This video reminds me of a family trip to Mount Reiner National Park about 25 years ago. They were having a heat wave and the snow was melting like mad in the higher elevations. Trees and brush and rocks about 20” in diameter were rushing down stream. You could hear a low frequency rumble and feel the ground shaking! What a memorable experience. Nice video!
The footage was taken about a mile up the canyon from Eben G. Fine on the first big left turn after the "Dome" climbing area at the turnout. The mudslide is covering the bike path as it flows into the river.
Amazing footage! We're getting some intense rain here in Colorado Springs as well (not as bad) but still have some massive flooding. Hope your home is safe as well as you and your family!
Nature in the raw is seldom mild. I was expecting the two trees at the top of the fresh scarp to fall down and gradually slide into the river as well. But they didn't.
Hello, my name is Kerry and I work at 9NEWS in Denver. Do we have permission to use this information on air and online? Thanks in advance. Great video!
Howdy. Thanks so much for letting us use this footage for the music video for Blackbird and The Storm. The video is being premiered today on Clash Music (UK Music website) and can be seen here: vimeo.com/digabyte/blackcrowpromo Thanks again!
I was infront of a mud slide a few weeks ago. I think I know what your thinking. I crossed the river with a basket tied to my hip. I put off to the side 912 pounds of gold. Then I came back at night with weighters to take my gold. Can you imagine the value of gold, $450 @ ounce $7200 @1 pound times 912, equals Six million, five hundred sixty six thousand, four hundred dollars. Thats in 2 hours. I found more where the mud met the water. Lets say, I'm now worth more the Ms. Loreal. The billionaire hair dye and other products lady. May I say it's a beautiful life...
Hey thank you for the excellent footage of this event by mother nature. Excellent video you did a great job except for removing the camera when you were cleaning the lens. Would’ve liked to of seen you zoom in on where the hill was falling down b Thank you for posting this beautiful video. I never get to see anything cool like that.
Wow why sit there in a car watching that landslide when the water level seems to be rising? Must be mad get out of there now.i certainly wouldn't like to live there..feel sorry for the people that do live there..
I was thinking the same thing.... seen plenty of other vids in which the whole side of the mountain comes down -right across the river and fills the valley up...
Hi Damon, I work for a Montreal-based production company called Pixcom. We're currently producing a documentary series about firefighters in Alberta and we're interested in using your video in one of our episodes. Would you be open to that? You can reach me at nchsherbik@pixcom.com Thanks!

thanks that you both can look at it in a silence, without screaming ' oh my goooood' all the time...
so its not just me who finds this sort of commentary, the repeated OMG in some vids very annoying
Actually there was a lot of ‘Oh my God’ going on faintly in the background 😏.
Agreed!!!
Someone smack that lady that can't stop saying OMG!

my hometown of Nederland .. Have been down this canyon a million times. great footage. how sad.
At least someone around here knows about Liquefaction.
Reminds me of the next morning after drinking too many IPA's!
Thanks, Damon! We will give you credit as well. Glad your'e safe and thanks for sharing.
I'm curious why someone was screaming and sounded like she was crying. Are there houses up there that we just can't see? Either way, great video!
Some people can’t help but make a stressful situation more stressful
AT least they are on the right side of the river?
Excellent video, thank you. Stay safe.
Way cool. Thx for sharing

Thank you for not yelling
Scary place to be parked, if that whole hill side gave out at once.
Great video - thanks for posting.
Nice vid, i like this
Wow! I just saw a clip of your video on the Weather Channel last night! Guess they picked it up from 9NEWS in Denver.
HI, where were you parked? Wasn't there concern that the road would wash out from beneath you? Amazing footage, btw
Amazing video
I remember that day, too. It was rather traumatizing....
Did you ever wonder if the hill behind you might start doing the same thing?
Its all about the footage baby!
I did!
what a powerful video
You know if that whole hillside decided to just let go you'd be.... Well screwed to say the least. Cool video though ;)
Oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god. MAN created god
Hi Jeremy, go for it! Let me know if you need the original file.

He said Holly cow
I couldn't find the holly cow i look everywhere and still couldn't find the dam cow 🐮🐮🐮
i remember this very well
For now it's only earth and trees that slide away.
There go all the fish.
Гениально😍
cool vid.
Tree felling without lumberjacks. They will be stripped of branches and bark before long.
The video is actually from late Thursday before they closed the canyon.
That rock on the left at 1:03 must be 10-12' across!
I don't think much of the flooding really made it past the mountains to the Colorado river. It all flowed out east and flooded a bunch of rivers .
It's how Gold replenishes the river. 😉 That's all I see here. $ lol
