Nightwolf has pretty much always been one of my favorite Mortal Kombat characters of all time simply because I really find Native American culture to be interesting and he seems to be a very wise and noble character in the roster.

I admit, I totally enjoy MK 1995 and MK Annihilation. They can definitely be silly at times, but if you think about the video game franchise, it is also very silly at times. These 2 movies actually feel like Mortal Kombat.
Please don’t put the first MK in the same category as Annihilation. 🤣 MK 95 is nowhere near as silly as this movie. Cheeky and dated, sure, but this movie is downright horrendous lol
The first movie was not silly at all, I think it was excellent, so was the fights. Second movie was a bit cheesy and silly, but still enjoyed it with all the many characterz in that film

I always thought it would have been hilarious is Nightwolf’s axe hit Liu Kang blade first and just sunk right into his skull and Nightwolf just says “Oh shit...” and just turns back into a wolf and runs off into the wilderness.
No native Americans are trained in non fatal combat with even the deadliest of weapons.

I agree, but since they did make this back in 97 I'm pretty sure he's a lil to old to be nightwolf now. But who knows maybe he's aged pretty well.
I like the actor, I hated how he always got typecast as an Indian though, I wish he could've broke out into more roles. He was a good actor.
This Nightwolf was such a smart ass and then there was Nightwolf on “Defenders Of The Realm” who was very nice and consciences.
Man, I loved this show as a kid. SubZero (Kuai Lyang), Liu Kang, Nightwolf and Kiva was my favourites!
Nightwolf was not played by Brandon Lee’s The Crow ok, he was played by Litefoot from Indian in the Cupboard. Check that out!

They should have focused more on a few core characters rather than randomly throwing characters in the end with a second or 2 of screen time. Not only is character development easier, but you can expand the universe later.

In an alternate universe, liu khang never found him, and got lost in the desert, and died due to malnutrition
in an alternate universe lui thought he met night wolf. but the whole interaction was a hallucination from the dessert conditions. the man he thought was a wolf was actually a coyote come to eat his dying body.

That CGI from Nightwolf turning back into a human is pretty good CGI for what they had at the time.
Other CGI was awful though. For example, when Sonya beat Mileena and that dragon spawned. That was really bad CGI.
I guess darkness helps alot. The other one was in broad daylight.

The CGI was low-key slept on back in 1997 though
never understood this part. He came to Nightwolf to learn how to tap into his dragon form BUT NEVER LEARNED ANYTHING. Nightwolf just gives him some fookin Raiden gibberish riddle, knocks him out, then leaves him where he gets tricked by Jade.
Everything is easy. "Axe knock knock, New Kung. MATRIX has you"...
And then.

I'm guessing Nightwolf wanted Liu Kang to learn on his own so I'm guessing that's why he left Kang.
Given that they decided to write a joke finisher into the movie's canon, wouldn't it been better for Nightwolf to teach him the FRIENDSHIP instead? That way they could have avoided conflict altogether and just throw a big party with Shao Kahn and the others.
