@@blockin9556 I think it would be a good idea to bulldoze nighthawk and put a modern wooden coaster, and then RMC hurler, because hurler does actually appeal to the people in the general public that don't want to ride a giant ride, but they want something that is kind of thrilling but not to small. Every time I go to Carowinds hurler always has a line.
Carowinds is my home park. The next coaster really needs to be a wooden or RMC coaster. Ever since they took away Thunder Road, Carowinds is long overdue for a new wood coaster!
As someone who’s home park has been Carowinds all my life, I honestly do not see Nighthawk going anytime soon. Airtime Thrills as far as what I’ve heard from the president and maintenance staff, they don’t plan on removing things from Caro unless needed. Even Thunder Road was getting kinda costly to maintain considering its average ridership
A B&M Flyer is the only replacement for Nighthawk that I can see people not getting upset over. The flying experience is iconic. As much as enthusiasts hate on Nighthawk, the general public really loves this ride (and frankly I do too) and anything short of a direct upgrade is probably gonna be a tough sell.
Vortex is honestly tied for worst ride in the park, along with Hurler. Vortex never has a line but somehow takes 20 minutes minimum to get on, for an -at best- painful experience. Vortex is a pretty small coaster so trying to find a coaster that fits in its old plot and is worth investing time and money into, that at the same time will draw people into the park would be difficult and probably not worthwhile at all. That being said getting rid of Vortex and Nighthawk at the same time would allow Cedar Fair to have a ton of room to work with to build, essentially whatever they want. You essentially accomplish 3 things with this - 1) You get rid of Vortex, a very unpopular ride that draws virtually no guests to the park. 2) You get rid of Nighthawk, a ride that has capacity issues and is at the end of its service life. 3) You add a large, new ride that will compete with Afterburn, Intimidator, and Copperhead Strike as the 2nd best coaster in the park. However I don't think Goldrusher would bite the bullet as it is the last original roller coaster to the park, and fits nicely into the Boardwalk and County Fair areas of the park as a low intensity family ride.
I actually quite enjoyed hurler. Despite it being rough. A good warmup for afterburn. But so far the two times I went to carowinds, it’s been fury first so my third time, you already know what I’m hitting up first.
MAKE THIS A SERIEEES!!! Maybe something for cedar point? Maybe Gemini or Iron Dragpn at Cedar Point or something in Canada’s wonderland like removing flight deck or something!
I'm gonna be sad to see Nighthawk go. I remember Carowinds first getting it back when I was in elementary school, and all the agonizing years I had to wait before I was finally tall enough to ride it. Sure it's rough and janky these days, but there's really no replacing that stunning feeling you get the first time you get to the top of the lift hill and you get flipped into the flying position high up in the air, especially if you've never ridden a flying coaster before. That's not a feeling any of the B&M flyers really recreate since they lift you in flying position already. Also afaik that building behind Nighthawk is only a haunted house used during Scarowinds. It's probably easily replaceable, if it needed to be scrapped.
Since Carowinds is my home park this video caught my interest straight away! I would like to see a B+M wing coaster in Nighthawk's plot of land. And after that exists for 3 or so years, I would love to see a Gerstlauer Infinity or a B+M dive coaster in the land that Vortex and Carolina Goldrusher sits.
To everyone saying 'didn't know it was being removed' or 'it's still around haha': he never said that it's being removed right now. Carowinds has not made such an announcement, he's just saying it's very likely given all the maintenance issues these Vekoma Flying Dutchmen have. Calm down everyone
The problem with attacking Smiler's record is Smiler itself. You advertise this as the world record and people will google what held it before. This of course leads to Smiler's 2016 incident. While I do think Cedar Fair will attack this record sooner than later, I cant see them doing it at a park like Carowinds. Carowinds seems to me as their nest egg park. They want to build it up to be a Southern Cedar Point but it currently does not have the same level of reverence.
As my home park, I honestly don’t want NightHawk to go. Is it a great coaster? No. But is it a bad coaster? No. Orion took a Flying Dutchman already. It has a legacy to continue. I honestly don’t want it to go. But I think it’s not gonna survive much longer. Vortex may leave soon as well. If it were to leave, I hope it’s replacement would be good.I hope it’s legacy stays.
You really opened my eyes and got me thinking on this one. Here is what I would do (8-10 year plan): - RMC Hurler - Remove Vortex, Nighthawk, and Carolina Gold Rusher -Add a GCI Wooden Twister Coaster (similar to a Gold Striker/Thunderhead) - Add another coaster- I would go with either the RMC Raptor, slightly larger model than RailBlazer or go with the new Intamin model This would mean the line-up at Carowinds would be (It gives them a real solid Top 7): Fury 325 Intimidator Copperhead Strike Afterburn RMC Hurler RMC Raptor GCI Twisting Wood Coaster Flying Cobras Carolina Cyclone Woodstock Express Kiddy Hawk Riccochet Wilderness run
The time and effort to record and get the google maps images must have been a pain in the ass. Seriously makes the video 100000000% better though, giving actual visual perspectives instead of, "Well, maybe" type stuff. When it comes to coaster content you are #1 by a mile. Keep it up Chris!
How about Anaconda at Kings Dominion? That coaster is certainly on its way out, is pretty close to the old Volcano plot, and creates an interesting dynamic with the lake it sits on. There are certainly a lot of possibilities there!
Im quite emotional, actually. This was my first "Real" rollercoaster after Carolina Cobra, (Now The flying cobras) even though it was incredibly painful, itll always have a special place in my heart. :( sad to see it go.
Its not going yet, dont worry! I think it has a few more years since we just got Copperhead Strike. Carowinds hasnt even said anything about it closing
1. What would you personally like to see come to the plot of land Chris? 2. I feel that Nighthawk and Vortex should both get the axe. They both give off a cheapness feel to the park, and it’s weird to have a park trying to go in the world class destination route when you have rides like those. 3. Personally, something with a lot of inversions and great views would be nice!
You came up on my recommended list! I have lived and still lives in Charlotte, NC! My church’s main campus is like 3 minutes away, the KFC that’s been there before has been torn down, and between Carowinds and Cabella’s, there is Moe’s VERY FIRST RESTAURANT WITH A DRIVE THRU with a touchscreen menu system for the drive thru! Also, a couple years ago, there used to be a BIG outlet mall sitting where Cabellas is at, which got torn down. And if you’re curious as to if I’ve visited there, I been there 4 times in my life. Also, if you go on to the intersection of Carowinds Blvd and Choate Circle, there’s used to be a ride of what I believe used to be called Thunder Road which got torn down and that area has become the additional of the swimming pool! Great job with the video! 😍😉
I like how he said (thunder)head and gold(striker) back to back, talking about a ride that would be built right next to intimidator, 3 years before (Thunderstriker) happened…
Nighthawk should be preserved and overhauled. Because its the world's first flying coaster. Just because Vekoma doesn't make parts for these rides anymore doesn't mean that another company can't give it a complete overhaul and improvement, which would add an additional 20 years to its operational life.
Right now I think Carowinds should focus on finding replacements for Dinosaurs Alive (which closed down a few years ago and is still vacant) and Thunder Rapids (which was also closed last year which surprised be very much as now they don't have any water rides at all). I think the GCI coaster would be a great addition of one of those areas instead. Unless Carowinds plans on bringing back that car ride that they took out for Dinosaurs Alive, maybe that would be the better location.
The lakes, which are the best part of Nighthawk, would be a problem for a wood coaster. They could also take out Vortex at the same time and combine the plots but then they'd have another coaster crossing state lines. Flying coasters suck but it is Vekoma that doesn't have a vertical loop in their most recent design, although it is still too inversion heavy and at least the most recent B&M has some airtime reportedly. Most of them are just for laughs and Nighthawk is plenty ridiculous... and gets some of the longest lines in the park.
Nighthawk by far is the most inconsistent ride in the park. I went this past Sunday and it wasn't even running. You will spend a half day at the park waiting in line if it is functioning. And yes Vortex needs to go as well.
My thoughts on your options: - I’m not a big fan of the woodies because I feel like they’re not as aesthetically pleasing as steel, especially the other options you proposed. Plus, neither would be record-breaking in the plot available. - An infinity makes sense because 10 inversions would break the US inversion record. Marketable as a dive coaster as well. - A raptor almost seems too small for Carowinds. Even Intimidator and Fury get long lines and a Raptor’s capacity would not work at all with how popular it would be. - A flyer doesn’t make sense because the general public wouldn’t see any difference between the two rides. - A dive would work great and be easily marketable in Carowinds’ location. - A wing would be nice but Wild Eagle already has the south’s wing records. - An axis would make sense but once again, seems kinda small for Carowinds’ popularity, unless a 4-seat model is developed. - For your wild card, anything that removes 3 coasters would make absolutely no sense, especially including Carolina Goldrusher, which serves as one of the park’s only family coasters, plus its oldest and most historic.
I'm just grateful I got to ride Firehawk and Nighthawk in my life. I'll miss the Vekoma Flyers but maybe a B&M flyer would replace it? Not sure, but a classic coaster for sure.
I think a GCI or Gravity Group would be the best course of action since the park needs another full-size wooden coaster that offers a different experience from Hurler.
Carowinds is my home park and I would like to see a good wooden coaster. Hurler just sucks. Boring layout and just rough as hell. I would gladly give up Vortex too to get a GCI , CCI, or a ground up RMC . To be honest, anything in your video would be better than Nighthawk.
It’s my home park as well, I’m not huge on the idea of a wooden coaster but boy would it be awesome if we walked through the Fury into a winged coaster
My home park too. Definitely think they should get rid of Vortex too. Gives them more room for potentially a bigger and better ride which I think that plot of land deserves Bcs it’s in the center of the park
@@lv2flip24 I remember that I use to like Vortex but I can't seem to get a good ride on it anymore. I always get my head banged around on the restraints. No fun. lol
They've also got a decent plot of land that they've been using for Dinosaurs Alive. That desperately needs something more substantial to fill the plot.
How about a new suspended coaster called Cannonball Theme: pirates Aspects: lots of airtime hills 2 helixes a close call curved drop into a tunnel themed like a cannon than mid course break run than waves to station Layout: out and back Colours brown rails and black support to rails seating 2 per row 4 per cart 5 carts ten rows Thoughts on the replies
That building you pointed out at 2:42 is used for the holiday events. One of the horror mazes for the Scarowins season season was held there last year. If needed, I could see it becoming a maintenance/storage area for whatever goes there next. Also scraping Carolina Gold Rusher? HERESY.
I honestly think it’d be awesome if they decided to scrap both Vortex and Nighthawk to look into a dueling RMC like Twisted Colossus at SFMM! It’d be like a homage to Thunder Road, but modern! 😁
Hey, you said 2 other Vekoma flying coasters were made, but it was 2 flying Dutchmans that were made. If you include F.LY. Though, there were 5 Vekoma Flyers made, just not all were the same model.
Thanks Chris, you jinxed us, not only did they Repaint the supports last off-season, they repainted the track this one and are putting in a new Control Panel. Don't see it going anywhere within the next 5 years. Unfortunately the GP loves Nighthawk 🤫
This. Nighthawk isn't going anywhere anytime soon. The line is always long with people waiting to ride. It might be getting old and a little painful but its a very unique and eye-catching coaster.
Since the dream answers of an RMC T-rex or a new Intamin prefab are pretty much out of the question, I'd love to see a Gerstlauer Infinity coaster. The US needs some Gerstlauers that are on the level of those found in Europe. I know we won't see anything like the incredible theming found at Hansa Park but maybe someone could build a Gerstlauer whose layout is that good.
The next best replacement coaster(s) have to be the Boomerangs right next to each other at SFNE. Now that's a longer, but not wide at all plot of land. And ANYTHING would beat what's there now.
Wish I had something more elaborate to comment, but just want you to know you're videos are very informative and help me be confident in my future as an engineer 🥺🌺
Cedar Fair loves working with B&M, and there are few coasters out there that are as pretty to look at, and fun for the GP, as what B&M sells. I'm betting on something from them for both Nighthawk's plot and maybe even Vortex at Kings Island
So Paramount scrapped the 2 other vekoma flying coaster they wanted for Kings Island and Kings Dominion and six flags got them instead but Kings Island ironically ended up getting it anyways..
Stealth was relocated for 2 reasons - Great America was the only Paramount park without a waterpark (Boomerang Bay was built including Stealth's footprint), and that Stealth had insane downtime at Great America, comparable to the likes of Goliath at SFNE.
I really can't see Nighthawk going before Vortex, but the local GP cannot stand Vortex, so it's a plot people keep an eye on. But, CF, if you're reading this: Give us that RMC raptor. Don't touch hurler, give us a raptor. That's what even the GP wants.
Personally, I have been saying to axe both Nighthawk and Vortex and replace them with a Floorless coaster. A good GCI would fit perfectly where Dinosaurs Alive was.
All of your picks seem like great fits. I’d probably go with either a GCI or an Infinity coaster. The Infinity is different from any other coaster in the park and it’s pretty common for Cedar Fair to build multiple woodies at one park.
I like your idea of getting rid of all three coasters and having a huge piece of land and putting in either a GCI or RMC. But like you say back to reality.
On the surface, a Mack Power Splash is a perfect fit for the park. Carowinds just worked with Mack to great success and does not have a single water ride. The only issue is that plot of land isn’t long enough to fit one. Maybe if the CF-Intamin relationship gets less frosty, one of those new Giga Splashes could be in the cards. A big coaster for Carowinds would be great in the near future. But, and I know this will be hard for coaster enthusiasts to hear... that park NEEDS a water ride now. A water coaster of some kind would be ideal.
I like the idea of having a Superman clone. Carowinds is also my home park, and while I just visited SF over GA and LOVED Superman, Nighthawk has just reopened after being down all season and still hurts every time I ride it. It definitely needs to go. Carowinds also definitely needs an RMC, but I do also love the idea of a B&M Wing going in that spot. Carowinds is also a B&M park in general, so that would make sense. Plus, it's my understanding that management is already well-aware that Vortex needs to go alongside Nighthawk, so I'm hoping they combine those plots into one larger ride as you suggested. Great video!
I would like to see something with an intense launch. I know it would be sorta redundant with Copperhead in 2019, but with the right coaster I don’t think people would mind.
Actually, Six Flags America got a custom piece for Batwing. So, now there is not much down time. It's my home park and every time I go there, Batwing has been open! If you didn't get the chance to ride it when you went, you should really go. It's a fun ride.
Hot take~ cedar fair loves investing in this park, which we have seen from additions of fury and copperhead. So, I came up with two massive ideas within 6-7 years. Since vortex and nighthawk are relatively close together, scrap them both and put in an awesome b and m dive coaster. You talked about that before but removing vortex would give more room. The second one is to turn hurler into an RMC hybrid. The ride is old, and rough, so give it the RMC treatment.
I am surprised you did not feature a Mack extreme spinning coaster or a new Vekoma flying coaster, which were the options I thought of immediately. To me, it really doesn't seem dumb to replace a flying coaster with a flying coaster because, if they demolish it, they don't have one anymore right. And since Vekoma is really showing what it's capable of now, that would be the ultimate redemption. Personally (if I owned the park) I would go for one of these or a new woodie (or maybe an infinity coaster), because to be honest B&M wing coaster are not my favorite, RMC single rails have bad capacity, dive coasters are all the same and I expect F.L.Y. to be more epic than existing B&M flyers.
As a season pass holder, I think Carowinds should make 3 major changes to the park in the next decade; 1. RMC Hurler 2. Replace Nighthawk with a B&M winged coaster 3. Replace Vortex with a Raptor
Coming back to this a year later. Railblazer is about to become available. I could see them putting that here with leaving part of the plot open for a future bigger coaster when Vortex needs to go.
My feeling about it is this. If you take out Nighthawk, I'll say to take out Vortex as well, as in move that to Valleyfair or Michigan's Adventure with floorless trains. That would be the two lame coasters out of the way and an even bigger plot of land to work with. In that sense, Cedar Fair can go for a coaster that high quality, with room to have theming but maybe even a step further compared to Copperhead Strike. If they went down the route with Nighthawk and Vortex? Then a B&M dive would be perfect and another people eater. With either scenario, a Gertslauer infinity coaster with the light package Hangtime has would truly be eye popping, especially if the water currently around Nighthawk is used to perfection. I think the S&S Axis comes to play a bit more if a couple other parks become the guinea pigs and becomes a hit there. I think with the woodie option, I just think there are a couple locations in the park better suited for that.
I think all these sound like good options. I feel like a B&M wing coaster or a GCI would be most likely, considering the recent success Cedar Fair has had with these models and the relationship that they have with both companies. I think a dive coaster could happen, but it’s probably less likely because Carowinds is generally a high-thrill park, and I feel like they’d probably want to do a 200+ foot drop to keep on par with the other dives in the chain. I’d also probably rule out a Gerstlauer Infinity/Dive because it might be too similar to Copperhead Strike.
I thought about this after my last visit there. After seeing Vekoma's new flyer model at Phantasialand, it would be cool to have a southern mine-themed F.L.Y in the park
I think removing both Vortex and Nighthawk at the same time gives them the most long term growth options. It allows them to RMC hurler while having a plot of land big enough for a decent sized GCI and enough room left over to squeeze in something like raptor or a free spin. It would take care of 3 less popular coasters and replace them with 3 new ones that would also be a little more budget conscious to build than one big B&M but still be high quality and exciting.
An OUTLAW RUN type RMC would be nice but definitely a "Dive Coaster " with some sort of unique element that would separate it from all other dive coasters
Kings Island and Invertigo. I know ride ops that have worked it for years and say there isn't much time left. Personally I like the idea of removing Invertigo and Congo Falls, then replacing it with a RMC Raptor. It would give a great addition to front of the park and fit perfectly.
Just went to Carowinds in June and I asked a ride employee why the ride was down. He said they were ordering a new control system and new harnesses for the seats. They're coming from china and won't make it until October due to shipping issues. Still it sounds to me like they'll be keeping it for at least the 2023 season.
Great analysis! It's now 2022, and Carowinds is losing money every day Nighthawk stays down and out of operation. Realistically, I think they go dive coaster, but would much rather see the single rail or wing!
A launched B&M Wing Coaster would be amazing. A modern Vekoma would also be interesting. That said, it seems to me like a GCI or an RMC would be more likely just because Carowinds could use a new wooden coaster to round out its lineup.
I actually liked this when I rode it back in August as it wasn't painful at all. Only downside though is that we were stuck at the end for at least 7 to 10 minutes in the blazing August sun. Don't get mad at me for liking Nighthawk, it's my opinion and you're welcome to disagree with me, but don't act toxic about it.
I keep Goldrusher, but I could see Nighthawk take Vortex with it and the space is used for a haunt maze for a season or 2 before the new coaster shows up. RMC can handle Hurler and maybe something on the lines of Krake or Baron 1898 could work in the middle. Sure Carowinds is a destination park and needs capacity, but they could add a mid course to Hurler so it’s different from Twisted Timbers
What I would prefer replacing nighthawk: 1. Large Gerstlauer infinity coaster (possible record breaking) 2. Launched B&M wing like Thunderbird 2023 is Carowinds 50th anniversary and I feel a wood coaster is coming next before Hurler gets the RMC
Sounds like 6 rail blazers. The Charlotte people will be happy
Yeah, 6 Raptors it is!
Except I would take 6 raptors over 6 Vekoma Flying coasters
JustinWasHere, Probably All Racing
Instead of 6 different raptors they should make a 6 lap mobious loop raptor with 6 different lift hills.

You essentially accomplish 3 things with this -
1) You get rid of Vortex, a very unpopular ride that draws virtually no guests to the park.
Take out Vortex and Knighthawk, and you could replace with two coasters: a Gerstlauer and a Raptor. Be cool to have them intertwined.
Hurler is still a fairly popular and imo a pretty good woodie. But everything else you said is absolutely true
I agree. That plot of land deserves a great coaster since it’s in the middle of the park.
Once upon a time that’s what Nighthawk was, this awesome coaster in the middle of the park. It’s wild looking back knowing what it is now
I actually quite enjoyed hurler.
Flight Deck and Time Warp will go together
Keep Gemini. If CP is going to remove a coaster, wouldn't it be Iron Dragon?
@@FameyFamous Nah. Cedar Creek Mine Ride.
American Eagle would be a great topic for discussion.
I love the eagle SFGA is my home park so I hope it’s gets a RMC makeover
Gamer Kid Andrew they legally can’t edit the structure.
puppetuppers they could but they would need permission from the city of Gurnee
Luke Waslo Which is highly unlikely as American Eagle is adjacent to a residential area.
Mike Fangman American eagle is on the side of the park that is bordered by highways and doesn’t sit next to any homes
To everyone saying 'didn't know it was being removed' or 'it's still around haha': he never said that it's being removed right now. Carowinds has not made such an announcement, he's just saying it's very likely given all the maintenance issues these Vekoma Flying Dutchmen have. Calm down everyone
It’s coming though all these arrow coaster are getting axed hopefully lockness monster at Busch gardens stays
Imagine if they created a 16 inversion infinity coaster
GP: GP.exe is not responding
Enthusiasts: should’ve gotten a gci
The problem with attacking Smiler's record is Smiler itself. You advertise this as the world record and people will google what held it before. This of course leads to Smiler's 2016 incident. While I do think Cedar Fair will attack this record sooner than later, I cant see them doing it at a park like Carowinds. Carowinds seems to me as their nest egg park. They want to build it up to be a Southern Cedar Point but it currently does not have the same level of reverence.
@@Mightbeloony it was a 2015 accident
Random coaster enthusiast:. Should have gotten a Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd instead.
If it were to leave, I hope it’s replacement would be good.I hope it’s legacy stays.
u still have batwing about a 3 hour drive away...
I think they'll do a floorless to vortex and rmc hurler before anything else big comes.
Knighthawk is a terrible coaster. Just my opinion, but my equilibrium is messed up all day after riding it.
I would love a modern woodie or a RMC hurler
Jason Liang not a 15 minute though :(
I’d love to see a Gerstlauer similar to Takabisha
I would actually like something like junker and Pitts special combined
InfiniteGaming Studios that could work
They just got copperhead strike, so I don’t think that would happen for a while
You really opened my eyes and got me thinking on this one. Here is what I would do (8-10 year plan):
- RMC Hurler
- Remove Vortex, Nighthawk, and Carolina Gold Rusher
-Add a GCI Wooden Twister Coaster (similar to a Gold Striker/Thunderhead)
- Add another coaster- I would go with either the RMC Raptor, slightly larger model than RailBlazer or go with the new Intamin model
This would mean the line-up at Carowinds would be (It gives them a real solid Top 7):
Fury 325
Intimidator
Copperhead Strike
Afterburn
RMC Hurler
RMC Raptor
GCI Twisting Wood Coaster
Flying Cobras
Carolina Cyclone
Woodstock Express
Kiddy Hawk
Riccochet
Wilderness run
What’s Wilderness Express?
The time and effort to record and get the google maps images must have been a pain in the ass. Seriously makes the video 100000000% better though, giving actual visual perspectives instead of, "Well, maybe" type stuff. When it comes to coaster content you are #1 by a mile. Keep it up Chris!
How about Anaconda at Kings Dominion? That coaster is certainly on its way out, is pretty close to the old Volcano plot, and creates an interesting dynamic with the lake it sits on. There are certainly a lot of possibilities there!
A Vekoma style coaster like the lech coaster in Poland would go perfect on that plot of land with the water.
Not going yet but i think itll be soon
Definitely not a b&m
B&M girl: HEY!
I really hope they go with a gravity group. Gravity groups always deliver exciting layouts in a much more compact space
You could do a hoosier hurricane, and make it one of the most photogenic rides in the park while you're at it.
My thoughts on your options:
- I’m not a big fan of the woodies because I feel like they’re not as aesthetically pleasing as steel, especially the other options you proposed.
Oh and I forgot to mention, for future reference, RMC doesn’t make topper tracks anymore.
Would like to see a Raptor replace Vortex if the dimensions were feasible.
Im pretty sure B&M could build a Wing or Dive coaster that travels overtop Vortex and the mine coaster with demolishing either, but my money is on GCI
Please do more of these types of videos! It was really well thought out and presented well. I'm so glad I found you through Theme Park Crazy!
Carowinds is my home park and I would like to see a good wooden coaster. Hurler just sucks. Boring layout and just rough as hell. I would gladly give up Vortex too to get a GCI , CCI, or a ground up RMC . To be honest, anything in your video would be better than Nighthawk.
It’s my home park as well, I’m not huge on the idea of a wooden coaster but boy would it be awesome if we walked through the Fury into a winged coaster
i was thinking about getting rid of vortex too cause thats not very popular. altho i do like a good stand up coaster
No fun. lol
@@jesselatham7610 A wing coaster would be cool. Beats Nighthawk.
They've also got a decent plot of land that they've been using for Dinosaurs Alive. That desperately needs something more substantial to fill the plot.
How about a new suspended coaster called Cannonball
Theme: pirates
Aspects: lots of airtime hills 2 helixes a close call curved drop into a tunnel themed like a cannon than mid course break run than waves to station
Layout: out and back
Colours brown rails and black support to rails seating 2 per row 4 per cart 5 carts ten rows
Thoughts on the replies
The effort, the research, the quality, dude every single one of your videos are amazing!
THIS RIGHT HERE
Hey, you said 2 other Vekoma flying coasters were made, but it was 2 flying Dutchmans that were made. If you include F.LY. Though, there were 5 Vekoma Flyers made, just not all were the same model.
"The new ride will stand front and center"
Fury: I give the world the number 1 coaster, and four years later they forget I even exist
5:49 Geez! Monster feels WAY bigger in length in person looking at it!
A dueling flying coaster using the nighthawk and fire hawk themes
Maybe even theme it to every coaster ending in “Hawk”. Nighthawk, Firehawk, Thunderhawk, Tony Hawk, you get the idea.
Laydown Coaster 1 has broken down.
"Laydown Coaster 1" looks too intense to me!
I've been waiting in line for "Laydown Coaster 1" for ages!
Just looking at Laydown Coaster 1 makes me feel sick!
I like your idea of getting rid of all three coasters and having a huge piece of land and putting in either a GCI or RMC. But like you say back to reality.
Goat of coaster channels. Eltororyan in 2nd. We support everything you do. Amazing content
Interesting that management is considering both of those rides being removed for something bigger...
@@AirtimeThrills that’s at least what I’ve heard through the rumor mill. Grain of salt, and all that. Thanks again for all of the great content!
This is my home park, and I remember first riding it and despite the roughness I really enjoyed it. I would actually be sad to see it go.
A Lil Phantom clone of course! (I'm joking btw)
lol
Can we all appreciate the quality of Chris's videos, they are the best.
Badger State Coasters that thing is already cloned at Lake Compounce
@@coasterhockygamingboy9549 Exactly, we need more of them
I think that a MACK PowerSplash would fit perfectly on that plot of land, since it goes over the water. Or Intamin’s new PowerSplash knockoff.
You could do Scorpion at BGT, Gemini at Cedar Point, or Viper at SFMM.
Or Volcano
Or Time Warp's and Flight Deck's plots combined.
I'd rather have nighthawk over a wing coaster
If they axe all three coasters, they could go for a dueling/racing wooden coaster to homage Thunder Road.
Bro I love this guy, best roller coaster youtuber, change my mind
Sometime tells me that it'll be here for a while due to recent events
As a season pass holder, I think Carowinds should make 3 major changes to the park in the next decade;
1. RMC Hurler
2. Replace Nighthawk with a B&M winged coaster
3. Replace Vortex with a Raptor
It’s unfortunate that only one more Flying Dutchmen is still gonna be up. Great job on the video. Keep Up The Great Work Chris and Stay Safe
Coming back to this a year later. Railblazer is about to become available. I could see them putting that here with leaving part of the plot open for a future bigger coaster when Vortex needs to go.
Corkscrew/Magnum XL replacements at cedar point ideas? I’d say Gemini but I think it’ll probably get RMC’d at some point
They won’t let magnum go
I think a video for Gemini would be good
@@AirtimeThrills Hi Chris,I have watched almost everyone of your videos. Please keep making great content for me to watch all day!
I could see Cedar Fair removing Vortex and moving it to a different park as a floorless. I would say Valleyfair or Michigan's Adventure.
Michigan’s Adventure got their new garbage can last year. They’re good until 2026.
Great vid! I would love to see an Anaconda replacement video in the future!
Just here wishing they’d replace vortex instead, honestly I really enjoy Nighthawk
Chris, for the wing coasters, did you do the math for Toverland's Fenix? It's on a small piece of land too.
The coaster that I would like to see the replacements for if the series continues are time warp and flight deck at Canada’s Wonderland
This is so well thought out! That is a beautiful location. I’m sure they’ll nail it when that day comes!
CGA still has the o.g.
footers and loading station?
Maybe it should be sent back or finally take "wicked twister" from Cedar point ?
Idk will see...
You’ve got the best content in the coaster community, hat off to you
I actually liked this when I rode it back in August as it wasn't painful at all.
It’s getting replaced 🥺I have a season pass to carowinds and love the ride but it’s broken more often then not
What I would prefer replacing nighthawk:
1. Large Gerstlauer infinity coaster (possible record breaking)
2. Launched B&M wing like Thunderbird
2023 is Carowinds 50th anniversary and I feel a wood coaster is coming next before Hurler gets the RMC
Nice dive or wing would be great to add to the lineup here, also a nice hybrid woodie.
