another simple straight ahead tune. i think the title was inspired by John Mcglaughlin because he has a song with that name, but don't quote me. this song was also inspired by a tone row, but you can't tell. sometimes i would write in strict tone-row style, but usually i would use it as melodic or harmonic inspiration to generate content, and then abandon the row and be off and running. one of the many techniques i use to completely avoid so-called 'writers block', which i've never had. in 2017, a particularly prolific year for me, i wrote upwards to 15 songs a month, sometimes 2-3 in a sitting. i found waiting for 'inspiration' to fall out of the sky to be a very bad approach, rather favoring the generation of material from many different invented methods, and then the subsequent crafting of that source material using ones natural arranging and honing techniques that you would have if you compose to be much more productive.
