The reason for recovery taking a short amount of time or longer has to do with how a person is hit and post concussion symptoms stay because a person's body isn't healing as fast as some other people. Nerve damage and headaches and other symptoms make problems for concussion patients to recover. Everyone is different and heal different even if people want to get better and go back to the way things use to be before the concussion that doesn't mean people will heal faster and a person pretending to be better when they aren't better isn't good either. A person heals when they heal. Not everyone is the same. Don't make a person with a concussion feel like they are crazy or faking because most likely they aren't.

I had a relatively small frontal lobe accident and I’ve been given 1 and a half years to recover

Hi, my brother in law met an accident after that he had head injury (internal). It is now 24 days after surgery, still he is unable to remember anything. No past memory, can not remember names, can not recognize his parents. I mean nothing, no memory. But yes he had etiquette, he knows how to talk, eat and dress. We are worried how long it will take to get his memory back. As per surgeon, it is left brain injury so will take time. How Long..................
