    Drove one set up as a tandem log truck. It had the Dodge v8 gas engine and a 5 x 4 trans. Tough old truck! It was a Virginia Forest Service Fire Dozer transporter with a dove tail bed. Had very low mileage when it was picked up at an auction.

    Chrysler Corporation had these all over Detroit in the 60's and 70's. Pretty good Trucks for their time. Mine was a gasser .Can't imagine having that HUGE Detroit Power. MAN!

    O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 Seeing an old Dodge 900 is so cool!🥰 My brother had one back in the day that had been an oil field/toter truck. Love those swing out hoods! Talking about easy access to the stuff! Looks like it was still connected to a trailer. Was it just parked, shut down & then left there as a yard ornament? It sounded quite good as well!👂 Nothing like an old Detroit as far as the sounds…except for a Cat engine! Glad you got it. Did you get the trailer as well? Good stuff!🥰🤩✌️

      I got the trailer as well and what happened was my buddy owned it and used it to haul round bails on his farm up until 3 years ago he bought a new bail trailer so he just parked it and been sitting ever since

    Nice find!! 😮 I like the powerplant they chose. I've seen quite a few in my area but most have a gas engine. Found one with a 250 Cummins but it was rough. You get the lowboy behind it also?

    • @Trevons_Hobbies
      @Trevons_Hobbies  2 года назад +3

      It came with the lowboy to, the detroit was converted into it sometime in the 80s i was told, lots of wires and such that dont go to anything that i gotta sort out still but it runs great which is a hell of a start!

    Must have been one of the last ones off the line.....😕 I remember when lafarge and Ocean cement (now both are heidelberg)used these on their transit mixers along with cat powered F800s

    Factory Detroit?? But of an odd ball but not unheard of, ole dodge 3+ton used to use Perkins and Cummins along with a few other diesel manufacturers

      Its not a factory detroit, i was told it was stuck in there sometime in the 80s
