Thank you for confirming why these are extinct. Also for confirming all the problems that I am having. A big problem is that so many dvd players can’t read the whole disc. Only by chance did I find that a whole group of these had been copied missing the first chapter or two. Some players can’t physically get to the first data on these minis, possibly due to physical constraints ! Folks, if you can afford it, pay this guy to work through your mini dvds. I am skilled in electronics, and I am at wits end with these damn things. Most importantly, if I paid myself my hourly……… I would probably be about $10,000 into this project.
Preach!! lol! Almost every mini dvd job I get in, esp unfinalized is a complete and utter pain in the arse!! And I know what I’m doing! You nailed it when you figured out what your time is worth messing around with it in comparison to your hourly / salary career! I tell people allllll the time, fairly intelligent people that have very well paying jobs who are fiddle flucking around with all this old media trying to DIY & when I tell them $1500 for the ENTIRE LIFE HISTORY to be neatly and carefully digitized they go ‘HOW MUCH?’ Meanwhile they had 5 different camcorders over 30 years they prob paid $10k in total for and one look at ONE tape or dvd and it says ‘Disney World Vacation 2004’ … which cost them easily $7-10k … and then their Wedding … there goes $4k for the videographer and $75k to host it, I cost less than the bloody DJ lol! I could go on and on! The disconnect is mind blowing!

Hi there, i love your video.
so we need to finalize the disc first in the camcorder then we can copy the file to the digital file, is it?
Little bit more involved than that to be a playable modern file.
