The “Ch” in “challah” is not pronounced like the “ch” in “church”. It’s a very guttural kh/h. We do have it in Canada 🇨🇦

Jews not zionists!! Be careful with what you are saying. All those who live in Palestine are zionists, they are not to be trusted, because they don't live according the authentic jewish rules, therefore you should not be eating their food and accompany them

Besides Sam Mok how can you accept a stamp in your passport that says Israël. I could and will never do that. Palestinians are still being robbed, their olive trees are being burnt, their homes and land is being stolen by settelers. NEVER accept that as a human being, let alone if you are muslim! You should be ashamed of yourself and fear God

The Kubbeh is my favorite food, I am an Iraqian Jew and we eat this dish every friday afternoon.
However in my family it's not purple it's orange .
The purple you ate is based on beet , the orange is based on pumpkin and carrot I like both but the orange one is my favorite dish ever !

Friday is not the day of rest for Jews. Shabbos starts on Friday night, and extends until Saturday evening. Consequently, the best time to visit Mahane Yehuda is late Friday morning or early afternoon when crowds are doing their last minute Shabbos shopping.
The Shabbos bread is pronounced challah with a hard "ch." Pronounce it from the back of your throat.
The breakfast you ate is not the traditional Israeli breakfast. I think it may be Iraqi, based on what you said. There are quite a few Israelis whose families fled Iraq. The traditional Israeli breakfast consists of bread, cheese, fish salads, vegetable salads, fruit salads, yogurts, pastry, and of course coffee.
You should check out Ishtabach, a kosher Kurdish restaurant located next to Mahane Yehuda. They serve great meat pies.

Come to Israel, a small and diverse country where the bride drowned, streams, forests, waterfalls, talk fast and nature is very diverse. Beautiful and small cities of a small country, so in one day I will try to have 3 big cities in it. Street food Amazing food and gourmet restaurants. Amazing people, beautiful beaches. Modern hotels in Tel Aviv Boutique hotels in Jerusalem, History of museums in the markets, religion. And again about food in Anat Medina with amazing food (the most delicious in Tel Aviv (one of the best sushi and hamburger cities in the world) in Tel Aviv has it all) What is even more special about Israeli food is any type of food, French, Japanese, American, Israeli, Arab, Arab and more. Not to mention the weather can be pleasant and very warm and the atmosphere. I know I have already cooled it down but there are such nice and helpful people in Israel

the braided bread is called Challah. You can find it in the USA. On certain Jewish holidays, the Challah is round with raisins.

Great video. However, Friday is not Shabbat but the preparation day for Shabbat which begins at sunset on Friday and last 24 hours until sunset on the Sabbath which is Saturday. You'll need to finish shopping by mid afternoon as everything begins closing about 2 to 3 pm. Thank you for your video.

Hi there. My name is Janine Anbinder. I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
and raised by my father there.
I had a beautiful Bat Mitzvah growing up in Rio. At 18, I decided to move to Israel.
I had the opportunity to see that in such a small country, there were so many different Jewish cultures including Ashkenazy, Sephardic,
    religious, secular, and half-Jewish.
One of the first obstacles that I had to overcome was my NAME!
I had no idea that my name could be such a problem. Everywhere
I went, people would ask me: "do you know what janana means?" (Crazy in
arabic slang), or they would say "Janine from Janin" (very conflicted area in
    Israel).
When I called my friends from Brazil, they would ask me "are you
allowed to wear a bikini in Israel?",
"are you allowed to work?", "do you need to wear a wig?", "isn't it dangerous
to live in Israel?", "do you speak Jewish?" (I do speak Hebrew now), "Do you speak Arabic?".
All these questions made me laugh, because they had no idea how
    the Jewish life really is!
This is why I decided to create Jewnana! My goal is to show people that
being Jewish doesn't mean being boring! Being Jewish is Awesome!

It's not really "plain", thing is you tasted the regular Challah, which is basically "bread". But you should have tried the sweetened Challah, that is more like cake, and a million times better. It differs from the regular in the sense that it's a bit darker on the outside, and yellowish on the inside. Sweetened Challah is the usually eaten Shabbat Bread.
And it's prounounced Challah with flemch, not like you say "china".

Challah bread is awesome. But it's pronounced more like Holla. The "ch" is on the back of the tongue, almost in the throat. Like L'Chaim.
