Can confirm this as my late grandparents used to own a small backyard pond full of goldfish for 40+ years and whenever there was a flood we'd have to go out after the storm and gather them up out of the grass and help get them back into the pond. Never had a dead one in the yard (dunno if any died of shock after getting back inside but thats a somewhat different subject)
