I have the R1. Underwhelmed; I do hope we'll see updates with major leaps in improvement. ( For the ' fooled me ' comments; I bought this as a toy, my expectations were low - they hit the mark! )
the r1 is very fun when you really want it without giving up too fast, actually he is really helpfully in storytelling for my lil indie game project, so i can fill some storybooks for the player to read with unique storys and his cute soundfiles recorded. He also creates some scripts and helps me out a lot as cute hoppy Sidekick, dont expect him to do all the work, afterall its a ai assistant and no ai allrounder.
I have one. I hate it.

Love the content and I know everyone has to be sponsored somehow, but paying for no adds on RUclips and then having to sit through a content creators own infomercial is just as bad. 😢
The reason your password manager doesn't work is because you're just logging in to a browser based VNC viewer. It's not account linking, you're straight up just logging in to your accounts on a VM they control and giving them the full session.
I still can't believe this system. I'm just supposed to trust a random VNC connection to a VM I don't know anything about? Wild

it's not that.. it's just a desire to have all of the desired ai functionality of the future. this company is a joke and deserves to go bankrupt after the scam they pulled. why anyone would support them any further is beyond me.. get fooled once, okay not your problem.. get fooled again though....

@@patc2515agreed. The company really went after a particular YT reviewer in a way that was childish and full of propaganda. Aside from that, they tried to sell this as something that would be revolutionary. It’s junk in a bright box that has laughable performance.

I'm going to leap in and defend the Rabbit R1 as an ordinary user here, someone who has the device and is not sponsored by Rabbit or competing companies providing similar services. The problem is that they promised things that did not work on release, but what it does do, it does very well. Push to talk AI responses on basically anything, identifying plants and other objects in photos (I have learned so much about local plants!) , timers and alarms (recently added), AI-versions of photos you take ("Magic Camera"), and translation, as shown in this video, where it worked flawlessly. Sound recording, with transcripts and summary. Summarizing documents and signs in any language (well, a large number). I had a physical document in Japanese, I asked it to tell me what it was about, and it did. I put my phone SIM in it, and it works flawlessly as an autonomous device, no need to bring your phone. All for $US200, no subscription? Pretty good, if you ask me! People who say, "I can do all this on my phone" are missing the point. Yes, you could, with a lot of apps and messing around. The battery life has been fixed, now, BTW, in a recent update, and I can confirm this.

Rabbit AI sounds like a knock off of Google Assistant on NEST.
It would talk around a subject and not answer the question.
The Rabbit case looks like its 3D printed....Fisher toy like in appearance.
It's bad when employees are sending codes to hacker groups.

I remember trying some sort of online demo of theirs meow. The AI when I told him my species, cat, correctly generated a picture of me, but for some unknown reason drew a stick figurine of a hooman.
The object identification issues are due to the system they’re using on the backend, not the device itself. I’ve found that GPT-4 to be the best describing system by far. They should give you an option to choose different systems rather than using their own or contracting with one single provider.
The thing is, you *can* use GPT-4 on the rabbit, you just have to precede all of your requests by saying "Beta rabbit." Not that it markedly improves the results, in my experience, unfortunately
I'm glad I bought my R1, but astonished at how bad it is. 😅 My plan is to flash it with android and turn it into a dashcam/GPS unit. Do you have any recommendations on dashcam apps?
I have one, camera is ok I wouldn’t recommend doing that, also I can’t get mine to navigate anywhere lol
@@shlomoi9404 are you using stock android? I wouldn't trust the included software for anything. Most dashcams have horrible cameras anyways.

I got one and got my mom to get one biggest letdown of the year fingers crossed we get learning mode at some point! If you root it and run android can you revert back to the rabbits OS?

I asked my rabbit to tell me what kind of rock was in frame, a close-up shot. It told me that it was not a rock but a potato.. I tried a different rock with a different color and shape. It told me that it was not a rock but, in fact, an egg.

the only ai assistant with a character and own animations and no emotionless chatbox like googles ai...or alexa..., i love to use my r1 for story telling and rpg d&d games and even create some own games like ghoul mansion and the rabbit r1 even let me play as dungeonmaster and make the rules and can roll a dice and stuff with the rabbit together, i love to see my ai assistant and hear its cute voice way more than a cold emotionless chatbox with limits or expensive payplans like humane pin(24$ in month lifelong!), chat gpto (21$ in month lifelong!) and others, atleast the r1 is free for forever and always there for us and the r1 battery is not that bad, they improve it and my r1 was after 22 hours 100% still charged with 76% and with casual usage allday he made it 1-3 days depending on usage.
Putting android on the r1 with only 1000mah battery seems like a suicideplan for his battery and sounds very unhoppy /:

It is a piece of junk. I was in the group of the first 100K buyers and received a free 1 year subscription of Perplexity. I waited for the arival of the R1 before activating the subscription and then found out it's use isn't integrated in any way with the R1???? The interface only supports English which I also find anoying. It has been of no use for me and I do not expect it to be of any use in the future. And the support desk does not react to questions anymore......
The perplexity not being supported was definitely a kick in the gut… ruined all my plans for this otherwise useless alexa clone. At least siri works on mobile.

Sounds like it has the typical AI hallucinations possible even though it went through an update, it does not have enough data to be accurate.
It's an app that runs on yet another device that needs to be charged and carried. My phone already does basically everything this thing does. And I'm sure I can find an app that covers whatever else Rabbit claims to be able to do in the future. Hard pass from me. Thanks, Shannon!

This has to be the dumbest device I've ever seen constructed... Not just WTF, but also a lot of W-H-Y?
because not everyone want to pay 21$ monthly for a ai subscription plan forever and the r1 is a cute lil hoppy helper with character animations and stuff instead of a emotionless cold chatbox...or worse...alexa. The r1 is actually really helpful when you know how to use him right, as example for game devolpment writing stories or translate the texes ingame from my language to others ( he translates better than goggle translator) he is also childrenfriendly because its cute and fun to use very refreshing vs 0815 phones without innovation.
