      One SSPX Church in Chile. 12 hour drive to the north of me. Wonderful people who I greatly admire and have visited. No FSSP here in Chile!!!!!!!!!! None, Nada.
      A whole country of lost souls.
      I go to Mass.
      I go to confession once a year when a Catholic English speaking priest is near.
      I take part in the sacraments.

      ChileExpatFamily When I read your reply on how the Reformation is considered a holiday in Chili I was astounded! However, as astounded as I was I wasn't very surprised considering all that's going on with the liberal side of the Church. We may be fortunate here in America that the Reformation isn't considered a holiday yet, but i believe with the way things are headed, we're not far behind! Let us all continue to pray for each other and stay strong in our Catholic faith. God have mercy on us for the mess we made down here.

    Oh, how I love this homily!!! Having been raised as a Lutheran, in Germany and seeing Church history, my theological questions in a lutheran college were routinely rebuffed. Between 1984-2018, I worked in Criminal Justice with psychologists, etc. who taught me about dysfunctional personality disorders. During those years I also read my way into the Church. Later, reading Luther's Table Talks one realizes that through no fault of his own, Martin Luther was born and raised in an anti-social family. He was fully convinced of his unworthiness yet, rebelled against such. Finally, as a college freshman, an account of Luther's death was read which reported that he prayed a full 15 decades of the Holy Rosary; I was immediately silenced. Few, if any, Lutheran preachers are aware of these & flatly deny his hatred for the Jews. Time for a re-examination of Luther's writings and speech. Pax.

      My mother who grew up Catholic, but, later in life joined the Presbyterian Church, and later received Jesus as her Lord and Savior, told me that she still sometimes prayed to Mary. I said nothing about this to her at the time, but I know that it says nothing in the Bible about praying to anyone else but God, in Jesus Name. Jesus is our only intercessor according to the Bible. The Bible tells us that we are worthy to pray to Him.
      Romans 8:34 - Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
      1 John 5:14-15 - 14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, He heareth us:
      15 And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
      Philippians 4:6 - 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

    I have read all your comments and my first thought was how many of you have Jesus in their lives as your Lord and saviour. I hear more of the Catholic Church and very little on the name of Jesus. The Holy Bible, the true Word of God by which He will judge us all. Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me (Jesus). There is a need to study the doctrine of salvation. Only by grace do we gain salvation through Jesus not works. Only when we understand salvation by grace do we truly come to know Jesus through a personal relationship with Him. That way we only have to worry about the souls of the lost. Jesus wants us to pray for the lost not to speak against them. He wishes that all be saved and none perish. So please always go back to the Bible and weigh everything you hear against this word of God. Look at the messages Pope Francis is giving. How do they weigh against the bible. So who do you believe, the pope or the bible. God bless.

    • @patienceennis5488
      @patienceennis5488 7 лет назад

      Sue W - I see a great problem with that. The Roman Catholic Church as you know if now did not exist during the time of Jesus. Peter was not the first pope. There is a misunderstanding that when Jesus said that that Peter's answer could only have been revealed to Him by the Father. That truth was what Jesus was going to build His church. Soon after that did he not say to Peter to get The behind me Satan. Was it not Peter who denied Christ 3 times. The bible does not state that Peter was elevated about all. If anyone would have been elevated it would have been Paul. The Roman Catholic was formed after Constantine worn a battle where he thought God had given him the victory in the battle. He became emperor. That was when he gave the order for Christianity to be the Roman religion because he had become emperor. The Roman religion was pagan prior to that with the worship to the Sun God. The pagan worship and Christianity were integrated as many people could not stop their pagan worship. This was about 500AD. There is nothing to prove the infallibility of the pope. The verses your priest gives says the verses 'reflect' the infallibility. They has to be fact. I think you need to do a proper search on the history of the Catholic church so that you ate aware of the actual truth and not depending on someone else's truth. The pope and priest do not have the power to forgive sins - only Jesus can do that. No man has the power to forgive. Jesus sits at the right hand of our Father as our High Priest making intercession for us. That was one of the main reasons He died for us - that he would live amongst us as man and go through as well as see and yet He did not sin. As our High Priest He intercedes for us because ONLY HE knows us and the problems we experience. He understands our lives so can can intercede with mercy and grace and forgive. So the only way to heaven is through Jesus alone, not the pope or mother Mary. He said quite clearly no-one gets to the Father except Him. Period.

      Patience Ennis Jesus founded the Catholic Church. Only the Catholic Church can trace her bishops back to the Apostles. All Apostles graves are in Catholic Churches.
      All non-Catholic Churches can be traced to individual men- the definition of man-made traditions, false prophets, false shepherds.
      The Catholic Church produced the Bible correctly for 2000 years. If the Catholic Church is wrong then give us our bible back. It’s not yours. You think Jesus Christ failed to keep his promises, that the gates of hell will next prevail against His Body the Church.

    it is easy to condemn what Martin Luther did from the comfort of the 21st century. if you read the church practices back in the day, you will understand why he did what he did (though not necessary mean everything he did was right). Who has moral high ground to claim what he did was wrong at the time? But he definitely did one thing right - released the gospel and set the nations on much needed reformation fire. BTW, he did not revolt against our Christ. Corrupted church (at the time) is not Christ's Church! To only condemn what Martin Luther did without mentioning the corruptions and malpractices in the Church at the time shows the double standard in the speaker's heart. Seek truth...

    • @mrmjvc
      @mrmjvc 7 лет назад +1

      Eng Sia no the Church was not "corrupted" back then, only some of its adherents were (who excommunicate themselves by mortal sin), because they did not follow it's doctrines.
      I think you misunderstand what the Church is. Christ and the Church he founded are one. If you really believe that the Church back then was not Christ's Church, then you are calling Christ a liar when he said the gates of hell would never prevail against it. You simply can't "corrupt" Christ's Church.

    "For the sake of holy love, why doesn't the pope empty purgatory?" (Thesis #82 or so). My dear Catholic friends, please give up belief in purgatory & indulgences (buying God's forgiveness) and trust in Christ alone. Jesus' blood, which you celebrate in the Mass, paid for ALL the sins of the world. No one needs to miss Heaven. Please read the letter to the Hebrews in one sitting (if you are German, read it in German). The New Covenant of Jesus Christ is superior to the OT; Jesus wants to save everyone, including Catholics, and take us all to Heaven. This is awesome; Luther knew it.

      Sorry but Lutherans are heretics of the faith to begin with, and in reality, the hatred of the Blessed Virgin Mary is so insane and so vile, you all can look forward to the hand of Justice from our Lord come your judgement day.

      To Savages: I'm a Baptist. I honor Mary. I kind of like the title, Mother of God, since she is the mother of God come in the flesh. But I don't pray to her. When Jesus died, the curtain in the Holy of Holies was ripped from top to bottom by the hand of the Father to show us that we can now come into the holy presence of God. (please change your name - creepy).

      You have a choice, to fully understand you have been robbed of details, knowledge of information that would make you a True christian. The cult of the baptist omits so much information, so much theology that you know no better, you have been separated from the true deposit of faith. Thank God you're not as far gone as the Mormons but it is sad that so many Baptist live in apostasy. Mary it the most perfect created human, second only to Jesus, But then Jesus was the second person of the Holy Trinity. Think about this, She is: Daughter of God the Father, Wife of the Holy Spirit, Mother of God the Son. Can there be any more special mediatrix of Grace? When visited by Gabriel, the Angel said "Hail Full of Grace" NO OTHER Human had ever been greeted like this in the bible. Full of Grace, let that sink in. In your life you have hugged, or shaken hands with someone and said to them "PRAY FOR ME" ... Check this out... You ask a fellow SINNER, who has not gone to Confession to have his sins forgiven so he can be in the "state" of Grace, A fellow Sinner who has not received the Holy Eucharist (Body and Blood our Lord) to PRAY FOR YOU. To INTERCEDE for YOU, YET you would NOT Ask the MOTHER OF GOD, who Sits at the Right Hand of Christ KING to plead on your behalf mercy, mercy for your many sins. This is the logic of the heretics and apostates of the Holy Roman Catholic. Satan is overjoyed with taking from our Lord the Love of his Mother, Wife, Daughter. This is the active role played by all apostates, helping to insult and diminish the Greatness of our Queen. This is the Luther demonic legacy. Also, dont concern yourself about my name, it is a motto against satanic muslims.
      Here: ruclips.net/video/GSfPRP4fyzo/видео.html perhaps you can learn about your mother here.

      To Savages: Heaven is going to be filled with believers in Jesus. John 3:17: "God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it." I think the many shades and varieties of Christians will enjoy being in the presence of God. Luther did not want to start a new denomination. He was hoping the pope would correct some abuses. Erasmus was so disgusted with what he saw in Rome he never went back. You and I need to trust the Holy Spirit to guide millions into a saving knowledge of Jesus. The key: read the NT, again and again. Amen.

    Martin Luther did not hate the Catholic people. He hated the false teachings of the Catholic church. Such as the false belief of purgatory. And praying to Mary and others in Heaven to intercede to help them get their prayers answered. We are only supposed to pray to Jesus. There is no place in the Holy Bible that says to pray to Mary or anyone else to get our prayers heard and answered. Jesus is God. He hears our prayers, and answers our prayers if we have faith and believe He will.
    And we don't have to do anything to earn salvation. All we have to do is repent of our sins, and receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We each have to make that decision ourselves. We don't get saved just because our parents are Christians or because we belong to a church.
    Small children should not be baptized, because they need to be old enough to receive being baptized themselves when they are old enough to make that decision themselves.
    My mother was Catholic, and I was sprinkled when I was a baby, but after I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I made the decision myself to be baptized by immersion, as John the Baptist did.
    I am thankful that Martin Luther decided to study the truth in God's Word, and spread the truth of God to all those who would listen and want to find the truth themselves. Before that the only ones who could read the Word of God were the leaders in the Catholic Church, and not the people. Thankfully Martin Luther made the Holy Bible available to all.

      The Catholic Church composed the canon of Scripture. It gave the Bible to the world, and declared which books were divinely inspired. You've made an awful mistake in leaving Catholicism. Return and repent, for you have separated from the Bride of Christ. As Saint Ambrose stated in the fourth century: “Where Peter is therefore, there is the Church. Where the Church is there is not death but life eternal. …Although many call themselves Christians, they usurp the name and do not have the reward.” (The Fathers of the Church ) Please, give it some thought. Your salvation rests upon it.

      William Chami - Repent of your sins and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior with your mouth and in your heart. Then be baptized.
      Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
      Acts 2:38 - Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
      Ephesians 2 :8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      John 3:3-7 - Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
      "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. "Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'

      So you affirm baptism as the way in which one is born again?
