I have a player who in an upcoming Wildemount campaign is going to play a Dragonborn Wizard who survived the fall of Draconia and was taught magic by Essek (with some influence from Raistlin from Dragonlance). Like Essek he's going to start in a dark place, having lost most of his family in the fall of Draconia and driven by dark ambition. The plan is for Essek, and his own group of friends, to pull him out of that darkness, Essek paying it forward and helping someone like the Mighty Nein and Caleb did for him.

It feels like a storybook, one that Professor Widogast keeps on the shelves of his classroom. It's the story he tells to pull his troubled students from the brink that he lost himself to long ago. On a lighter note, Jester killed it with the illustrations! Great work guys!
This is fantastic! Such a good choice of song and you really captured Essek's journey. The bit at 2:15 with the Nein and "I think you'd rather they hate you but I don't think they do" got me crying a little bit. I also love that the group hug closeup at the end includes both Jester and Caleb, I feel like they were both especially critical to his arc. Excellent work all around!
i adore discovering niche(at least to me) fandoms. i have no idea what's happening/what this is from/inspired by, but i'm having a blast and it's breathtaking.
Its telling the story arc of a would be villain if not for the main charcters finding him and showing him love and friendship which he never experinced in his life before, finally bringing back from the brink and him finding a family and a lover, its a bueatiful story arc.
I participated in PMV MAPs like this in the very early 2010s and it's so nice to see them come back around. The artistry of illustrators needs to be recognized more again in the animation community on here. Fantastic work for all of those involved and thank you, FieldTowns, for providing links so we can follow them.
I’ve never heard of these characters or this world before, but I stayed for the art. And I am so glad I stayed. This is really, REALLY a well done!! I love everyone’s art style and how each characters looks in every distinct style! Seriously, this is awesome!
Characters are from a dnd streaming group known as Critical Role. The characters are from their second campaign with a party named the Mighty Nein. It really is amazing art. They post their campaign on RUclips if you ever want to get into it. Each episode shows the fanart during the break. I really recommend the show but understand it can be overwhelming.
This is absolutely incredible and you can absolutely see the amount of passion poured into it by all the participants. Thank you guys so much for making this. It is beautiful.
I started playing my first character for the exandria setting. Playing in the netherdeep module. I play a water genasi from a noble family out of Port Damali (more like long time successful merchants? Since I couldn’t decide what being a noble in the menagerie coast meant) who left home to escape a Myriad member who took personal offense to him after being bested in a sword fighting contest during a public spar at a festival. The Myriad member kidnapped and tried to sell him into slavery but my character’s pirate friend saved him before that was managed. Rather than return home, and possibly have his Revelry connection discovered (among other intrigue reasons I won’t get into here) he decided to leave for a life of adventure with his pirate friend who decided to accompany him. He then formed up with a party of other nobles who had decided to become adventurers along with their friends. Namely we have a necromancer wizard who is a reborn (decided this over using hollowed one). And Paladin/bard sea elf who ran away to the circus. One has a knight accompanying them and the other a priest they once helped out of a terrible life situation. The palibard is from the dwendolyan (did I spell that right?) empire. We made ourselves into a party and we start the module by joking we got on the wrong boat and ended up in Jigow. We had intended to take a vacation as a party anyway so we decide to make do and join the festivities, especially given my character and the palibard are fun loving and laid back, the kind who just vibe if they can and love a good competition or interesting adventure. Lol we actually befriended the rival party pretty fast this way though our necromancer nearly insulted them before palibard and I whined at the workaholic that he promised to let us have a vacation instead of think about work. Which ended up amusing the rival party members again according to dm. Anyway, so yeah that’s my exandria character. Oh! I forgot to mention my subclass or even class. I play a samurai fighter. He loves a good competition and is always seeking out more skilled individuals to pit himself against. He actually loves when good people beat him in a competition and he and palibard are always making mischief in the background with arm wrestling competitions or other childish games like that. He can be charming in his own way but he is mostly focused on bettering his own skills than currying favor which has led to ruffled feathers. Mechanically he is the frontliner of the party. As for those others? Well we got three sidekick npcs. The pirate is an expert classed sidekick who functions as our rogue. The priest is, of course, our spellcaster sidekick class. And the knight is our warrior class sidekick who helps with the frontline though mostly he functions as being the bodyguard of our wizard. Palibard and priest are the buffers/debuffers/healers of the party as it’s the focus the player wanted to give a shot at and we figured why not. Anyway, yeah so this is my exandria party. Looking forward to how this turns out. Not sure how much critical role Easter eggs our dm will add or not as they aren’t much of a critter and the other two are completely unfamiliar with the stories of critical role (though are aware of them and the influence). Pretty much I’m the only critter but that’s fine by me. I want to see how my dm runs this. Should be fun!
Soo…might have been insulted by the rival party? So we didn’t talk to the jigow guy with the vision but we had the item from the race. When the rival party, who we were traveling with, said they found my character suspicious for not talking or trusting an authority figure of the town, my character got offended and went from being the one who would ask each of them to dance as the palibard performed for the night to being the actual angry one. To be fair, they called him a coward and thought he would abandon his party and friends and so my character got offended mostly for that because he is far from that type of person. Also they genuinely thought he should have trusted the authority figure of the town before he explained that his home town has a reputation of a person being able to buy anything, including another’s morals, so he has more than enough reason to not have assumed a stranger he met less than a day ago was someone he could trust with a strange artifact that gave him and his party a horrible and strange vision and was in a hidden but obviously sacred space, one that the people of the town did not seem aware of. For that reason he didn’t want the knowledge to spread and he got mad at the rival party for spreading it to someone they simply assumed they could trust. Anyway, just clashing of principles. He intends to show he isn’t a coward next fight with all he has got, it might have him being a bit reckless however. Ah well. Talked to the party already about it since I’m the main frontliner (palibard leans more into bard than Paladin) so they are aware on how it might adjust some of my strategies. Probably not by much though.

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS???!?!?!? I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THIS WAS HAPPENING WTF!!!!?!!?? THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!! the song is great the choices of like parts to lyrics was great the art!!!!!! oh my goodness the art. literally there were no weak parts everyone pulled out all the stops it literally is so high quality!!!! bravo everyone!!! bravo!!!
This video is fantastic and that's only because I can't think of a better word than. Since people are talking about past and future wildemount characters I guess I can talk about mine. Colt Ceradin is an Aasimar born to a human mother an elven father in the city of Uthadurn. His father was a blacksmith who served the temple of Moradin by arming and armoring the the Clergy. Colt often worked with his father and because of that he gained a large amount of respect from both smiths and the clergy eventually taking vows and becoming a forge cleric himself. When he was 17 he burned himself on a white-hot blade which gave him prophetic visions of warriors clad in and wielding powerful artifacts. This jump started his need to adventure for 7 years he looked around the graying wildlands and northern empire for any sort of lead on artifacts of this asort but came up rather eventually coming across a temporary caravan town belonging to a traveling carnival. The carnival had stopped due to many performers contracting some sort of illness. Whatever it is it didn't seem to affect those with Elven blood and being a priest Colt decided to help while and while he couldn't cure the disease out right he did know a bit about medicine from his training. However as it turned out the caravan was also being extorted by a group of bandits for "being on their turf" and "needing to pay rent". After staying with these folks for the better part the year he gave became very protective of them often trying to get the bandits to lighten up and on some occasions that worked until one day they attacked a female carnival performer. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for Colt. He told any man or woman in the carnival who had anything resembling combat skill to bring him as much iron and steel as they could and spent 6 days making as many weapons as he could. Eventually when the bandits came back they were met by a very pissed off cleric and a bunch of carnies who were equally so. Colt ended up fighting the bandit leader of the who was a dishonorable bastard and drew a gun on a man wielding scimitar. But eventually one of the carnies sniped the bandit leader with a bow and Colt claimed his gun using it to scare off the others. However victory for him was pretty short-lived as one of the bandits chose not to run and ended up attacking him with a sword taking his right arm clean off. But the ringmaster of the carnival came in with a whip and was able to knock him off a cliff. Colt then in a bit of role reversal was forced to heal up himself he also began practicing with the firearm and it turned out he had a bit of natural skill with it. Colt was then offered a chance to stay with the carnival but chose to continue on his journey. After all there are powerful artifacts and people who need help and Colt intends to find both! He is level 3 and a Forge Cleric 2/Fighter 1 multiclass with the intent to eventually go Gunslinger.
