The best thing I've EVER seen on a festival stage recently. Tim Booth grabbing those frigging insidious mobile phones and throwing them on the floor! Total class! Live in the moment, not on a phone!
A once in a lifetime opportunity to share the stage with such an iconic act and most people preffered to film the whole thing instead of living the moment!
Over the years, James have been one of my favourite live acts. If this is their audience, though, dead without their phones, then jeez, the handcart is nearing hell.
Siempre en mi corazón, el 19/05 los volveré a ver por enésima vez... Me sigue sorprendido la cantidad de personas que dices JAMES y no saben de qué hablas. Geniales todos💪
Fair play Tim Booth - anyone with a mobile on stage should have been shown the exit door. FFS - some of these people are on the same platform as this top act and yet spend more time looking at their mobile screens rather than embracing the event and atmosphere.
Tim keeps himself young in so many ways. He sets a lot of good examples in how to be free, in the mind, and also the body. I see from the choices he made in pulling people from the audience that he also has an eye for the ladies. I'm not criticizing, that's just an observation.
Christ I saw James at the Reading Festival in 1991, and at Glastonbury in 93 or 94. They were a great band back in the day, I had no idea they were still going, fair play Tim & the lads 👍
James are something else. I've loved them forever and seen them live once in Glasgow. Epic Gig. Tim is Michael Stipe good. The rest of the band are amazing. We sat down in Glasgow for sit down. We used to do it in the students union in 92. A Cultural Meme before there was that thing. James is an excellent band both recorded and Live. Luv and Peace.
Saw James last year at Victorious in Portsmouth and they were my favourite performance over the whole weekend. Tim crowd surfed and still sung perfectly.....amazing band....hope to see them again
Remember walking around with a James tee shirt when I was a student...they made anthems...love the lady dancing around in one...fantastic times...fantastic performance and there's more to the song than you think....very underrated...
Along with the inspirals were underated in the Manchester thing. Quality band. Pioneers this song was before the Mondays and roses foray into dance music. Deserve more credit. The opening is ahead of it's time. Total class
You managed to mention every one of my favourite bands from the 80s inspiration caplets james stone roses happy mondays love then all. Love you 💙and every one else with this pation
Absolutely, i was going to say exactly the same thing. Totally into the atmosphere and enjoying the moment.....and all without the need to get her mobile out.
Jimmy N13 When I’ve been on stage before I never get my phone I feel it’s disrespectful and when they ask for some light with your phone I get my lighter out unless it’s run out of gas then it’s my phone hahah
I have seen a James a couple of times (purely a geographical problem) but they were fantastic. It was lovely seeing everyone let loose sans phones. I may be in my late 40's but James touches places other bands can't reach!
I was in the audience that day and watched him taking the mobiles off the lads and lasses on stage very funny to watch, top class live it has to be said.
yes he does not perform if theres mobile phones ..good on him nothing worse with folk sticking phones in your face when its a live gig... crazy live for the moment .. brilliant live are james in my top 5 ever
I love that Tim Booth is not the slightest bit intimidated by the huge crowd. What a great performer. He's loving it. And is that Fiona Bruce and Edith Bowman I spotted wigging out there?
complete and utter genius as per from Tim & co .. on the carousel I think that flares will make another come-back some time soon (baggy/Madchester was the first trouser-related revival after those sixties hoopies) ;-) It’s that time again when I lose my friends Go walkabout, I’ve got the bends from pressure This is a testing time when the choice is mine Am I a fool for love or foolish with desire You can throw him out you can spit on him Call what he does a sin if it makes you feel better And I can’t believe you’re all I’ll ever need And I need to feel that you’re not holding me And the way I feel just makes me want to scream Come home, come home, come home Come home, come home, come home After thirty years I’ve become my fears I’ve become the kind of man I always hated I am pulled apart, and my swollen heart Has flipped out of the pan into the fire I am in love insane with a sense of shame That I threw stones at the condemned and Now I’m slated And I don’t believe you’re all I’ll ever need And I need to feel that you’re not holding me And the way I feel just makes me want to scream Come home, come home, come home Come home, come home, come home Come home, come home, come home
Well its hard to believe that a performance could have more passion than the Pixies. James are absolutely awesome Lets not compare but this Aussie reckons that The Clash led the way!
Not really into all of the London music media luvvies prancing about like prats on stage in their Oxfam gear. I'd prefer to see a bunch of middle aged baldie blokes in tracksuits with cans of cheap lager, bucket hats and plenty of doobage, getting their freak on. That would be REAL.
Why can't people just enjoy the moments nowadays? now some these people will forever (in 1080P quality) look like saddos on a stage, people who cannot just enjoy the moment.
I still kill myself everyday because Adrian Oxall from the band walked into my shop and I was that staggered I called him Larry Gott. I wish he knew how bad that made me feel and still makes me feel. A true Legend of a British Band.
Still a class singer is TB but you cannot beat James from 86 87 88 then they turned into a totally different band after whelan left or got asked to leave last gig i saw was piece hall aug 89 in halifax but they were an 8 piece band then .. still good tho
Shame the majority of the people on the stage seems to be triple A hipsters who wouldn’t know James if a truckload or Stutter vinyl fell on their heads.....
The best thing I've EVER seen on a festival stage recently. Tim Booth grabbing those frigging insidious mobile phones and throwing them on the floor! Total class! Live in the moment, not on a phone!
Yes....I wish we could do this at football games too.
👍

For sale: one IPhone 10, found in a field whilst hiking around Isle of White last year
Totally agree
A once in a lifetime opportunity to share the stage with such an iconic act and most people preffered to film the whole thing instead of living the moment!
Tim says 'Put your phones away!' Love this. It makes me smile just watching. Such a cool band x
I can never listen to this without gaining a huge grin. One of the best feel-good songs ever, especially as a live number. Such a great band.
Over the years, James have been one of my favourite live acts. If this is their audience, though, dead without their phones, then jeez, the handcart is nearing hell.
Saw them in Thessaloniki last summer, and this song is one of those peak moments I have experienced in a live show
good old James getting rid of fucking phones! respect man!
This is just sooo cool letting ur audience up on stage to dance.. 😁👌
Siempre en mi corazón, el 19/05 los volveré a ver por enésima vez... Me sigue sorprendido la cantidad de personas que dices JAMES y no saben de qué hablas.
Geniales todos💪
this is so uplifting..i feel like shaving my head!

COOL JAMES !!
Mobile phones have ruined the celebration of live music...
Just what i was thinking when watching people on stage filming themselves
The worst example of Ego .. cant watch ... 🤔🛎🔚's!!!!
Jimmy N13 When I’ve been on stage before I never get my phone I feel it’s disrespectful and when they ask for some light with your phone I get my lighter out unless it’s run out of gas then it’s my phone hahah
Totally agree. Put the fuckin phones down and just enjoy the moment
People too busy filming the moment instead of living the moment.
Dad dancing😍😍
you must dance really cool hahaha
I have seen a James a couple of times (purely a geographical problem) but they were fantastic. It was lovely seeing everyone let loose sans phones. I may be in my late 40's but James touches places other bands can't reach!
James are still a brilliant group live😃
❤️ James
Good to see Tim sporting the Don Logan look...
The False Acacia exactly what I was thinking....haha DO THE JOB
No Kell, No No No No
Preparation, preparation, preparation
Finally, someone that can play a fucking tamborine. That was utterly epic.
Oh, how I want to come home. This Canadian stuck near Shanghai. Oh well, at least I have music like this to comfort me.
Tim booth legend
I was in the audience that day and watched him taking the mobiles off the lads and lasses on stage very funny to watch, top class live it has to be said.
For those not born in the 90’s. This was it. ❤🎵📵
yes he does not perform if theres mobile phones ..good on him nothing worse with folk sticking phones in your face when its a live gig... crazy live for the moment .. brilliant live are james in my top 5 ever
Class in a glass was on stage that day with the back room staff wow absolutely beautiful
I love that Tim Booth is not the slightest bit intimidated by the huge crowd. What a great performer. He's loving it. And is that Fiona Bruce and Edith Bowman I spotted wigging out there?
Yes
complete and utter genius as per from Tim & co .. on the carousel I think that flares will make another come-back some time soon (baggy/Madchester was the first trouser-related revival after those sixties hoopies) ;-)
It’s that time again when I lose my friends
Go walkabout, I’ve got the bends from pressure
This is a testing time when the choice is mine
Am I a fool for love or foolish with desire
You can throw him out you can spit on him
Call what he does a sin if it makes you feel better
And I can’t believe you’re all I’ll ever need
And I need to feel that you’re not holding me
And the way I feel just makes me want to scream
Come home, come home, come home
Come home, come home, come home
After thirty years I’ve become my fears
I’ve become the kind of man I always hated
I am pulled apart, and my swollen heart
Has flipped out of the pan into the fire
I am in love insane with a sense of shame
That I threw stones at the condemned and
Now I’m slated
And I don’t believe you’re all I’ll ever need
And I need to feel that you’re not holding me
And the way I feel just makes me want to scream
Come home, come home, come home
Come home, come home, come home
Come home, come home, come home
Best band in the world

Yep, kinda sucks to see people on their phones, not really understanding how much this means and how many people would love to be up there feeling it.
Tim: snatches phone
me: WHEEZE
I loved it when he took those cellphones, I know he hates it
Fair play. Put those kin phones away. Be in the moment!
Come home na class ktf
Why can't people just enjoy the moments nowadays? now some these people will forever (in 1080P quality) look like saddos on a stage, people who cannot just enjoy the moment.
Who wants to dance 💃 brilliant 🤩
At about 5:00 I thought "That looks like a young Fiona Bruce" and it wasn't until I read the comments I realised it is her - good genes I guess.

1:05 - IOW is All Elite!
Fiona Bruce and Edith Bowman
Fuck them phones.live in the moment.cant wait for the new tour.bbe.
Tim looking somewhat menacing with the goatee and shaved head
Ben Kingsley….Sexy Beast….😂
Not one of these Plebs on stage knows any of the lyrics to the song, how embrassing & shameful.
Most of them are from the Media anyhow
Yeah true except for Edith Bowman who was at the back and the Blond who was brought on stage, both kept their phones away and lived in the moment.
Shame the majority of the people on the stage seems to be triple A hipsters who wouldn’t know James if a truckload or Stutter vinyl fell on their heads.....
