I’m on the side that I prefer pedal distortion over amp distortion.
Love the mt2w and hm2w. Boosted with ts9 or sd1.
Recently got the boss katana artist head and was blown away by the distortion sound. Way more open and tube like feel with more lows and presence.
Still like the pedal tones for more old school thrash and death metal sounds

I love effect pedals!
And I love to experiment with effect pedals to create some unique sounds. I really like the down tuned guitar sounds of a 7 string or baritone and I have some bass effect pedals that I use for these sounds. Maybe you can show some of these pedals as well. I use the GT73 from Ananashead Effects and I love it with fuzz or / and distortion. Have you tryed the MXR Sub Octave Bass Fuzz for baritone?
