    I got in IT with the CCNA without prior IT training or experience in June 2020. I found that most of the entry level networking jobs are with the enterprise fiber internet service providers like Spectrum, Comcast, Optimum etc. these roles will put your CCNA to use as well as Network+.

    You don't need to get a CCNA to get a desktop role. You can start applying to that right away. I started a Layer network 1 job almost right away after getting my A+. I'm getting my CCNA while I do advanced support for the same company I got that layer 1 job at. That, hopefully, would boost me to network admin in the future.

      I had A+ and Net+ when I got my Desktop role. Got Sec+ shortly after then became the Desktop Lead about 9 months later. Now I work in a Network/ Systems Admin role studying for my CCNA.

    Thank you for all that you do. You are definitely throwing out some gems. Recently passed my SEC+ exam. Taking my CCNA in November. What is your linkedin so I can follow you

      Congrats, please let me know if you get a lot of hits from your security+ certification. Also, how long did it take for you to pass your sec+ certification?

    I think CCNA is a little much for a first IT job role. I had A+ and Net+ when I got my Desktop role. Got Sec+ shortly after then became the Desktop Lead about 9 months later. A year later after being the Lead, I now work in a Network/ Systems Admin role studying for my CCNA.

    Order for someone new should be A+, Network+, Sec+, Linux+. CCNA is hard and very close to being obsolete with the rise of Public Cloud. But great to learn the content

      No. Cloud is decreasing and more companies are going back to on prem. CCNA does need another major change.

      @@tchrisbass5650 No to which part? I hope you don't think cloud is decreasing.

      @@brandons2842 "Cloud" from a company purchasing cloud space is decreasing and has been for some time. Once they found out the cloud space was more expensive than on prem. Also the security factor. You will only see big companies put a small set of critical apps in the cloud.

    I got my ccna in August and though I wanna get right into applying I’m taking the time to get better prepared because as we all know Ccna is a lot to take in so, I’m giving myself until February of next year and after that I’m going full speed. Plus my daughter will be born in two months and I wanna spend that time with her.

      Congratulations bro I got my CCNA a week and a half ago. I’d say do something like a data center technician where it’s not required to do advanced things like doing configurations or anything like that mainly installing fibers and replacing things on servers etc

    Is ccnp still relevant aswell just like the ccna? Im reading alot of negativity about networking "jobs fading away" . Im new just wondering what is true. Networking is a career i would like to get into . Thank you for your content!

    • @debtfreeinitwmike
      @debtfreeinitwmike  24 дня назад +4

      Yes it’s still relevant the way we think of traditional networking is changing to involve more programming etc but most of
      The certs reflect this change

      What a stupid question. Why spend 80k on college debt to work at a coffee shop? If you don't know wtf you're doing stay home and leave the advanced thinking to people who try.

      Listen man it’s a good cert to have in your belt sometimes you might have to take a lower paying job at first but once you have your foot in the door and you gain that experience your all set. You can have all the degrees in the world but experience can beat someone who has the knowledge but doesn’t know how to apply it because of lack of experience.
