The quality of your channel is insane, especially when considering how young it is! Earned my sub! I’m still in my undergrad, pre-dental. I’m the first in my family, so it’s super useful to learn from you and your guests like Kevin! Keep it up please!

Fantastic video. I just stumbled upon this channel recently and love the content you’re putting out. I’m in undergrad right now, but my dad is a general practice dentist and I’ve decided for myself that I want to follow him into the profession. OMFS is definitely on my radar in the long-term, so learning about it early on in my dental journey helps to keep me motivated in my studies as well as to weigh the costs and benefits of going in that direction. Thank you Joel and Kevin!

Hi, I hope you are doing well. I just had a few questions regarding fellowship opportunities after oral and maxi facial surgery residency. Am I eligible to do more than one fellowship after OMFS residency? If I hold a DDS and PhD, Can I still do fellowship after receiving my OMFS certificate of residency completion? Is a MD required to do fellowship?

Is class rank considered in the absence of GPA in US dental residencies? For example, say my GPA is 3.8 in dental school but I am ranked 28 of 84...how is this looked at? Would this still be considered competitive for OMFS or am I just chasing the impossible? - Thanks for another amazing video btw Dr. Joel 🙏

if you have class rank, most programs will consider it afaik

@@jmey Thanks. I absolutely know they will consider it, but will they also consider my GPA?

Hey Joel! This video is honestly awesome and your channel is amazing, especially your video and production quality! You're going to blow up one day! Do you know anything about Canadian OMFS (4 or 6 year) residency at UofT, Western etc., and the competitiveness in getting in, or if Kevin applied? I know there are limited spots, but I can't seem to find much information about this on the internet since it's a bit niche. Currently a 1st year dental student and excited for what's ahead, but super interested in OMFS at the moment (may change lol), thanks so much!

ty!! tbh, not my major area of expertise. if you're a first year, honestly not much for you to do right now other than focus on keeping your GPA high. Once you get into second year if you're very keen, you can start doing some shadowing in the OS clinics and ramp that up as you get into third year / start doing externships
