    1) 9:26 self check-out system already available in Malaysia at certain big malls like Tesco and Ikea, but it still early and new to many malaysians.
    2) one important thing that many Malaysians take for granted is our healthcare system. People can say all nasty things about the government hospital; slow services, inefficient etc..but one thing for sure with only RM5 in Malaysia hospital, Rachel can have her leg to be examined by a specialist doctor, plus x-ray/scan and medication. Yeah, she might have to 'wait for few hours' but at least her leg is well taken cared of. So fellow malaysians, be grateful.

    Mr. Kumar, forgive me if this opinion would disturb your feelings. My far-distance cousin in Seattle used to told me once about medical issues in The US. He claimed that The US is actually has the worst healthcare coverage policy, when he said that only fewer lucky person will be able to received free healthcare treatment if you're tending to be American. While the vast society of American who doesn't own insurance coverage will get suffer the most. Considering the normal price for minor healthcare services or minor operation in The US is actually quite hefty and therefore who didn't have sufficient life savings won't be able to either receive proper healthcare service in any private hospital or even several public hospital. Less penny means less probability for a patient to get submitted in the hospital.

      It was Obamacare that people were complaining about. The Gov owned healthcare plan became unaffordable as years go. The Premium kept going up and up. People couldn't keep up with it. "You can keep your Doctor" if you buy into Obamacare. Jimmy Kimmel of course loved Obamacare. He had no problem with the premium and he was able to use it for his baby born with a heart problem. He's rich..he could afford the premium.
      Trump wanted to open up your choices to pick your own Insurance company with competitive prices. That way, it also provides business to other insurance companies. And you could buy yourself insurance coverage that suits your needs and that you can afford. Not determined by the Gov.
      Trump also signed executive order to allow you to pick the school of your choice for your kids under "Freedom of Choice" You can now send your kid to a Private school of your choice. You are not forced to keep your kid in Public schools that aren't doing good for your kids.
      Trump also signed an executive order allowing freedom of religion. No teacher or school administrator can forbid you from praying in your own way bcos it offends the others. He said if that happens, he would de-fund the school.
      So now that Biden is in the WH, he wants to undo everything that Trump did and back to how it was.
      Did you know that Trump had cut Corporate, Business and Individual taxes. He promised that if he got re-elected, he would cut further. Biden had promised to raise taxes.
      But i don't blame you for not knowing all these bcos you were only getting your news from Trump hating Corporate Media who told you lies about Trump and told you that Trump's a liar. Why do you think 75 million people love Trump so much?

    • @anakpontian3944
      @anakpontian3944 3 года назад +2

      @fortheloveofthemachines
      Obamacare is actually had a contra too as more Americans are being forced to get the insurance or they'd would be penalized if they choose not to obtain Obamacare.
      The financial planning purpose of insurance is to pool protection against a large unlikely loss. If the loss has already occurred, you can’t pool protection, you just have to accept the loss and pay for it.
      Home insurance pools protection against the unlikely event of a fire. But once your house has burned down it is too late to buy insurance. Imagine if we passed a law that said that insurance companies can no longer deny anyone coverage when their house has already burned to the ground.
      Obamacare requires all Americans to have health insurance and imposes a $900 fine for not having it. And all health insurance companies must insure people for the same price regardless of any preexisting conditions.
      In the past, people would pay thousands of dollars for health insurance so it would be there if they needed it. Now they are able to pay a small fine or receive a health insurance exemption and still be guaranteed insurance even after they develop a serious illness. As a result, healthy people with insurance will do better to drop their coverage and pay the fine until they get sick and need health care.
      Rather than increasing the roles of the insured, this legislation has actually encouraged many healthy people to opt out of insurance. If insurance can’t discriminate based on my health, why pay a dime until my out-of-pocket expenses are expected to exceed the cost of insurance?
      No insurance system can survive such folly. Savvy consumers should only buy insurance if they anticipate that their expenses will exceed what they pay in premiums. Insurance companies will have no way to screen for a truly average risk pool. As a result, costs will go up until even the sick won’t want to buy insurance.
      The Obamacare's requirement that insurance can’t discriminate based on preexisting conditions makes it easier for people to wait until they have a serious condition to get health insurance or switch to a better provider.
      Again, the so-called benefit could be stated as our totalitarian government that makes it impossible for you to purchase anything other than unlimited health insurance coverage even if you want to purchase a lower cost plan and insurance companies are willing to sell such policies. Limiting lifetime and annual coverage limits provide a method for insurance companies to limit their risk of a single case bankrupting the company. This lowers the cost of insurance, a feature to some buyers.

I have a twin brother who is pretty young, has had problem kidney. My family didn't realize he was so sick. They thought he had usual sick, that was not big deal. And the other thing that we didn't have insurance. We're scared of paying too much billing, we're afraid of going to hospital at that time. But day by day he was so sick. His body was terrible, it was bigger than normal, and his weight was too heavy. He couldn't step with his foot, and he felt like hard to breathe. Then my dad was so much worry about him. My dad can't speak English, he wanted to take my brother to hospital, but he didn't know how to drive a car. Then at that midnight, my dad called my uncle, he took my brother and my family to hospital. And I felt so much bad at that time. I yelled at the gate of ER to try help my brother. Many nurses came out to help. The nurses said he was so sick. At that day, I didn't sleep at all. I felt so bad!!. Then my brother's doctor said, his kidneys is "End Stage Renal Disease". I am really shocked about that!!!. I wish I could take my brother went to hospital earlier!!. I hate the time that I criticized my brother being lazy, don't exercise, etc.... I wish the time could go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    GUYS! Don't have healthcare insurance, it would be too much dangerous!!!!

    In Jon Jandai's TEDx talk, one of his civilization criteria is "medical" on top of food and shelter. I always heard about expensive medical fees US but never thought to be death or alive expensive. You are not the first to share such medical issue in US. Know this recently, it was a blessing in disguise that my application to transfer to US was not approved. Knowing this when I was there will be a serous shock.

    Oh no! Will pray for Rachel's quick recovery.
    But just so you know, Tesco Malaysia actually has self checkout now; and oh IKEA too.
    That being said. Seniors above 65 in Malaysia often may get free medical healthcare for minor stuffs, if you are a foreigner, it's is probably between RM1 - RM5 (according to my senior foreign friends); and my dad just had his prostate cancer removed for 26 days hospitalisation with the bill... RM250. That was super surprised for me.
    But that is government hospitals and you will pretty much need to wait in line a lot of times. But for my parents who are no longer eligible for medical insurance for their age. This is definitely the best choice to stay in Malaysia.

Kalau betul2 tak dapat tunggu, u cuma ada option pergi ER (mahal) atau pergi Urgent Care yg belum tentu ada pakar. Mkn ubt tahan sakit saja until u dpt jmpa pakar. Apa2 pun, please take care n hope Rachel gets better sooner.

Ape yg sy buat tanpa pergi hospital ialah rendam kaki dgn air ais seminggu 2-3 times per day for 3 days first and get a massage from experts then learn to take a step slowly so darah turun ke kaki also kaki tak rasa sengal2 or cramps around knee and hip ... Also Don't forget to buy muscle spray , yoko2 or plaster berubat its can help too ...

    Actually, I just talked about this with some of my American friends. We talked about a dengue fever case and how it could easily cost them thousands of dollars if the patients need to stay at the hospital for a night. Meanwhile, my brother had dengue fever before, he stayed at the hospital for over a week and we only had to pay RM1 to register his name.
    I knew USA don't have free healthcare but before, I was under the impression they were talking only about $100 AT MOST in the same scenario but I was so shocked to know that it was actually much, much more expensive than that. It made me feel ashamed complaining about the little thing about Malaysia. We may not be best at a lot of stuff, but regarding health, we never took it as a joke.

    I was only in America for half a year, and my husband did have healthcare because he worked at the hospital, but we were still always at the medicine aisle at Winn Dixie/Walmart/Target. I have a bad back and get headaches from lack of sleep so we always had icy hot, ibuprofen, aleve & benadryl in the cabinet. We were always "self diagnosing" and "self medicating" that at times, I just tough it out and hope the pain passes.
    We're now back in Singapore and I'm thankful that healthcare here is heavily subsidised.

    I really enjoyed watching this video. I must admit that I enjoy the honesty in your videos and - this video in particular highligted a dilema. Most Malaysians esp the Non-malays think that the USA is the best country ie a land of milk and honey, but they are not aware of the fact that medical care in the USA is very expensive. Unless you are super rich or have a good insurance policy, its very very costly. I recently have gone to a govt hosp in malaysia and i received very good and fast treatment. Malaysia's healthcare is good - even foreigners make it a point to come to some of our hospitals for treatment. I personally think that Malaysia is a good place to live in. Do not get me wrong, but i believe that a person happy living anywhere so long as they are happy with themselves inside. The USA is also a good place to live in and i do hope the Biden administration does something about the healthcare situation. I am looking forward to meeting you both in future. Take care and thanks for sharing.
    PS: i am a non malay and i am happy living here in malaysia.
