      The only problem was that they were focusing on Nick too much. The main character was Judy. That's what the whole movie is about: Judy Hopps achieving her dreams even though others say otherwise.

      Or maybe in the sequel, the mayor of zootopia implements the shock cloar, which every predator has to wear. So that if they get too aggressive, they get shocked rather than a medicine because he says, it's too expensive or something something, nick makes the wild park, and after some time, Judy hopps becomes suspicious about nicks relaxed behavior, so she secretly follows him and discovers the park, and when the predators find out, they become panicked and starts running and come out to find the police waiting for them, nick gets arrested, judy tries to help him escape, they go in court, the mayor stops the implements of the collar, nick makes the park from secret to puplic park.

    My dad was an animator for this movie, so I know one of the reasons they didn't go with this idea is because they thought the shock collar thing was to dark and inhumane for a place that's supposed to be considered perfect.
    Edit: To anyone who wants to talk about my dad, please don't. This comment was meant for me to give a reason why this version of the movie wasn't the end result, not to talk about my dad.
    Edit: To anyone who says that that was the entire point of the movie, I know, but that wasn't the point I was making. The point is that it wasn't subtle at all.

      Man I wish... I just...I can't see it happening. 😕 the way that the story ended was such a closed circle that I dunno how they would get from there to wild times. Unless unless perhaps they picked up the story with Judy and Nick's grandkids? Like maybe Judy will be telling her grandbunnies about her police days
      then one of 'em will go "Wait why didn't the polar bear get shocked?"
      And Judy cringes and it has a flash back to the day the law gets passed and all the protests and nick getting hurt and all of that pain and Judy tells her grandbunnies "well...they didn't have a collar bun. They weren't a law when I was a cop"
      and the baby bunnies are all in shock like "what?! Predators didn't wear collars back then? How did you survive."
      And Judy is just like woah woah! Predators are not dangerous buns who told you that?
      All the little bunnies look ashamed and say that they heard it from their friends at school.
      A Judy is just like nah uh everybody in the car and she takes them to meet nick and he tells them all about the collars and how horrible they are and gets shocked in the process and the bunnies get inspired and make friends w/ Nick's granddaughter and they go protest the collars at city hall and raise a big fuss and the movie ends w/ the Predators being freed and the herbivores slowly apologizing and letting go of their fear.
      Dunno just had a thought and ran with it.

      I feel like this concept would work better as a Prequel rather then sequel because it would show and explain how predators where practically persecuted into becoming model citizens leading to the collars no longer being needed in the movie we got, and offer some contrast to why pray animals still hold onto their prejudice and fear of them reverting to their wild states, and Nicks amusement park could just be something that flopped after collars were banned and that's why we see him running small time cons and on hard times in the main film when Judy first meets him

      Like maybe an alternative universe or something that they discover. They did that in Cinderella, so it's not out of Disney's capabilities. Of course, they would need a believable way of doing it. I'm imagining something Back to the Future style where a suspect accidentally (or purposefully, I saw a comic where Bellwether does something like this) screws something up and it changes the future.
      I lost the name of the comic I mentioned earlier where Bellwether does this, but she kills a child Judy, so it's definitely a lot darker.

      Maybe a case Judy and Nick are on leads them to a section of the city that's run down and abandoned. Nick suddenly wants them to go anywhere else but there. Judy argues that they're here for the case and proceeds to a warehouse that's dilapidated. She looks up and sees a sign that says Wilde Times. Turning to her partner, she sees him looking despondent and asks if this was one of his old cons back in the day. Nick gets a serious look on his face, almost angry and explains that Wilde Times was his father's dream, what it was about, and how in the end its shutting down was a factor in why his father was no longer around. This would play a key factor, bigger than the muzzle incident, in Nick's attitude and decision to become a con-mammal from when Judy first met him. (Note in the first movie we see Mrs. Wilde but no Mr. Wilde). Just a little character background/ world building that I thought up on the spot.

    • @ArtistInAnUglySweater
      @ArtistInAnUglySweater 6 лет назад +17

      @@splitframe well...the happy end could maybe be that the major would be the lion we know now, who would fix the policy so noone would have collars. So like at least something. This whole concept could be like when the major was a prey, so he had all the predators have collars. Half way through, the one chubby cheetah guy (forgot his name) would maybe want badly to become a policeman, still helping out Nick a bit he would know about the Wild Times, which the previous prey major would offer him his job for. He knew that there was something for the predators, but didn't know where. That's when the bust down happens. The cheetah friend however doesn't become a policeman and gets arrested along with Nick and those who were attending at the Wild Times. And the happy end could be the coming of the new major. Like when the predators didn't have any other joy now, they'd maybe be more angry and wild. But, then would come our dreamy lion major, young at that time, who would want to become the major. There could start something. Like that he would want Nick's help for he had the idea of Wild Times. Then would start their journey of voting and getting their votes from the predators but preys as well and all! Then could come our happy end of the new major coming...though the loss of Wild Times would be still very sad...but the collars would be removed, so that would be a big positive and a way to the Zootopia we know now

    • @splitframe
      @splitframe 6 лет назад +30

      For an example, during the Infinity Wars movie, when Gamora asks Starlord to kill her, Drax immediately becomes the comic relief not a minute afterwards. And this is something that becomes apparent in a lot of movies. This is most likely why the Marvel movies do so well with the children.

Maybe in a sequel, we could have nick and judy visit another country where the discrimination against predators are even worse and this is where we would see the usage of the tame collar. Not only are we able to bring back the concept of the tame collar, but now we can also put in parallels to how discrimination varies in different degrees across the world.

    I think this would have been a better way to start the series and have Judy's story be the sequel. This helps to set the tone of the world that they are in and after everything Predators would be able to live without collars BUT since this place was open for so long there is still a stigma about Predators and then that leads into Zootopia's story that we got.

    • @Zyntherion2202

      And it can always be a prequel... The story could start with Nick and Judy chatting about in their break time which leads to nick telling a story about how the world is like in the past for predators which will lead to this story... But these form of storytelling always made me feel claustrophobic, so it'll be better if it's told in a different way, but yeah... It could be a prequel....

      in my perspective, if Wild Times was released instead of Zootopia people would definitely pick on it and say "yuck has Disney gone real furry" or something like that. One thing that's made Zootopia untouchable from picking on is because of Nick Wilde's characteristic. Zootopia was much, much better and just because Wild Times was interesting doesn't make it better than what people got.

      Zootopia has already been picked on for being furry, not that it has stopped Disney from making furry films in the past (Robin Hood was made in 1973 for crying out loud). They just got rid of a really interesting plot and some really good scenes. The Zootopia we got was really good, but it could've been much better. Disney is just too afraid of taking these kinds of risks nowadays which is a shame because the potential is just... crazy.

      @@pleasemyytcommentsaredumb.8189 ...Because collar kinks?
      The Zootopia we got doesn't have a bad plot, it just doesn't have as much potential. The Wild Times plot actually fits in with the anthropomorphized animals theme even more, but now they just took the first part out and made a furry film for the sake of it rather than take on a unique idea that we're now never going to see.
      Disney making furry films is nothing new, but actually going through with anything like Wild Times is, and it's not like they ditched it for the reasons you mentioned. They just don't go with anything dark like Bambi anymore. Wild Times would've gotten more attention for all the right reasons than Zootopia did for the wrong ones.
      I have nothing against furries. I like anthros, I just wish we got Wild Times instead because it sounds so perfect, at least to me. It would probably make it into the number 1 spot for me if it DID get made.

    Id love to see a prequel film with Nick and Finnick running this con. They can even keep the collar idea but maybe age the characters back a few years to show there was a time predators where treated differently, Nick could be responsible for why they don't wear the collars anymore, even clawhauser being in the film would be cool, you got his comic relief presence and the story shows us how he became a cop as a side thing. It basically writes itself

Now don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore the version of zootopia that we got, but I think this could have been amazing to watch to. I think they should make this a mini movie. In how to train your dragon, they have a few short stories and I think Disney should do something like that with this idea. This should be a flashback to nick’s life before they got a predator as a president and before Judy came along. Just an idea.

    They could make a sequel out of this dropped plot. What I recommend is that instead of shock collars, there could be a plot point about everyone falling under observation by the government and being required to wear collars with their ID showing at all times. On top of that, everyone's activities are being regulated and monitored and people are afraid to do anything exciting anymore. People feel unsafe and oppressed because they feel like they are permanently being watched by this omnipotent, tyranical force, so they go to "Wild Times" to escape this feeling of paranoia and oppression. They could restrict this idea to predators or they can include prey as well. Beavers and Hippos would probably enjoy the Bite Me game. As the park gets more successful it grows and becomes more technological advanced and is eventually found out and, well, something happens... maybe involve the mob in all of this as one of the major driving antagonistic forces and the fact that the main characters are police officers as a big risk on their part, though law enforcers and government officials could be in on the whole thing which adds another element of danger to being found out.

Nick and Judy, and when they got there they noticed that the city was very prejudiced with all the predators having been collared.

    I’m actually really glad they ditched the collars. I think the allegory works a lot better when the prejudice against predators isn’t immediately obvious. Plus, the final version allows for the tension to exist not just between predators and prey, but all species. It seems that in the original draft, Judy was just a straight laced cop who slowly started to realize how bad the preds have it. Her whole story seems to be an invention of the decision to get rid of the collars and give her a larger role.

      The problem is that it made the story much less interesting, and just became "racism bad" rather than a new idea for a dystopia. I don't know why everyone finds this too sad and dark for children. Just remember Frozen. Elsa's parents locked her in her room for years and then she escaped from everyone. And in lion king, simba's father died and the same things happened. But still, they are the best Disney movies. And this movie was going to show the Tame collars as bad things so there is no brainwashing. And it's not too sad like Titanic. It's still good enough for kids. It's a movie for kids not for babies. So it doesn't have to be like ''everything is perfect yay''. And I bet this story would be more successful since it's more focused on freedom and treating everyone equally (At first it wasn't, just like the REAL world. But then, thanks to Nick and his friends, it would be solved).

Try PG13 rating in the making which is what one of their fears was due to peoples narrow mind's. Animation does not mean 100% Kid friendly but most of our society thinks it does still. If you really want to know how Dark this movie was before your going to have to look yourself though. Because its just too much information to type.

      emre ekinci It's because the world thinks these movies should always be kids. And seeing innocent predators being gunned down by a swat team would be a bit much for them... yes that was a scene. They had a swat team of Boars who sniffed out "savage" predators and blasted them to kingdom come. I for one want this version of the film. That was just a percentage...Nick also goes nuts and tears out Manchese's throat when he goes savage he nearly mauls Judy in the original script and Nick tears him to pieces essentially, Nick is also put in critical condition due to being constantly electrocuted by his collar while DEFENDING Judy causing him to end up in a bed at Bunny Burrow several days later.

    • @emreekinci4258
      @emreekinci4258 8 лет назад +3

      +Ceriu ok they are bad if there was a tear out scene (can you give me the link) but they could just delete that scene or make it a safer scene just like mancha's attack scene in today's zootopia, that doesn't make all the story too dark for children because some other animations have dark secenes like them too

    While I love the Wild Times theme park and think the games were incredibly creative, I'm glad they didn't go with the tame collar idea. I know other people seem to think it was a better way to go than what we got, but I honestly found it way too over the top and in your face, particularly that doctor scene. A scenario like that would have been like 1984 except with comedy. Playing up something as dark as forcibly having an entire social group of sentient beings wearing shock collars for laughs just feels too distasteful. I love the finished movie that we got because, as in-your-face as its message might have been in the beginning, it was much more realistic and reflected current society. Judy arrives in Zootopia believing it to be every bit as promising and accepting as its made out to be, because the underlying racism and stereotyping wasn't immediately apparent.
    The tame collar idea might have been a great concept for a dark satirical commentary (again, like 1984) , but not as a children's comedy.

      FullRetardBoy I think it's the appeal of more dark and angsty elements in a kid's movie... even if this hadn't been a scrapped idea I bet a fanfiction utilizing this concept would have sprung into existence at some point regardless.

      I like the film we got, but I also like the original concept for the fact it dealt with an innocent character that society distrusts being framed for a crime he didn't commit and having to prove their innocence more so than the collars themselves.
      The original story sounded like The Fugitive but with a fox and bunny.

    • @leohino9211

      ***** I didn't see that movie but it would've looked like plagiarism. Also I think the sequel should focus on interracial couples. How to deal with them properly.

    Maybe this will be the second movie as a prequel, maybe it’ll be a sequel where the law is put into fruition? Either way I love the idea.
