I had the Privilege of meeting Paul after his concert at Skipper Smokehouse in Tampa, Florida. I was just expecting to go up and ask for an autograph and a picture and got way more than I expected. He actually took the time to talk with me and did not rush myself nor anyone else away to get the next person up. He is a very down to earth, good person and truly understands that it is his fans that put him where he is. More famous entertainers could learn a LOT from this man. He will go far and be listed among the greats when all is said and done.
I appreciate the honesty and talent of Paul Thorn. Had a chance to meet him recently. Thanx Paul for your spreading joy, friendship, and you talent in music.
Somebody told me about Paul Thorn in the most original place: playing a videogame online with an older gentleman from the USA. I’ve always loved his special touch and his own way of making things sound easier and more beautiful than they have ever sounded before. God bless.
I just came across Paul's music about a week ago when I heard, "I don't like half the folks I love". What a fantastic song. So now I am binging on Paul Thorn. I wonder if his concerts are still as good as what folks said they were 6-10 years ago? This was a good interview.
Just saw him for the first time in Baton Rouge last week. I was looking at Kristin Diable's tour schedule a couple months ago and saw she was opening for him. Had never heard his name. Bought tickets to see her, and then started listening to him, and haven't stopped yet. His show was awesome. I haven't laughed that hard in years, and his music fills the hole in my heart that John Prine's death left.
@@stephenmorrow3707 I am really glad you got to see Paul in concert. I have now seen him twice and the only negative thing I can say is I wish the concert lasted longer. I love his music style and his lyrics are so honest. He has a good heart.
I too have seen Mr. Thorn perform live several times solo and with his awesome band. I discovered him about ten years ago or so and he has been an inspiration to me as a person and as an artist. I've purchased each of his albums and given them as gifts to friends as well. I too am a performing artist and his music has touched me, and my wife, in many ways. He is so unique and special. I have also met and spoken with him a number of times and he, as others have stated, is very personable and charming. If you want to see him at his best watch his solo, and duo, concert at Hippy Jack's. I think that concert is a good example of his excellence when it comes to delivery and ability to capture his audience. Anyway, he is a classic example of class, good musicianship, and songwriting. I asked him and his manager if I could open a show for him but have not received an answer on that yet. I'm an original artist who's opened shows for about twenty-five or thirty major artist during my career but hopefully before I pass on I hope that I can have the honor of performing before Paul. I have terminal cancer and that sure would be a dream come true for me. No, I'm not a "groopie" so to speak, but I sure do love the man and his music. God bless him and his band. If you get a chance don't miss the opportunity to see him do his thing. :)
That is the very best saying I have heard. I heard Paul say this on another interview and I havebeen looking for it again and here I find this interview. I am located in louisiana and I wonder what is the closest place he comes to louisiana. Furthermore I would like to know of places he will be playing anywhere in Mississippi and I will go see him. I really enjoy his music. Bull mountain is my favorite because every Wednesday night there is this guy has a band gathering and pot luck and a few of us guys and ladies go and fellowship and my friend sings Bull Mountain and I love it. We have some great turnip greens corn bread deviled eggs, brisket boiled cabbage gumbo potatoe salad, sweet tea, and pies and cakes. It is the GREATEST.
@@patrickbink4617 I would like to have a bumper sticker of his but Iam far away from his concerts. I will gladly pay for it , where can I buy one please?

The host here is Jon Hart.
There's something morally, ethically and just "human-wrong" if you don't appreciate Paul Thorn!
When did Paul Thorn die?
