This quote from Elder Packer helps me understand why scriptures can be challenging. Bro. Rush, you are a gift to those of us who are sincerely seeking to understand these complex books.
Boyd K. Packer (1924-2015) Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
For His own reasons, the Lord provides answers to some questions, with pieces placed here and there throughout the scriptures. We are to find them; we are to earn them. In that way sacred things are hidden from the insincere. ("The Mystery of Life," Ensign, Nov. 1983, p. 17; italics added)

Love your books and commentary!! They have made me dig into my scripture study, and now it is such a delight. Also attending the temple weekly. Can't get enough of it!!
Here's another scripture in Ether that absolutely corroborates your claim that the Lost Ten Tribes were taken off the earth: Ether 13:11, halfway down the verse says, "...they who were scattered and gathered in from the four quarters of the earth, and from the north countries, and are partakers of the fulfilling of the covenant which God made with their father, Abraham."
The people scattered and gathered from the four quarters of the earth AND from the north countries; i.e. 2 different locations. You just can't get any clearer than that. Ether had so much to say about the End Times, and Moroni specifically tells us he was going to include more but was forbidden. Food for thought!

    V. 9 waste places of Jerusalem can also refer to men on earth having made the messages that came from the Jews via the Bible a waste for so many centuries because so few believed what was being said... They see eye to eye, because they all three had the truth, that few believed our understood... sons of men have mostly rejected the truths in the holy books, including our own... But he's saying: Be ye clean the vessels of the Lord, like, keep living the covenant life even though most other people don't... Because someday, maybe soon, no one will be confused/fight you about it because everyone will understand the great mystery of this earth, which is the identity of God, and therefore ourselves... Who we really are... The veil will be lifted and everything will make sense! We will not be ashamed forever for living by faith... we shouldn't fear the opinions of our enemies because "that which they have not seen shall be shown them!" You are right Michael, when you try to explain what the spirit is showing you, words make it hard to communicate! It doesn't do justice to what we can see with spiritual eyes... As I make this comment I am getting a taste of what you go through when you try to expound these things! The everlasting hills ARE the vicinities right outside the boundaries of our galaxy which there have been guardians placed on to keep us from knowing about them on purpose to grow our faith.. and this is scriptural! It's the fence around the "vineyard" of the olive trees! The scriptures have absolutely come alive to me in these past two to three years... You have been one of my best mentors, and I will always be so grateful! I don't know many people who want to talk about what we are talking about here and it feels good to be able to hear and comment about it... 😊💚 I thank you for having the guts to try to teach people all of this... I'm glad that you ended the video with verses about the lord's great great love for His people... His kindness and peace will definitely not depart from us, I feel them every morning when I study for almost three years now, and I have confidence that He doesn't break His promises. We are in for a wonderful, wild ride!!!!❤️🌈🪨

There was someone who made a comment knocking the idea of daily repentance. I don't see his comment any more, but I composed a comment to him that I'd like to post here for anyone who may need to hear it:
It depends on several things, including definitions, intentions, context, and so on. The Prophet's teaching is, naturally, correct; you can't flippantly "repent," willfully do the same sin, then think you can simply repent, sin, repeat over and over. But that's not really what most of us who talk about "daily repentance" are saying. The principle of repenting whenever we need to, and whenever we do a wrong, is found in the scriptures and in the teachings of prophets. That is obvious. If we need to repent daily - and which one of us doesn't? - should we refrain? Of course not! But if we are doing the same exact sin constantly, flippantly, thinking we can simply repent and it will be fine, that's different. However, if our repentance is sincere, that is, if we are sincerely trying and not acting hypocritically or deceitfully, then repentance is a blessing - yes, even for those same sins which we struggle with most.
King Benjamin talked about those who had already "received a remission of their sins" and said that they may repent and "always" receive a remission, implying the need for continuous and ongoing repentance:
"And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel.
"And behold, I say unto you that if ye do this ye shall always rejoice, and be filled with the love of God, and always retain a remission of your sins; and ye shall grow in the knowledge of the glory of him that created you, or in the knowledge of that which is just and true" (Mosiah 4:11-12).
President Nelson, of course, has strongly and repeatedly urged daily repentance:
"Nothing is more liberating, more ennobling, or more crucial to our individual progression than is a regular, daily focus on repentance. Repentance is not an event; it is a process. It is the key to happiness and peace of mind. When coupled with faith, repentance opens our access to the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
"Whether you are diligently moving along the covenant path, have slipped or stepped from the covenant path, or can’t even see the path from where you are now, I plead with you to repent. Experience the strengthening power of daily repentance-of doing and being a little better each day. . . .
"Repentance is the key to avoiding misery inflicted by traps of the adversary. The Lord does not expect perfection from us at this point in our eternal progression. But He does expect us to become increasingly pure. Daily repentance is the pathway to purity, and purity brings power. Personal purity can make us powerful tools in the hands of God. Our repentance-our purity-will empower us to help in the gathering of Israel." - President Nelson, We Can Do Better and Be Better, General Conference, April, 2019.
Elder Brad Wilcox illustrated what I said earlier about our intention in the repentance process and how failing at the same thing and needing to repent about it multiple times doesn't make us evil or hypocritical:
"Life is like a cross-country road trip. We can’t reach our destination on one tank of gas. We must refill the tank over and over. Taking the sacrament is like pulling into the gas station. As we repent and renew our covenants, we pledge our willingness to keep the commandments, and God and Christ bless us with the Holy Spirit. In short, we promise to press forward on our journey, and God and Christ promise to refill the tank.
"Some mistakenly receive the message that they are not worthy to participate fully in the gospel because they are not completely free of bad habits. God’s message is that worthiness is not flawlessness. Worthiness is being honest and trying. We must be honest with God, priesthood leaders, and others who love us, and we must strive to keep God’s commandments and never give up just because we slip up. Elder Bruce C. Hafen said that developing a Christlike character “requires patience and persistence more than it requires flawlessness.” The Lord has said the gifts of the Spirit are “given for the benefit of those who love me and keep all my commandments, and him that seeketh so to do.”
"One young man I’ll call Damon wrote: “Growing up, I struggled with pornography. I always felt so ashamed that I could not get things right.” Each time Damon slipped, the pain of regret became so intense, he harshly judged himself to be unworthy of any kind of grace, forgiveness, or additional chances from God. He said: “I decided I just deserved to feel terrible all the time. I figured God probably hated me because I wasn’t willing to work harder and get on top of this once and for all. I would go a week and sometimes even a month, but then I would relapse and think, ‘I’ll never be good enough, so what’s the use of even trying?’”
"At one such low moment, Damon said to his priesthood leader: “Maybe I should just stop coming to church. I’m sick of being a hypocrite.”
"His leader responded: “You’re not a hypocrite because you have a bad habit you are trying to break. You are a hypocrite if you hide it, lie about it, or try to convince yourself the Church has the problem for maintaining such high standards. Being honest about your actions and taking steps to move forward is not being a hypocrite. It is being a disciple.” This leader quoted Elder Richard G. Scott, who taught: “The Lord sees weaknesses differently than He does rebellion. … When the Lord speaks of weaknesses, it is always with mercy.”
"That perspective gave Damon hope. He realized God was not up there saying, “Damon blew it again.” Instead, He was probably saying, “Look how far Damon has come.” This young man finally stopped looking down in shame or looking sideways for excuses and rationalizations. He looked up for divine help, and he found it." - Elder Wilcox, "Worthiness is Not Flawlessness," General Conference, October, 2021
One more testimony that I like from an area Seventy:
"I’m thankful for the gift of repentance provided through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. It’s a gift that allows us to return to His presence if we use it. As we choose the right by following the Savior Jesus Christ and striving to become like Him we will find peace, happiness and joy. However, we are not perfect like Him and we will and do make mistakes. So, fortunately, we have the gift of repentance to make necessary changes. As we correct our ways, we may make the same mistake again or have new mistakes. So, we need to continue to repent, daily. It’s continued repentance that provides us with continued progression to being aligned with the will of God and to be one with God, our Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ" (Elder Voi R. Taeoalii, "The Gift of Repentance," BYU-Hawaii, September 17, 2019).
    Now a couple more scriptures:
"Therefore I say unto you, Go; and whosoever transgresseth against me, him shall ye judge according to the sins which he has committed; and if he confess his sins before thee and me, and repenteth in the sincerity of his heart, him shall ye forgive, and I will forgive him also.
"Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me" (Mosiah 26:30-31).
"And they were strict to observe that there should be no iniquity among them; and whoso was found to commit iniquity, and three witnesses of the church did condemn them before the elders, and if they repented not, and confessed not, their names were blotted out, and they were not numbered among the people of Christ.
"But as oft as they repented and sought forgiveness, with real intent, they were forgiven" (Moroni 6:7-8).
"Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
"Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven" (Matthew 18:21-22).
To close, let me say something. I don't know you, so I don't say this as fact, but as a supposition which may be totally wrong in your case. I assume you're likely a faithful and upright person. However, for anyone who needs to hear it, if you think you personally don't need to repent daily, perhaps you should be repenting daily. God bless.

I have learned much from Bro Rush and greatly appreciate the insights he shares, but I hope that everyone remembers to take what he expounds and study and pray for yourself to know what is correct and if there’s anything that is not. There are other scholars (particularly Avraham Gileadi, a well versed scholar of Isaiah) whose teachings are quite different from Michael Rush’s interpretations. It would be irresponsible of us to take every thing Bro Rush says as absolute truth. We must diligently study, prayerfully discern and patiently wait upon the Lord for exact truth to be confirmed in our hearts and minds.

Can the Jacob and Israel part be talking about the Remnant of Jacob (Book of Mormon inhabitants) and House of Israel (Old World)? Gentiles (modern-day LDS) being adopted into the HOI through conversion (baptism of fire or that wrestle w/God that was mentioned) so the Gentile fits into the main body HOI as the modern HOI (though they are only the keepers of the Gospel for a time).

Wanted to ask about the 7 women to 1 man to take away a woman's reproach - you mentioned a war could be the cause of not a lot of men being alive at this time, but i wanted to ask if it could be more men maybe sterile due to the vaccine mandates? This information is now coming out about our immune system being compromised and attacking sperm as an inflection. In the scriptures doesn't a woman's reproach means she can't have children? so maybe 1 in 7 men can't have children and the women cling to men that have proven they can have children?

If God works in patterns why won’t he warn us of these things through his prophet? Jeremiah and Isaiah warned at the scatterings why wouldn’t we be warned in the same way now? I’m a huge fan of Michael Rush’s work, someone asked me this question when trying to discuss the events of the last days and I didn’t have a good response. It’s a great question!

    • @officialmichaelbrush
      @officialmichaelbrush  2 года назад +5

It is interesting that your friend thinks that they are not being warned. The prophet has asked us to study the covenants of Israel and to look for their fulfillment in our lives. He said we would be amazed if we did. He told us in the coming days the Lord will do the His most incredible miracles ever. He said that we need to learn to access Christ's power. He said that only those that have learned how to pay the price for priesthood power will be able to perform the miracles necessary to save their families in the coming days. He said that unless we have the constant guiding influence of the Holy Ghost we will not survive the coming days. He also said that those who have left the church need to repent and get back on the covenant path quickly because there is not much time left. I hear all of those things as warnings, what does your friend hear them as?

    • @cadenallred967

Thanks for the response. I suppose he is expecting something more specific. “The antichrist is coming” “war will be waged and America destroyed and put under rule” “the economy will collapse” My mom and I often try to have these conversations but my siblings dislike talk about the second coming it doesn’t seem to interest them. I don’t think it has ever been more pertinent! Obviously as you have shared there are examples all over scripture of this happening but like you said in the video, many people will blame the brethren for not telling them about what’s in the scriptures

I love Brother Rush's videos and all the good info he presents. However, I have to take exception to his view that the "marred servant" is Israel. Not only does that scripture indicate it is "he", one man, but there are many references to the last days servant named David. This is what Joseph Smith said about that, and I truly believe that last days servant "David" will be the "marred servant"
Joseph Smith stated that in the last days the throne of David would be given to another man of his lineage. He implied that unlike the ancient King David, this last days descendant of David would have the spirit and power of Elijah and the fulness of the priesthood.
Although David was a king, he never did obtain the spirit and power of Elijah and the fullness of the Priesthood; and the Priesthood that he received, and the throne and kingdom of David is to be taken from him and given to another by the name of David in the last days, raised up out of his lineage. (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 339)

I agree completely. The Servant is a single man who will be the forerunner of the Lord Jesus Christ's triumphant 2nd coming. There are many types of this person in the scriptures and he follows the Lord's pattern to exactness. Ex: Moses, King Hezekiah, John the Baptist, Cyrus, etc. He will be the physical counterpart to the Anti-Christ and will lead the great work of gathering scattered Israel, conquering "The Assyrian" and preparing The New Jerusalem for the Savior and Lord Jesus Christ's eventual return. Watch and do not be deceived,---there will be a forerunner!

Thanks for all your books and videos. Question: Elder Anderson said yesterday that the wheat and the tares will grow up together until the second coming. Does that mean we will not go to the new Jerusalem and be separated from the wicked until the second coming? (Pretty sure it was Anderson and maybe I niss-heard him)

The wheat and the tares will grow up together until the wheat is gathered in, then the tares will be burned. This takes place during the great and dreadful day of the Lord. See JSH 1:37

The marred servant ... can't agree with you here. As Israel was led out of Egypt by "a" servant of God, Moses, So will there be a servant in the last restoration. Dozens of references to specific persons God will use. Avraham Gilleadi is big on this. When has God done anything but through individuals on behalf of the group? Love your main theme of the restoration going to eclipse the Egypt days, for so say the prophecies plainly.

Michael, in the heading of chapter 52 it says "the Messiah will deal prudently and be exalted. Then going to verse 13, "my servant shall deal prudently, and he shall be exalted". Seems to me the scripture IS saying it is Jesus Christ. Aren't the title headings considered scripture if it is is in the scriptures?

With something as multilayers as Isaiah where verses refer to both Babylon in antiquity and the Whore of Babylon in our day, how can you possible summarize all the meaning in a two or three sentence chapter heading? Further more the chapter heading summaries say totally different things in different languages. The reason I picked these particular chapters is that Christ Himself provides the commentary, please look at what He said about these verses, He is the ultimate source, plus He says that He was specifically commanded by His Father to teach this to us. Hard to think of more important chapters in Isaiah to start with than these!

When it comes to the 144k, John attributed 12k to Joseph, he did not mention the half tribes. 12x12=144. My mission President was a wonderful man named Hugo Arostegui from Uruguay. Noticed your last name is similar, he is one of three men that had the most profound impact on my life, my father and my uncle Jose Blanco is the other. You made me remember that, thanks!

@@officialmichaelbrush Hi again! Ok now I am confused(what is new)! When Jacob blessed his g- children he gave or made Efraim a tribe and Manasseh one too! 2 sons of Jacob lost theirs for divers reasons. I guess I am going to review it again! My reason to think this way is that in my family we have 3 different tribes represented. My mother is Judah my other siblings for now three are Ephraim and I am Manasseh ( so far no DNA has shown no Native American) Changing sub I was at the Portland temple and the Lady given me the N.N. Pronounced my last name perfectly! When done I asked how came you said my name perfectly! She said I had a mission president in Uruguay! Same person! I have had 4 people mention him to me. He is the kicker I am Brazilian my father lineage comes from Rio Grande do Sul. Policarpo Arosteguy was a journalist in Dom Pedrito. That is where bê line stops. I found one Policarpo records of a 15 years old in Argentina. Because of that I have done all the Temple work for them all and still doing it. The probability of us being related is very high…. When the name ends in the letter “I” is from the Spanish side of the Pyrenees and “Y” from the French side! I am moving to Cedar City as soon as my little place is done! And I would love ❤️ to get to know this president or former president I have heard of him forever.., By the way do you know how I could get in touch with him? My number is (661) 431-8382 I am on fb and messager. You are a busy person but if you want do the same. Anyway thanks 🙏

Ruben lost the birth rite but none of Jacob’s 12 sons were cut off. Regarding the tribes comprising the 144k see Revelation 7:4-7. Sadly my mission President is now gathering israel on the other side of the veil.

Do you really think there can only be pulled 10k from Judah and Joseph here on earth right now? Also, it states in Revelations they would be virgins. Does this mean they would be young men in the priesthood? Thanks, let me know. (Edits)..Now I can't find where they would be virgins, but I distinctly remember this. However, while reading again D&C 77 they will be High Priests.
Now, as I read, I can see...they have to be already sealed if we are in the seventh seal, because they are to be sealed in the sixth seal. Unless somehow we are not in the seventh seal yet, afterall everybody says it's the 20 years (and 10 months) but what if it's a literal half hour like is suggested it could be by one of the past prophets (Joseph F Smith?).
I found where they are virgins: Revelations 14: 3-5. So, they are 1) High Priests, Virgins, and Redeemed from the Earth, Firstfruits.

There could be more than 12k pulled from Judah and Joseph, but that is all John says there will be, 12k from every tribe. I believe you are referencing Orson Pratt on the half hour, he said it would either literal or after the manner of the Lord's time, I believe it is after the manner of the Lord's time. John is the authority on the 144k, the verses you have sited above are overlooked by most. Good job!

I believe at this point, pornography is the least of our worries. Not discounting it as being a major weakness but I would think greater acts of evil would have to be adopted by covenant makers. I can think of and have seen far greater evil than pornography in this world.

Pornography has roots in human trafficking. Pretty evil in my eyes. It is another factor in destroying marriages. The church does have the addiction recovery program and the Spouse and Family support guide to help individuals and family. The Utah county north missions adding couples meetings that have been a blessing to a great number of people.
