I had 105029 '59 A, and had it massaged, if you will, by the original, Gary Emory.
I have a great deal of memory and admiration for both the car and Gary.
That 356 looks wonderful! I drove a friend's 356 Super 90 Cabrio in Germany once and while it was fun you were also conscious of just how small these cars are.
Porsche was my favorite car as a kid and I still love them but the closest I ever got was my 65 Corsa turbo in 71. Wish I still had it!!
My favorite cars are Singer, RUF, Emory and Günter Werks Porsches. Those are the visionary most amazing tuners that just take a fantastic product to the extreme in every aspect.
Fantastic video. The museum is in my bucket list.
SINGER all day long... and twice on sunday!!! :)))
Two very special cars, thanks for sharing them with us!
That Singer is one of my all time dream cars. Unfortunately I don't have a million dollars just sitin' round.
356 Emory & 911 Singer: the perfect couple
Love that he's wearing a jacket and bow tie.
I don't believe I've ever seen Donald without his signature apparel. If I did, I didn't recognize him. He brings the style with him wherever he goes.
So now I need to better understand what a "restomod" is. Always, so well done.
I often drove southern Germany -->Poland-->Germany. 2000 km in 30 hrs. In my 944 s2 very comfortable.
Fantastic review!
I love these videos!
Great video!
Very nice comparison. Both are exquisite Porsche's.
Well done! thank you so much!
Fantastic and fair video. loved it.
THAT Bruce Dickinson?
Wow, guy's a genius, or at least a true Renaissance Man...!
I love both cars...they are amazing.
Great review.☺️you have such a relaxing speaking voice 👍
Love them both❤️
Both are the best at their respective builds.
The flat 6 sounds gorgeous very similar to the the 917 flat 12 well at least compared to the 4. Although i would love either and even lean to the 356 for its purity of shape and I just love them.
"brief, fun, ride", invokes all sorts of possibilities.
Shoot, no discussion of the unique Emory-Rothsport motor in the 356.
Clarification from the Porsche World: That's a 356A not B & the "911" was named due to "901" trademark infringement with another car manufacturer. Otherwise, very cool cars you've featured!
Indeed- There's nothing quite like realizing you've made an error like that... I hate this whole "human" thing... :-) As for the "901", that's a a great story indeed- and you'll hear more about it when we drive our "904"! Thanks for watching!
Was Peugeot that had patented three figures with a zero in the middle.
I wonder why Peugeot didnt complain about the BMW 507 , Dino 206, and Ferrari 308/208.
I wish I had the facility and equipment to customize a vehicle to that level. But, I do what I can with what I have.
Another brilliant video. Might want to try a new mic or fix the levels though, its sounds a bit hot.
At least it's not too quiet like some RUclips videos. I'll take loud and a bit crackly over too quiet anytime
The 356 has a shortened 911 motor made into 4 cylinders if I'm correct also known as "Polo" motor
I made that observation as well when he said it’s a 911 motor. Emory sometimes build them to 2.6 literally.
Note to self when visiting Audrain Museum. Wear quilted leather jacket to make Donald "swoon" 😉
i didn't choose my career because of the money - cars like these sometimes make me think twice
Ha! I always say, I work hard so I can buy cool cars!
I love the 356. The 911 is really tired (50 years old). Tweaked to death style wise. I acknowledge it’s superior performance and reliability. I like these re-imagined cars.
There's a 911 for everyone who can afford one. Unfortunately in my city you're more likely to see a McLaren or Lamborghini than a 911.
Savage.
Is the Singer on display at the museum? I’d love to stop by to see it
Not right now- but may be in a future exhibition!
I much prefer the Singer. As a 356 is supposed to have an air cooled 4 cylinder engine. The Top Gear review of a Singer is very good, and is done by James May. Thanks.
The Emory 356 has a 4 cylinders aircooled engine that produces 200 hp Rod Emory design and produces his own 4 cylinders aircooled engine is not a 911 modified engine when Rod started building this 356 he was using Porsches 911 modified engine but not anymore in the recent years he produces his own engines
Its a Rothsport 2.4-2.6L air-cooled flat-fours. Power outputs are anywhere between 200-260hp.
I’m a little late, but is the Singer owned by the museum? I haven’t seen one in person yet and would absolutely love to. Thanks!
Both cars are part of the Audrain Collections
How about a RUF next?
I'm also a big fan of RUF.
It’s a 356 A, duumy
Be nice to see a drive withOUT orange cones, dump trucks, smearey rain or pot-holey roads...!
Did no one bother to check annual weather or actual road conditions before you decided to build a zillion $$$$ autorama?!
Corvair reference? Really WTF. Drive a Corvair Corsa or better a Yenko (see Leno's) and tell me they could not compete with the Porsche factory cars of the day.
This guy says a lot of things that shows he doesn’t really know anything about Porsche - or Lotus!
Love the videos....but lose the singing....
Please....
