Finally!! Ive seen many mexican food in japan, but they were completely different. i really appreciate how he really tried to study and invest his time to learn authentic Mexican food !
Kensuke got to come down here, you know, with some Oaxaca, Michoacán & Yucatán, maybe Sonora, Baja & Sinaloa... he will reach the taco heart. Yet, those tacos looks great. Se hace agua la boca pensando en la combinación del maíz y el puerco, con cebolla, cilantro, limón y salsa. 🇲🇽
Hi, that quesadilla looks good. Although it’s true that to taste real Mexican food you should visit Mexico for the full experience . It makes me happy to think he actually took the effort to learn how to recreate them. Great video subscribed
Me dio enorme gusto que Kensuke Soeda ya cuenta con su propio restaurante, al menos así lo muestra mapa google en 2020. Felicitaciones Meg Igarashi por el reportaje.
As a Mexican you should know that fish tacos exist. They originated in Ensenada. They actually have a certain indirect connection with Japan. The fish in beer batter was taken from the Portuguese, who got the idea from the Japanese tempura. 😉
I want to start my own taco business in countries that don’t have tacos 😭 I personally feel like tacos can change the way we feel about each other and love each other more. Tacos are the key!!!!😭
nice well focused menu! and thats from the land of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas! (we eat like that often) **also nice interview and style of shooting for the video I appreciated it.
三宅円花 It’s near a place called National Azabu! The address is 4-5-2 Minamiazabu Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan I think it’s only open on weekdays and closes around 6 but it might good to go even earlier just incase it runs out! I also linked the facebook page in the description so check that out when u go!! :)
I'm definitely checking it out next time I'm in Tokyo. His quesadilla game looks on point as well. By the way do you know the guys from Tabieats? Shinichi is into Mexican grinds, I think he'd like this place.
It looks pretty good. I definitely would go to that place If I ever go to japan. I'll maybe would even share my hot pico de gallo sauce recipe with him x)
Hey Meg, great video. I’m Mexican from Los Angeles and I go and visit every year with my band when we go on tour and I could never find Mexican food there. Do you have to know if the truck stays in that one spot or does it move around? What station is it closest to? Thank you 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I am mexican sorry but, this not mexican food!! El burrito is from USA, also tacos with cream is not mexican.. Taco bell not mexican. The authentic food mexican in México or made with hands mexicans.
Yeah, I totally understand what you're saying and know it's more Americanized considering he learned in the US. I'm planning to interview another place I like soon with a Mexican owner. I like both places a lot though and just wanted to share food I genuinely enjoy. :)
Hi bro the origin of the burrito is from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico and it’s a dish from a Mexican and Tex-Mex Cuisine. I understand you probably didn’t know this since it’s not a typical dish you will find all over Mexico including myself I’ve never tasted one before. I refuse to buy one in taco bell tho just seeing La tortilla, I’m not interested.
As a real Mexican, I think this shouldn't be called as Mexican food while this is Chicano food (American food of Mexicans born in US) Many Mexicans are tired of naming this as Mexican while this is not true. You need go to Mexico for try real Mexican food, no Chicano food.
I agree with you, (Edinburg TX 20miles or so from Mexico's Nor Este) but then again, there is no one Mexican food, I have not travelled all over Mexico to eat, but a few places I've driven (or flown at times) are Matamoros, Reynosa, Monterrey, DF, San Luis Potosi, Villahermos (estado Tabasco), Chetuma, Cancun, Tolum, Veracruz (mild food there/ no picosa), and Tampico... The food changes with all parts of Mexico, so Mayan style foods differ from West Coast Mexico, East Coast Mexico, Mountain areas Mexico and so forth. One of the reasons we also have no "real" Chinese food here in the USA, and I miss it from my three years in Taipei is the same as your point restaurants always have to adjust to what locals will show up for and buy to eat. (I can get something close to Chinese food in South West Houston, but it is still not the same). Enjoy eating!! and Keep Eating!!

Damn that’s a decent burrito for Japan! I wish I would have known last month when I was up in Tokyo!
RenMan in Japan You should go next time haha 😁

man the tacos in baja (used to live in rosarito) are insanely good. Unbelievable food in that region
¥900 for a burrito sounds right. Equivalent of $6. That's actually a low price for one compared to the prices taco shops in Cali charge.
Its about the same I think
It’s about $9. Kind of steep. Where I’m from the burritos are packed and only $5.
@@pherja Its not bad considering the cuisine is no where near common. I bet you there are worse burritos for triple the price out there in Japan!
We should Embrace each other’s culture # love ❤️ 🌮 and 🍣
I'm with you
Same, my lil sis even dreamed of ppl getting along with no violence.
I don't know what to tell her tho.
