    Fire ass video, top 5 big song for me. I like how the beat is so soft and calming and his lyrics completely juxtapose it by the hard struggles.

      Appreciate you checking out the video. I think the appeal with this song/ and album cover was just the opposite of what it appears to be. Even the artwork, a baby looking innocent whilst the songs tackles some of life’s darkest themes and this song epitomises that as you described. Top 3 tracks of The Notorious BIG without a doubt.

    I was hoping you had a lead on that horn stab in "Everyday Struggle". I've been curious if that's sampled or just some random horn stab from that era that everyone used back then.

    • @DJObiSmalls
      @DJObiSmalls  2 года назад +3

      Sup BDaMan?! I can tell you now, some intricate samples/ sounds, from this era especially, you will not find the route of them for legal reason - They will never be disclosed. I believe that it was a sample for sure but it’s a guess at best. Also, thank you for peeping the content.

      @@DJObiSmalls Yeah, I definitely tried to dig in a Facebook group I'm in for that horn stab and no one had any leads - probably for that exact reason. Definitely love the content! I've been peeping a lot of it here at work. It's keeping me in good spirits for sure.

      @@BDaManTheRapper Lol. Puffy paid too much money on legal fees for his copyright on Ready To Die so it's understandable that he doesn't disclose other samples. And appreciate the comment. Got an episode dropping now. Check it out if you can and let me know your thoughts.

      I think a sample by a group named Bridgeport had theirs removed from one of his tracks on ready to die after lawsuits any remastered versions took it off.

      I believe it was produced by the Blues Brothers. And probably were crate digging for sure. But Dave Grusin is a legend.

    Hey Obi, on step 2 did you mean increase speed by 1.5 or 15% or exactly what you said initially 15x?

    • @DJObiSmalls
      @DJObiSmalls  2 года назад

      Sup David?! The whole Sample Sessions series is done via DJing (as I am not a producer); all the instructions are DJ speak. So the "Speed" is accurate to DJ Decks. For Music Production programs, I think you would need to time stretch it (lol I am not sure if that makes sense but I think so).

      @@provid3nce989 Yeah totally, I was raised on Biggie and used to listen to all his stuff ever since his 1st album up until like 10 years ago, now I’m really against lyrics that talk about poc killing other poc cuz it just sounds crazy. And I think it was all a result of the jewish label owners convincing them to do it. And you never heard a rap song where they talk about killing racist white ppl, gotta wonder why
