No, literally everybody likes the spin jump badge the best. It’s not underrated at all if u check out videos literally 80% of yt’s say they used it during most of their play through and it was the most helpful badge by far.
I slightly prefer the mid-air spin jump badge, because it can cover more vertical ground and therefore has more varied use, but I think it's hilarious that the very first badge you get is such an overpowered one. It kind of disincentivizes using the rest.
In my opinion the boosting spin jump is the most useful by far. It's basically a safety bounce badge, a floating high jump badge and a few more. It's the most consistently good badge in the game.
2 of my favourite badges in Super Mario Bros. Wonder are parachute cap and boosting spin jump. Both are super useful and have a funny animation to it. In my opinion though, parachute cap just barely beats out boosting spin jump because you can unlock it very early in the game.

I wish after 100% there was a badge that combined a bunch of other badges like crouch jump, floaty high jump, glide, faster run, all the basic ones that don’t over lap in button presses

You can do the same more efficiently with grappling vine but my favorite is Boosting Spin Jump!

Jet Run plus Bounce.
Or three even, add on Invis.
That would open up so many insane possibilities

Floating High Jump was the goat for me; specifically for getting the tops of all the flagpoles! Such a good game!
You forgot to mention that the invisibility badge actually makes so enemies can't attack you so I'd say it's still somewhat useful
