Hi, have you tried checking while hive is off if boiler is still igniting, if so the possible wiring issues or something could be faulty and require an engineer visit. JK
Hey, you should call a local heating engineer, alternatively you can call the Manufacturer Main Heating / Baxi to see if they can resolve the issue, providing its a boiler issue. All the best, JK
Good video. I have the same boiler and currently have hot water but no heating. Putting it in service mode like this has got my heating working again however and whilst in service mode it seems fine but the boiler cycles on and of with the flame. Otherwise when you call for heating from the wireless stat the actuator valve opens but the boiler doesn’t respond. No led light on heating. No pump running. Nothing. But when in service mode it’s all working fine and rads warm up. Any idea what’s up with it? Cheers
@@MyBoiler hi yes there are 2 zones. So the valves open and close for those fine when the should (suggesting the wireless controls are fine) but otherwise nothing from the boiler heating wise unless it’s in service mode. Cheers
In that case, you have a faulty zone valve head. Depending on brand. Get a replacement head, make sure the spindle moves freely ie system debris can make the mechanism seize and place extra pressure on the zone valve head. Technically the microswitch inside the valve is not being activated, usually due to zone valve head mechanism being faulty. You can try manual override on the zone valve very fast and you will hear a click and the boiler will come on briefly. JK
@@MyBoiler absolute superstar. Cheers buddy. I’d actually taken the valve head off a while back as it wasn’t playing ball so left it set open manually and it’d been fine. Just had a play with it though and hey presto! So basically the stats send a message to open the valve and it’s then the valve head unit itself that sends the message to start the boiler? I’ll get it fixed but out of interest is there a way you know of to turn the boiler on manually to start up the heating system. I guess I could rewire it but probably best to just sort the valve heads. Cheers again mate much appreciated 👍🏼
Hi MyBoiler, my parents have recently had this exact boiler installed and they have come across a problem whereby the boiler (central heating) is constantly running non stop 24/7. I'm unable to go to their house due to covid and after searching online I can't seem to figure out where the on/off timer is located on the boiler? I have asked my parents and they have confirmed that the boiler was not fitted with any remote timers or programmers and I'm asking is this incorrect? Do I need to contact the installer to come and install a remote timer / programmer to allow my parents to use the boiler in an on / off manor or are there such on/off controls on the boiler as standard. Your help is very much appreciated. Thanks Callum.
Hi Callum, just picked up your comment. There should be, by law, a Boiler Plus compliant room thermostat / timer attached to this Combi boiler. For example a Nest Thermostat would comply. There are others that would also comply. As part of the commissioning process and gas safe register notification (Building Compliance) you would have to have these items fitted. Best thing is to contact the installer and if he is not aware advise him of his legal duties according to Gas Safe Register. On the other hand if a compliant programmer has been fitted, there may be an issue with the boiler or possibly the wiring, again contacting the installer is the first option. Regards, Jayesh (MyBoiler Ltd)
Hi, it just means the burner is lit ie generating heat in the boiler. It would appear shortly after a heating or hot water request. See page 23 of the installation manual to show the symbols and their meaning. JK
If combi boiler lowest flow temperature possible that still allows the home to stay warm. If you have hot water cylinder then 60-65 degrees however you have to adjust cylinder stat accordingly.
sir, I have the same boiler installed at my place and always see that the heating sign always blinking, does that mean my heating is always activated? I can see that blinking even when the knob is at 12 o'clock, as I have seen a high bill even while I am not using heating that much .please tell me how to deactivate and activate the heating when need and even when the knob is at 12 o clock position the temperature on my display is always like 25 degrees. please reply and than you very much.
Hi, first of all do you have a room thermostat? If not, you need to get programmable room thermostat or similar and wire in correctly, removing the controls link if necessary dependent on connection type ie 230V or OpenTherm. Hope that helps. Jay.
Hi. I have this same boiler but it seems like it’s always on and the radiator image is flashing on screen even tho it’s set at the 12o clock position meaning off. Is there a way to switch this off. Also when using hot water my radiators warm up
Hi, we would highly recommend going with a modulating thermostat for optimum efficiency and longer boiler life. Have a look at the following article. myboiler.com/opentherm/opentherm-boilers-and-controls/ and myboiler.com/smart-heating/modulating-a-rated-boilers-with-smart-modulating-thermostats/ , the Hive is a good all rounder, however lacks OpenTherm. Jay.
Hi, you need to make sure and test you have power coming into the boiler and correctly connected. Also make sure the fuse is 3A max and working. This will likely need a professional unless you are competent and confident to work with basic electrics
Hi, there is no eco mode as such, however you may want to look at our article, section 2 could help you with efficiency. myboiler.com/money-and-energy-saving/?source=ytc, JK
Yes, For a hot water cylinder that's the recommended temperature 60-65 (Anti-legionella temperature). For a combi boiler the recommended hot water temperature is 43 degrees (Hot water isn't stored therefore does not need to be 60-65, although you are free to choose the temperature you like to have).

@@StudentLoanMillionaire Hi, we would recommend getting the heating engineer back that installed the boiler, not the builder, unless he is the qualified professional that fitted the boiler.
