OSi has always been an old fav of mine, it's been around for 20 years! Good to see you get around to reviewing it! I think its one of the sadly forgotten about knives in our modern times. I have a friend who has been using an OSi to finish off game for those 20 years. Fantastic design, perfect balance, comfy to hold and looks cool as hell. I much prefer it to the OSS.

Thanks, bro. OSI is one of the best fighting knives in my opinion. I like it better than the double edged version, this one allows for more techniques, the other hand can be up and behind it without an edge threatening it, and it is easier to spin into techniques, the backswing is not dangerous to the user.

The OSI and the OSS are two of Cold Steel's budget blades that perform like blades that ought to cost more. I have both and I'd probably give the nod to the OSS for a defensive blade because of its double edge. Which brings to mind the following question: if you were using the double-edged OSS do you believe you could slice forehand on those four bottles and then come back backhand to slice lower on them for the second cut without shifting your grip? That's one of the arguments in favor of a double blade for defense. So I was wondering if you thought you could prove it via bottle cutting. If you own the OSS that is a video I'd really enjoy watching (if you take requests)
I've done that with bigger blades like their Kris sword. I'm sure it is possible with the OSS, but it would need to be sharpened really well.

I have the OSS also, but I like that the OSI lets me have my other hand up without having to keep track of the rear edge.
I need some more Cold Steel but I'm concerned with any new manufacturing changes since there is new ownership.

Just ordered their drop forged bowie (yesterday or the day before), have a guy making me a modification for the holster which just allows it to pivot on your leg and belt loop.
