This is to deny the recovery of the abandoned vehicle, since it may simply be out of fuel and still mechanically sound as well as loaded with munitions. Absolutely necessary work. Also, not the only drone out there and not the only grenade in the arsenal. There's plenty of love to spread around
Behind the horrors of the war, it must be incredibly satisfying for drone operators to see live close-up video of drops taking out Russian tanks, from a relatively safe distance.
Better than Russian artillery being fired at random unseen often residential targets
On the flip side though, imagine being a drone operator who missed an open hatch and the tank went on and killed fellow soldiers before it could be destroyed. Or missed hitting a machine gunner. I can see pressure in that regards as well.
That is for p*ssies. Real men go onto the battlefield. Ukrainians are too scared of Russian man-power.

It’s actually not the fuel tank. Russian tanks are design where the bulk of their ammo is in a carousel right beneath the turret, meaning when the grenade goes off in the turret, it’s starting to ignite the tank rounds. That’s why it’s so easy to find videos of Russian tanks turrets just flying off.

For the drone to hover 5 feet above it, there was nobody was in it. Hence the hatch was open?

Sometimes I wonder if they are just destroying abandoned vehicles that are damaged but could be retrieved and repaired later. I guess the Russians also have a chance to retrieve the damaged tank.
No doubt the vehicles are 'looked' at later IF the Ukrainians have control.....if the vehicle is kaput, there's still parts.
In this situation odds are far greater that the russians would come back for it rather than the Ukrainians...that's why you blow up abandoned materials.
There are mines everyvere and it is basicaly no man's land. But russians could throw another human wave with drivers and retake some tanks.
A tank is a very uncomfortable place to be so crew will very often be outside, even if the tank isn't broken down. You don't LIVE in a tank. So even a perfectly operational tank will often be empty, the crew might be stationed in the vicinity. Others are damaged but, as you said, they can be repaired so it's still a good idea to burn them down.

The smart crews carry white towels and run towards the Ukrainian lines. Who would ever want to go through more than one such drone attack?

When you sit in your tank and hear a "thunk" and see a grenade dropping in, you are going to have a bad time.
I've been in an Abrams with training mortars dropping around us .. cursing the mortar guys and calling cease fire on the radio .. and that was practice rounds .. that was scary enough

The last tank was likely abandoned, the drivers hatch was left open. Unless it's dropped into the turret where the ammo is stored in russian tanks, these mortar rounds and gernades the drones are dropping will have little to no effect against the armor. That's why they try to drop it into the turret if they can. If they can light off the ammo, they can destroy the tank by "cooking off" the ammo. Next best thing is disabling the engine. Other than that it's the equivalent of an elephant being bitten by a mosquito. Little to no effect.
I think that is the same tank shown at the beginning of the video. They both have marking "bAPKAL" on their turret armor block.
@Steven Ford yes I think it is to, the crew probably fled when they started taking fire or the tank was immobilized. It's hard to tell what's going on in these videos. With so many cuts in the clips, we are not getting the full story in most of these videos. One thing to consider with mainstream media, they are only showing us what they want us to see. The propaganda is very strong with this conflict.
