Super cool car, real sleeper, and a real humble guy. I have more respect for a person like that who builds a car like that, then someone who goes to the dealership and buys one.
I don't love the model of car but great choice for this feature. The vid title says rusty. I'm not seeing any visible rust? In fact it's freakin' mint. The car is smooth swift and quiet. For what it's getting done on the quarter, salute man.
Super cool car! And damn 8’s on a 26x8.5 tire! Impressive! I remember this guy he was running an isky cam guess he stepped up his game ! Love this setup!
It's really cool to watch a car start after the first one is halfway down the track and crosses the line first, but the second car does the trip in less time with a higher top speed and wins. That car is a year older than I am. I wish I was that fast.
I remember seeing a clip of this guy's car a few years ago, It is A bad boy, My mother when I was a boy drove a 53 or 54 Chevy, Love that car what a sleeper😊😊😊
I've really been into 50's cars lately. They're built like absolute tanks. They usually seem to have a boxed frame, some have dual wishbone front suspension. Cars actually kinda went to shit in the 60's. By the time your done adding chassis reinforcements to a Camaro or a Mustang they usually weigh as much as this Chevy anyway. I really want to build a 51-54 Ford Customline Coupe.
@@shitbox7413 Brake drums and pads got smaller, they started making steering really numb and awful. I hear tale one of the Alphabet Agencies sent intelligence agents into highschool and college shop classes in 1958 and told all the kids to be mechanics because they were going to start building the cars with planned obsolescence to make jobs and keep the car business going. I think all that ended up happening was a bunch of people died in horrible piles of shit. Then they pinned it on us with higher insurance rates. I'm so sick of every facet of my life being controlled and manipulated by these people somehow.
Nice car! In the 70s a friend had a '50 Chevy coupe with a 400 GTO engine 400 trans and 4.56 posi, it was a pretty quick car compared to the original 216/6 and 3 speed.
Pretty neat, but I just can't come to terms with an LS motor in one of these vintage style cars. It would have a traditional small block in it if it were mine. They still go just as fast.
I don't like et bracket racing. I like to see heads up. Take off at the same time. Dang the other car was almost at the finish line by the time the 53 started
I thought I heard a GARBAGE LS as that boat anchor left the line ABSOLUTELY A DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER. DNF even watching the vid; dont care HOW cathedralled the ports are or how good they flow. To my ear they always sound like an Olds engine. Not that there is anything wrong with an Oldsmobubble, but if I want that sound I would just build one. That fine old Chevy at least deserves a freaky, sick 409 or the largest BBC its Dad can procure with about a 400 shot added. How else do you think Farm Truck can run 8's? Melon Farmer would carry both front wheels halfway down the track.
Turbo, chute, slicks and fender skirts! Good lookin ol Chevy. Too cool.
People like you restore my faith in humanity!!!😊

This is that car runners needed in prohibition times👌
Ever Zamora, No shit! 😄👍🏻
Right but new even this car would be at least 20 years too late lol

Driver's side fender, edge of hood same side, and just above back bumper.

Saw this car in the background of the 4-door chevelle video and am stoked it got it's own video!
Love it! Always loved sleepers and as its a early 50s Chevy, looking like a real survivor, is awesome.

Scott is a nice down to earth Dude . I ran 2015 Drag week with him . Its the sleeper of all sleepers
IS THIS 1/8 MILE TRACK?
My mom’s first car, a brand new black and white 54 Chevy. RIP mom.
Has 54 tail lights.
I remember seeing a clip of this guy's car a few years ago, It is A bad boy, My mother when I was a boy drove a 53 or 54 Chevy, Love that car what a sleeper😊😊😊
Yeah man.... watched that guy at drag week... just looking at that car you would never suspect that big ride would run like it does, crazy quick
Definitely a sleeper. Wow! Good time to run your best time too.
I remember seeing this car back with the 5.3. SOOO cool. So much faster now.
Awesome car with a cool story. Great video.

Obd1andDown, I’ve seen some frame welding from the 60’s that was frightening, amazing the shit has held together for 50 years.

Thank you for the coverage! Great video!!
I met him in Charlotte, Nc. this summer. He and his friends were very nice.Does anyone know what rear end gear ratio it's running.
3.50 now. And it’s been mini tubbed. Kept the skirts. Runs a 275 pro tire. Went 5.39 @130 two months ago.
Like seeing older HEAVY cars doing 8’s or better.
WowHe’s pretty consistent with the 8.6’s
Tail lights look to be a54 did you change them?
Do 53s have one piece windshields?
Great content as usual thank you
Im a Fords guy and I LOVE this car!!!
How fast would it go? W/out bumpers? They are heavy.
the tail lights are 1954.
I thought 53s have split windshields.
I've seen this car run. Amazing for such a heavy car on 8.5 tires. Anyone know what rear gears he runs?
That big girl is running on them skinny tires! Old school with a new heartbeat.
I don't like et bracket racing. I like to see heads up. Take off at the same time. Dang the other car was almost at the finish line by the time the 53 started
Please make a playlist of ONLY DRAG WEEK please
Got to know Scott what an awesome guy
Sure looks like tail lights off a 54? Definitely a sleeping giant!
Good eye,the lights and grills were interchangeable.I was 4yrs old when it was built in the factory.
Damn that thing moves for almost 4000lbs
Best sleeper ever is. THE FARM TRUCK.
That's the deal, It grabs traction and track, not slipping around or spinning wheels.
I love them fat fender cars especially when they're fast great video keep up the good work
The front plate with the flex fuel emblem,. Character’
Pro Sled?
Name of the song at the end of the vid?
A fast car! Glenn
It's the fastest car I've ever seen with fender skirts, who knows, it may improve aerodynamics
1954, not 1953 !
53 grilled, 54 taillites
Why wait so long after Green light…
It’s a 54 Bélair not 53

*Looks down, shakes head* "I can't believe it, I got my a$$ kicked by pops and his car from back in the day."
A Hellcat pulls next to him at a light and the uccupants chuckle.........then, the light turns green, as do they...........
Bad ass🎉
it is a 1954 chev
54 taillites, 53 grille
I thought I heard a GARBAGE LS as that boat anchor left the line

Looks like the car we were forced to go to church in I hate it
Looks like a 1954 chevy
What good is it if your in the 8’s, BUT YOU SLEEP ON THE LINE? ? ? VERY disappointing! ! !
Landfill material......
.
Whatever - just don't claim it's a sleeper. It's not.
.
Wonder what his time would be if a real driver was behind the wheel, he seems to be leaving late
Now go race farm truck 🛻
forza? lol
Without a doubt the ugliest car ever built...pitiful....junk
