I know this info from doing time (years ago. I am clean & sober now almost 20 years). Anyways, What really happens is when the child killer arrives at prison, she is placed in PC (protective custody), which is like the hole. It is not a good place to be 23 hr isolation. The only people in PC are child killers, rapists and rats. We had a mother who prostituted her 5 yr old daughter out to men for drug $come into the prison I was in.. It was a high profile case. After a few months, they tried to place this POS in general population, where the 1st few times it failed because inmates who remember them will beat them up and/or spit on them, etc..., so the POS will go back to PC. After a while though, the POS will join gen population with little or no repercussions from other inmates. Most forget them, as new child killers/abusers/rapists come in, inmates leave & new inmates come who don't know who they are, so they are placed with other lifers & just walk around prison like they didn't do anything that bad. I was shocked when someone pointed out all the baby killers/abusers/rapists, & their stories to me. These POS' were sitting in chow hall like everyone else, surrounded by friends. It's just shocking, but that is the sad truth. I saw it!

Worked with a guy who had alcohol problems. He was driving drunk one day and killed an elderly man crossing into his lane. He was remorseful and when he went to court told the judge he wanted no trial he was guilty and would accept any sentence the court gave him. That is what someone does when they regret their actions.

Look, my skipped 8th grade and graduated HS with honors and got a FULL ride to college. He was an “ old soul” with the most purest of hearts! We took every Thanksgiving to deliver meals to the home bound for him to realize how fortunate he was. And he enjoyed it ! After his 2nd semester in college he was introduced to recreational pain medication, which turned into a heroin addiction, unbeknownst to me. He was raised right!!! At the age of 19, after he flunked out of college, he moved back in with me and I made him get a full time job from a friend that owned an upscale restaurant. He was fired for stealing. He then did some kind of liquid LSD and was hallucinating and thought someone was “attacking me” and “tried to save me” and beat the heck out of me while I was in a deep sleep! Obviously he had to move out of my home. Unbeknownst to be his heroin use got worse! He was SO deep in his addiction that he NEEDED a fix and in desperation a dealer, in New Orleans, my home town, offered him heroin to shoot another drug dealer bc they were “fighting over a street corner”. My son deep in his addiction, took a gun and shot the guy 5 times in the back!!! Luckily my kid couldn’t shoot worth a crap, and NOT making excuses, but the guy got shot 5 times prior, but my son paralyzed this man. I couldn’t believe my son could carry on such an horrendous act! He was facing attempted 2nd degree murder! $50k later, he was put on probation. I “wish” I could say “lesson learned “, but it took him being shot, him look at 10-99 yrs in jail, and him finding God for him to FINALLY sober up! Btw, the guy that got paralyzed, he was shot 2 more times on his street corner and murdered. In some weird way, it made me feel better, bc I lived with guilt thinking, “what if this guy changed his ways and my son took away his quality of life?” I’m now experiencing my 1st grandchild in October! He has a VERY Christian name that means “the gift of life” and my son has dedicated his life to the Church, community service, helping high risk children, and is thriving! So, how can I have compassion for the mothers of these “criminals”, man, you never give up hope on your child! If you do, they are dead! The Bible teaches us forgiveness, not to make up excuses!

At the age of 19, after he flunked out of college, he moved back in with me and I made him get a full time job from a friend that owned an upscale restaurant. He was fired for stealing. He then did some kind of liquid LSD and was hallucinating and thought someone was “attacking me” and “tried to save me” and beat the heck out of me while I was in a deep sleep! Obviously he had to move out of my home. Unbeknownst to be his heroin use got worse! He was SO deep in his addiction that he NEEDED a fix and in desperation a dealer, in New Orleans, my home town, offered him heroin to shoot another drug dealer bc they were “fighting over a street corner”. My son deep in his addiction, took a gun and shot the guy 5 times in the back!!! Luckily my kid couldn’t shoot worth a crap, and NOT making excuses, but the guy got shot 5 times prior, but my son paralyzed this man. I couldn’t believe my son could carry on such an horrendous act! He was facing attempted 2nd degree murder! $50k later, he was put on probation. I “wish” I could say “lesson learned “, but it took him being shot, him look at 10-99 yrs in jail, and him finding God for him to FINALLY sober up!
Btw, the guy that got paralyzed, he was shot 2 more times on his street corner and murdered. In some weird way, it made me feel better, bc I lived with guilt thinking, “what if this guy changed his ways and my son took away his quality of life?” I’m now experiencing my 1st grandchild in October! He has a VERY Christian name that means “the gift of life” and my son has dedicated his life to the Church, community service, helping high risk children, and is thriving! So, how can I have compassion for the mothers of these “criminals”, man, you never give up hope on your child! If you do, they are dead! The Bible teaches us forgiveness, not to make up excuses!

I’m sorry, but if a family member of mine disregarded a human life, let alone a literal child life and me hearing the backstory of how badly and brutally they whooped her and basically broke every bone in her body I would have been sick to my stomach and would have said to hell with that family member and would have definitely been on the mother and child side.
