    People didn’t really like AC3 but I absolutely adored it. The movement, combat, the animals and being able to climb trees for the first time blew me away. I freaking love Connor but following Ezio was not gonna be easy.

      I think people really didn’t like Connor because he had a different personality to Ezio, but that’s what makes him interesting!
      It would be super boring if all the assassin’s were as outgoing as Ezio, Connor is both naive and intelligent at the same time, which makes the dialogue between him and Haytham a real pleasure to watch!

      People didn't like AC3 because of Connor. For some people Connor is mindless, savage brute that didn't stand a chance against educated, charming and nice Italian guy. Personally I don't agree with this opinion. Sure Connor is not as much educated as Ezio but he is definitely not mindless brute. Initially he was pretty harsh with his "WHERE IS CHARLES LEE?!" and too ideological but he got some character development in game and later he is wise assassin as well. I like Ezio but I like Connor as well and AC 3 was improvement over previous games. It's one of my favorite game in series to this day.

    This is an amazing detail! Must pile it ontop of the other great immersive details in ac3. I mean, they went through the trouble to animate the fact that Haytham is left handed and Conner right handed. Conner fights like a predator with his back hunched and dual wielding while Haytham fights like a gentleman; straight postured and one arm behind his back. He was possibly taught how to fence by an officer (note that I am acknowledging how people say it was Edward who taught him. This is false as it clearly states that he was raised by templars and not his father. Just as a theory, I believe as pirates make bad fathers, he probably just neglected Haytham as a boy.) or something. Anyways, the details in this game are quite amazing. Though they don't effect the gameplay much and are often overlooked, it is still awesome how much work they put into this game. Its "bad apple of the bunch" thesis in reference to the series, is undeserved.
    TLDR: They put a lot of detail in this game, so people should probably appreciate it more than they do.

    • @Wheatcake
      @Wheatcake Год назад +9

      @Lordology i thought people didn't like ac3 because of historical inaccuracy. Some dates didn't match, some people were shown as good guys when in reality they were actually bad ones and ubsoft cut out a lot of storytelling content so people would buy their books and comics to understand the story. But after looking at modern ac i just smirk. Back in the days i would never think that this franchies can sink but seeing how many copies of Odyssey they sold, i lost all hopes in humanity.

    This is a nice little bit of connection, but what I really like about this scene is what it means for Connor. In order for this scene to happen, they had to know Hatham was his father. Connor told his recruits who his father was, a Templar, the man they had all sworn to help kill if necessary, and it was. Connor isn't my favorite, my fave is Shay, but he is a good protagonist for these kinds of interactions. He is upfront and honest and does not bulls*** you. He is open with his recruits about what needs to be done, and he will not ask them to do anything he wouldn't do himself.

I didn't want him to be exactly like Altair or Ezio, I just wanted him to feel like a real character when he felt more like a setpiece to me. His legacy and deeds: badass. • @lordology4815
      @lordology4815  5 месяцев назад +1

      Forsaken and the Secret Crusade are definitely my favourite novels from the Assassin’s Creed books, the events between sequence 3-4 of the game is a super interesting part of the book where Haytham finds his sister, finds out Edward was an assassin AND kills the Grandmaster who had raised him to be a Templar and had Jenny enslaved, if they had focused on that in the game it would’ve been wild when Black Flag was released as more people would appreciate both Haytham and Edward as strong characters in the Assassin’s Creed mythos.
      Personally I think Ubisoft branching out into comic books and other forms of media have really hurt the story of Assassin’s Creed, since the entire Juno storyline was tied up in a comic book which is an absolute joke and insult to the old school creed fans.

    Wow I see this for the first time after almost 11 years of the game being out! I like these little details scattered throughout the story but very well connected. Interesting how there's always something new to discover even when we thought we had the full picture.

      Very true man, Assassin's Creed has always had some interesting lore and some cool easter eggs in their games, I just wish we didn't have to check out so many other forms of media to understand everything that's going on, as its now quite a lot to keep up with!

      The game backstory and what the Forsaken author decided to do don’t match up, basically. Which is a shame, because the implied backstory in the game seems much better thematically.
