Hey guys , getting alot of comments about the leapord geckos and tortise being together ... I made the leapord geckos there own enclosure and then right after made the tortise his own enclosure aswell. Video coming out soon!
Nick and Paul awesome! Also I just watched Paul’s video and found out that you need a snapper, go to “My turtle source” they are in Florida and have the best turtles and tortoises ever! Just look them up online. Thanks man and good video
You did a fairly good improvement today, but as someone with four leo's I'll give some tips to improve even more so your animals get the best lives they can! I know you love them, it just needs some more improvements to make it better, and I know a loving pet keeper like you will be happy to make any change to make their lives better. I've tried to put reasons for everything so you know exactly why :) I know its a lot of stuff but I've only said things that I do myself, as do most good keepers in the leo community: - Change the substrate again. When you hold them, they are very soft. While the mat won't kill them, its also abrasive and will be irritating to their skin, plus really hard to clean up. Use kitchen shelf liner, paper towels or even slate tiles! You even said in the video that its like sandpaper - I think I'd cry if I had to sleep on that, imagine the poor animals with their tiny toes and soft bellies? - You need a proper wet hide. You can literally get a plastic tub, cut a hole in the side and fill it with sphagnum moss or paper towels you've already wet (sphagnum moss lasts longer). It's better to have it in a box so it doesn't get the air too humid which we don't want (they come from arid, dry countries) plus it is wet all over so they can get themselves wet easier to help with shedding. My four practically live in their wet hides, as do many geckos, they love them a lot! - you'll have better luck taming and handling if they are separate. I notice your favourite is calmer, likes handling, has its full tail. The other is skittish, less confident, doesn't want to be touched even after seven years of trying. They also don't seem to go near each other. I expect the confident one is bullying the skittish one which is why you have these behaviours. That would be why you have one that likes you whole the other is always trying to get away from any type of interactions. You will find that one is much shorter lived and stressed out, perhaps even thinner, than the favourite. Leo's should never be kept together after something like eight months, they are one hundred per cent solitary except for breeding and even that need monitoring because sometimes they'd rather kill each other. -The results in bullying with a male and female are just the same because they don't mate for life or make friends or anything. They will bully each other and the female will be tormented by the male for breeding during those seasons, plus she never has time off to replenish her supplies of calcium and vitamins, so it can eventually kill her like any other female creature. One day one may even kill the other and that would be really bad. Plus, with breeding, you may find the female will become egg-bound and not breeding will help this. Obviously, if you want to, that is fine but you need to not do it at every opportunity to make it safe for the female and that means waste no time in separating because she is at very high risk. - For feeding, I actually say you should do it TWICE A WEEK for adults, Superworms are totally fine, but they need dusting with Calculm+D3 (if you don't have a UV light) and the correct leopard gecko vitamines. Watch Leopard Gecko and her feeding videos for the right routine for that. Feeding by tonges each feed can really improve your bond, it helped me tame by babies when they were tiny so they were really tame by adulthood, and it would help you too. Plus, you can make sure you know exactly how much each is eating and not have escapees that turn into beatles! If you feed crickets, hoppers or dubias, just take them out after 15 minutes or so when they're done. A feeding rutine only twice a week is very important to their health. - I suggest taking the two of them to an exotics vet (has to be an exotics on, call ahead and check they do reptiles and have the right degrees to prove it) to check for impaction. There is little you can do, but at least you'll know so you can keep an eye on them and get an idea of lifespan if it is very bad, but hopefully, it is not. Reptiles pretend their fine until very suddenly dying on you, so its good to know what you have on your hands at all times. - while you wait to separate them, add more cold and warm hides so they can have complete blocks from each other. They will also need two wet hides until they are seperated at which point they can each have their own one. - join a leopard gecko group online, or at least checkout Leopard Gecko on youtube, to really learn about your options in keeping them. Leopard Gecko has instructions on feeding, routines, taming, many substrate types and anything else you need to learn that little bit more to get where you need to be :) I'm really glad you did some changes, it just needs that last little push and then you'll have it down :)
@@jenna7130 they can, but you will always, always run the risk of one killing the other. No matter what. Some animals can be paired as they are more tolarent of each other no matter the species but it really shouldn't be done will almost all gecko species. For breeding it is OK for small periods of time, but I've seen geckos that have been mauled by males/females during breeding, and it's not pretty. If they do that when activy wanting to breed, they most definitely can turn on each other when kept in the same box 24/7
@@jenna7130 there is always a dominant one. It could be like nicks where they are in separate hides because the stronger pushes out the weaker, or they may be together and you see one resting on the other in a dominate position. You may not always see it. Jessica's animal ark shows that it can occasionally work. But as even she says, it is not normal and shouldn't be tried and at any stage they can turn on each other and she is watching for the signs to separate them. There is always the two that live and survive together. There is always that one that doesn't get impacring on sand. There is always a one no matter the subject that manages it. That does not mean any person ever should be encouraged or praised for putting their animals in a position where at any point they may turn on each other and one could be mauled and or killed. It's irresponsible pet keeping to suggest it at all and I encourage you to think about separating your own two. As I suggesting at the start, you may find they have more confidence, are easier to handle and tame and with less stress they can have a longer lifespan
My last gdcko had passed at the age of 5 and he was midshedding thin and wouldnt eat and i never figured out why because it was so sudden, was it because of the heating lamp, i want to fix this before in the future if i get another one, rip
Well obviously he’s not trying his best. He should do proper research rather than doing hardly anything just for views and say he made “iNsAne iMpRoVeMenTs” (I’m on your side btw)
Do they rlly I cant affotd really most of what they need y see im kinda poor i can afford the lizzard but not everything it needs i got a huge cage for it for free tho! I may not get everything it needs like light but im working on it im just asking if it really needs calcium
@@lilbopeep3113 yes they really need calcium. Without it, they WILL develop metabolic bone disease which causes fragile and spongy bones, in severe cases not allowing them to open their jaw or walk. There is no step you can bypass to save money with an animal. If you can not afford it, wait until you can
Naruto Uzumaki you should not own a pet if you can’t even afford the basics. would you have achild if you can’t buy them clothes or food ? They need calcium, a specific diet, heat source, a lamp, moist hide, a surface they can rub on when shedding. it is stupid of you to keep a pet you can’t take proper care of.
Yeah really, my Gecko Hunter, has a way better set up, many hides, and he uses all of them, even though this guys has done something good it isn’t great, also, he hasn’t done his research, you Don’t put a female and male together, this guy needs to research, I know a ton more then him at 10, and have the happiest healthiest gecko in the world, can I mention that it is day time, it is not night, leopard geckos are nocturnal, they don’t eat during the day😐please fix this😐
Jacey Boi yeah exactly, sorry I didn’t know the technical work for active mostly at dawn and dust, but this guy clearly doesn’t know what he is doing, here at least
Lit Stuff it’s okay no need to apologise and the fact he sprays down the enclosure if he had done his research he’d have known that they need a humid hide not misting
Jacey Boi yeah, that’s mainly for crested geckos, I might be getting one soon, but I have only done 75% of the research, I don’t know if you watch leopardgecko but I am watching her for hours every day, because like she says, I don’t want to rescue one if I can’t care for one, I want to work as a vet and specialise in lizards, /reptiles
It's great to see these geckos getting a better housing but I recommend using a thermostat on the the heat mat, digital thermometers and also a moist hide with paper towel on the bottom and a cool hide watch leopard gecko as she will explain the basics I'm not leaving a hate comment, just advice as you and Paul are great youtubers. Thanks
i would think the other hide on the other side of his tank is the cool hide but yes i agree about the moist hide and if u dont wana put moist paper towles sphagnum moss works well too, u can go cheap for a hide and use a nice size tuppawear container with a hole in it use the lid to keep the humidity inside or they sell thises rock caves that have a bottom and top shaped like a rock they r cute too
I agree there should be a moist hide and as far as I know it's not recommended to keep a male and female together as he could stress her by pestering her to breed all the time but they seem to be OK together, just a thought and, hopefully, constructive advice. I love to watch Nick and Paul too xx
*Extra Advice* You should add another hide. Each terrarium should have at least 3 hides. The other one that you should add is a humid hide. You can use plastic bins etc and you have to keep it moist. If you dont have one of these it can lead to stuck shed which can cut circulation and lose of limbs. ✌😊 Keep up the amazing content!
Legend Prime geckos don’t have the same brain capacity as other advanced animals to “like” something. You can keep a Leo in a 5 gal it’s whole life and you won’t be able to tell whether they like it or not, it’s your own brain justifying awful husbandry. Why y’all weirdos simping for shitty care “leave them alone” headass. There’s a vast difference in aesthetic based opinions and factual based husbandry comments.
@@MrRod317 lmao if he really knew how to care for them this video wouldnt have been made. You cant tell whether a gecko likes a tank or not, thats just us anthropomorphizing them. You cant stand by and play knight in shining armor for people who dont know how to take care of animals they chose to keep. One thing to accept mistakes, another thing to learn and grow from it. Yall sound like fools
Now this a responsible guy. Instead of ignoring his criticism to stroke his own ego like a lot of people would this guy decided to fix how he was taking care of his animals. Good on you
I'm really glad you listened to the advice on your previous video and gave your betta more water and have decided to separate the tortoise and leopard geckos. However, the new enclosure does still need changes in order to make it suitable for the animals. I don't recommend housing Male and females together due to dominance issues, over breeding, and not sharing food. Because she has a regen tail it's harder to see her weight unless you weigh her. If you insist on keeping them together you will need to make changes to the tank. A larger heat pad with a thermostat should be provided and 2 hot hides so they aren't fighting for resources. 2 cool hides should also be provided along with 2 humid hides with moist moss inside for when they are in shed. Spraying the whole enclosure isnt a very good method and it's best to allow the animal to select the humidity. I didnt see a dish in the enclosure with calcium, Leo's need to be able to free feed on calcium when they choose and their feeders should always be dusted with calcium with d3 and a multivitamin at least 2-3x a month. I'd also like to suggest more enrichment, the tank is completely bare in the centre. Also please make sure to scrub water dishes and hides especially new ones before they go in the tank, they grow bacteria and the water dish looked rather scummy. If I may recommend watching a few of LeopardGeckoRUclipss videos on leopard gecko care I think that may be super helpful. You want to do what's best for them while also promoting the proper care for others to see, I hope you will continue to make the necessary changes!
@@NickBingo oh that’s surprising. You want the best life for them. People like you see and animal and just buy it. Don’t do this. Do research. I’ve been researching for half a year and still don’t have a leopard gecko. Do research when buying an entirely new life and it’s your responsibility
You should really add a moist hide it helps them shed better. What I did for mine is I got a good size Tupperware bowl with a lid then I cut a hole in the front of the bowl put moist paper towels in there works great! Also you should dust your feeders with calcium and multivitamin. Loving the videos!
Thank you so much for setting them up in their own tank! It’s great to see how much you love them :) 2 suggestions though. 1, they could really do with a hide that has damp moss inside to help them shed. 2, I personally would recommend more plants ect to help keep them stimulated. Keep up the good work!!!
That’s soooo much better than before well done!! But I think you still need to add a thermostat to the heat pad and maybe separate them because a male and female constantly together is a lot of stress in the female. Also I think they would benefit a lot with a humid hide and a hygrometer to make sure they’re shedding well!!
This breaks my heart to see how these Leos were being treated. Housed together with a tortoise, filthy cage, no clean water, SAND as substrate (which is horrible because they can injest it and it can clog their airway), and no humid hide which they need for shedding. I absolutely cant stand this.
Their tails are all injured most likely from fights if you really can’t take of a simple starter reptile like a leopard gecko with all the information out there you shouldn’t own any animals
I have researched the sand and it’s not a no go. I think as long as it’s tamped down and warm it’s okay. With rocks and and sand it’s pretty similar to their natural habitat in the Middle East.
Glad to see u changed the enclosures and everything but sand mats are not good for them the rocks can break off and get eaten and they can harbor a lot of bacteria but u definitely did good with listening to ppl and changeing your enclosure instead of yelling at ppl that it’s fine like most ppl would do
Just thought of another suggestion, you could get them a moist hide. It would help when they are in shed and also with hydration. I use an Exo Terra Gecko Cave for mine. It has a lid that lifts off so you can spray the inside with water. I have mine filled with sphagnum moss but you can also use paper towel. Just don't put the moist hide on the hot side of the tank or it will dry out so fast you will have to spray it multiple times a day. I have mine in the middle of the tank and even though I live in Wisconsin I still have to spray it every morning.
Hey! I love the new enclosure! I have a few tips to give that may help with taking care of your lovely babies. TIPS: -A moist hide with paper towels or moss will help them get a humid environment to shed in without increasing the overall humidity in the tank. It also helps having an extra hide in the tank. - Adding calcium w/o d3 to the tank will help them get the extra calcium they need. Also, make sure to gut load your feeders bugs and dust them in calcium w/ d3. - I suggest adding more decor to the tank for added enrichment! - You never said if you had this or not but, adding something to regulate the under tank heater is a good safety precaution! - I suggest just putting down paper towels. It may sound like that could be a bad idea but, it’s actually one of the best options for leopard geckos. It’s affordable, easy to clean, and removes all risk of impaction! I hope these tips help a lot! I’m always happy to answer any questions and I’m just here to improve the life of animals. The improvement in the enclosure is great so far!
So I'm not the kind of person to tell you what to do, but something is nagging at me. It's normally not healthy to have leopard geckos to live together, have they always lived in the same tank? I was watching the way the female behaves and I would suggest perhaps separating the two, being in the same enclosure as another bigger leopard gecko could be stressing her out, also the way you handle her is a bit rough. If your leopard gecko is like that you should make slow movements but I can't tell you how to handle things, the only thing I'm suggesting is you separate the leopard geckos, the easiest way to do it is to put a wall in the enclosure maybe made of cardboard if you don't feel like buying a new one. Then once you get them separated I would try to interact with her for at least 15 minutes a day, you don't have to hold her just get her used to your hand more, I'm not seeing anything aggressive about her I'm just seeing her scared of your hand. You can ignore this comment I'm just stating what I see and some suggestions for what I see. Ah also, don't keep them on mealworms. Geckos absolutely love waxworms. Probably a pain by now but I would recommend a tank that opens up from the side, it just makes your hand less predator-like because in the wild birds swoop down and grab them.
@@NickBingo well still..it's still a big risk to take I guess if you want to try my suggestion you can, I'm not hating on you I'm just making suggestions
Careful with wax worms Leopard geckos can become addicted to them and they are very high in fat and junk but dont have any nutrition if you want variety dubia roaches are awesome and horn worms Hornworms are a bit more expensive but theu are a delicacy and they are packed full of calcium and other nutrients most people don't even dust them
Great job Nick! You did everything right for your scale babies. I just have 2 suggestions to make upkeep easier for you. First suggestion is to put a folded piece of paper towel on the area where they go to the bathroom, that way you just have to replace the paper towel to clean the tank instead of having to take everything out and hose down the sand mat. Second suggestion is to cut the excess off the sand mat with a box cutter so everything fits nicely and the Geckos won't try to get under the mat.
TIP: I love how you keep learning and taking advice from your fans and I want to give you a few tips to make your geckos habitat look good and have your geckos happy. 1- I would add a plastic tub with wet paper towels for whenever your gecko sheds, when a gecko sheds it needs moisture to loosen up the old skin which helps it slide right off. 2- I would add more large decor like rocks and more plants which also act as extra hiding places and makes the geckos feel like there safer. 3- I recommend having a heating mat that reaches at least half of the tank. You also place the moist hide in between cold and warm side. 4- keep a mealworm dish that you can use for whenever you leave the geckos for a while. They sell the, for cheap and you can buy some that looks natural for your tank. This is all the tips I have.
Hi love your videos leopard geckos do not need UV light because they are nocturnal but it might be a good idea to dust the feeder insects in calcium powder 🦎🦎🦎🦎🐢🐢🐢🐍🐍
Surtov Calcium is not a drug! It’s a supplement that they can’t get from the diets given in captivity. Although putting calcium in the cage may not be best for every gecko(Although it has lots of different benefits and works for lots of happy geckos), it’s always a good idea to dust calcium supplements w/ d3 on the feeders!
Great video! And thank you for being willing to listen to comments and do what’s best for your pets. Their enclosure is so much better for them now! There are always things that can be improved (I’m always researching and trying to improve my own pets’ tanks) but this is a perfect start!
Btw I would be great if you could make a humid hid with a container with a hole for them to get through and put damp paper towels in it because it helps them shed. Change out the paper towels 2 times a day.
As if it’s not bad enough having multiple geckos in one enclosure, you had them housed with a tortoise - what the fuck. How can you get this many things wrong - it’s basic knowledge for any reptile owner.
Best substrate to use is paper towels so u can change frequently so they do not get harmed by having there poop or urite(which is the white thing connected to the poop which is like dried pee
So glad you fixed their cage I just have on question do you gut load you insects(feed them) and you should also be dusting your feeder insects with calcium and vitamins if you want them to live a long and happy life!
Its cool to see people listening to advice and adapting abd improving their care, no matter how long you own animals for, even if they're very happy, there's always something you can do to improve and adapt or just change things up
I think you should fill the tank up more. My Leo loves his tank because it is packed with stuff he can do and stuff he can hide in. You don’t have to do this but a background would also look really cool with your tank. I think you should make this tank even more epic.
Just some tips! Leopard geckos are not supposed to be together, they do not like being in group, but being alone, they will fight if its a boy and boy, and girl and boy will mate and even fight, to the death. Sand is very bad for them, i do not suggest you putting sand in a tank! A thermostat would also be great, to see the temp to make sure its right, i would suggest watching the youtuber “ leopard gecko” since she has lots of good and professional tips and do’s and donts!
Wow mealworms totally bud those are called super worms lol great video add some more plants and a humid hide and maybe at like a bigger piece of drift wood
I live that you took the advice instead of being ignorant like alot of other RUclipsrs, great job, also alot of people will say that only one leopard gecko should be in a invlosure but they seem too be fine with each other so I'd say ignore those ppl
Hey! Its great that you redid the tanks! There's only a few other things to make it pretty much perfect for them! When you feed the insects to the leopard geckos, make sure your put them in calcium first :) The next thing is that they need a warm hide on one side of the tank (so on top of the heat mat), they need a cool hide (so on the other side, not on a heat mat) and a humid hide :) The final thing is to get a digital thermometer just so you can make sure your leopard geckos tank is the correct temperature. Once you have done that then your tank will be perfect :)
Thank you so much for listening to the advise! I personally left some for you a while back. It’s good to see people improve. Keeping leopard geckos together is pretty controversial but as long as there’s no fighting it should work out. :)
You're definitely trying to do what is best for your animals, and this is a great start! I would suggest adding a humid hide, a thermometer on the heat mat, a calcium dish, and always dusting insects with calcium and vitamin powder. Also not housing them all together would be great as well. Great start, but still a bit to go!
Actually, even a 20 gallon tank is good to house 2 geckos, so a 40 gallon is just fine. Though I agree with the open space part and sand, he should have used reptile carpet or tiles.
@@Steffy07 you should never cohabilitate geckos they should each have a separate enclosure they can tolerate each other for up to years but it only takes a minute to attack and severely injure the other
@@Steffy07 reptile carpet is very bad too. And no Leos are solitary and should never be kept together unless you're breeding them. These should be okay since they've been together for seven years though
Definitely need one more hide they need a moist hide that they go into while shedding helps out a lot(if you want a hide that looks cool most you tubers get the hide that’s like a rock with a whole and put a damp paper towel in it )
Your tank is a lot better now than it was but sand mats aren't the best because they're hard to clean and harbour bacteria. As well your leopard geckos should be separated as they are solitary and can fight. Also you need a moist hide in their tank for when they shed and more clutter in the tank.
Nice vid bro. Love how you are always willing to do what is best for the animals. I also heard that geckos love climbing, so It would be good for them if you put some branches for them to climb on. And it would look dope with branches and wood in the middle! The tank looks sweet, good video man.
If we dont learn, how can we ever do better for our animals? Getting an animal of any kind is always a learning process. At least you are willing to learn and adapt to give your pets the best life they can have. Keep up the amazing work, and never stop learning.
Good job with updating the leopard gecko enclosure. But I recommend maybe putting a moist hide in. You can easily make one by using a container. And maybe in there hides put a paper towel down so there not always on the rough sand. And maybe something in the middle of the enclosure. Just in case they do fight (even if they don’t it’s always a possibility) they can have some distance from each other and not always be in sight. But other then that good job homie
There wasn’t really anything “brilliant” about this setup. It wasn’t even the bare minimum. No hate tho, I don’t follow his channel so I don’t know if he’s finally given them a proper enclosure, but I certainly hope that’s the case.
Everything else but eco earth is bad for Leopard geckos the substrate you have in your in closure causes cuts along there mouth when there trying to eat food and isn’t really soft for there fee ps. keep up the good work
It’s good for them because it’s natural and they feel like in the wild they need to learn how to hunt and how to survive in the wild its good for them to know
Surtov changing the substrate isn’t stoping them from hunting are you dumb if anything eco earth is more natural cause they can burrow in it if they get spooked or do things a gecko does in the wild WITH DIRT a fucking sand mat isn’t gonna make them feel like there in the wild
just a suggestion but geckos LOVE IT when they can climb so if u were to put some perches (that u can suction cup to the glass btw) or put in some branches they would just be so happy, but if u don’t want too their cage is already great and i loved watching u make it💕💕
*****NOT a hate comment. Just some handy advice*****Since you are housing two leopard geckos together you should have at least 3-4 hides. 2 on the warm and 2 on the cold, so that way if they do fight they can separate themselves and still be on just the warm or cool side. Also your enclosure for them is very plain. I recommend putting more plants, logs or other objects in there for enrichment. These objects could also act as a place for them to hide without having to buy a big bulky hide. If they ever have shed issues I recommend putting in a moist hide, especially offer it when they go into shed. You could add a bottle cap filled with calcium powder into their enclosure (They would know when they need it) it would reduce dusting their food with calcium. So you would only have to occasionally dust their food with other vitamin powder that they could need. I hope this helps! And sorry if its a little long
Hey guys , getting alot of comments about the leapord geckos and tortise being together ... I made the leapord geckos there own enclosure and then right after made the tortise his own enclosure aswell. Video coming out soon!

@@rosiehaycock332 it really does suck geckos don’t really like it humid

Still LOTS of room for improvement.
You did a fairly good improvement today, but as someone with four leo's I'll give some tips to improve even more so your animals get the best lives they can! I know you love them, it just needs some more improvements to make it better, and I know a loving pet keeper like you will be happy to make any change to make their lives better. I've tried to put reasons for everything so you know exactly why :) I know its a lot of stuff but I've only said things that I do myself, as do most good keepers in the leo community:
- Change the substrate again.
Leopard Gecko has instructions on feeding, routines, taming, many substrate types and anything else you need to learn that little bit more to get where you need to be :)
I'm really glad you did some changes, it just needs that last little push and then you'll have it down :)
I agree with everything you've said. Absolutely brilliant and detailed comment 👍👍👍
Valkyrie Smith Leo’s can be kept together but it depends on how they are together and their gender
Yes there is a risk but, my two are housed together and they actually get along great
@@jenna7130 there is always a dominant one.
Please don’t try to hold a grip on their tail when they try running away, it was giving me anxiety 😁
On the bright side he listens to these comments
Ya
they can drop there tail too
My last gdcko had passed at the age of 5 and he was midshedding thin and wouldnt eat and i never figured out why because it was so sudden, was it because of the heating lamp, i want to fix this before in the future if i get another one, rip
Did you try spraying the enclosure with water it could help with the shedding process
i know you’re trying your best but i really just wanna come over and change everything and make it better cause wtf💀

I reccomend watching the youtuber Leopard Gecko. She has great videos. Also leapord geckos need calcium.

I cant affotd really most of what they need y see im kinda poor i can afford the lizzard but not everything it needs i got a huge cage for it for free tho!

I don’t blame them it do look like a tick and it do look like a beetle I mean we will never know
The “new and improved” enclosure is literally the bare minimum for one leo
Yeah really, my Gecko Hunter, has a way better set up, many hides, and he uses all of them, even though this guys has done something good it isn’t great, also, he hasn’t done his research, you Don’t put a female and male together, this guy needs to research, I know a ton more then him at 10, and have the happiest healthiest gecko in the world, can I mention that it is day time, it is not night, leopard geckos are nocturnal, they don’t eat during the day😐please fix this😐
Lit Stuff I agree, and leopard geckos are crepuscular meaning most active at dawn and dusk
Jacey Boi yeah, that’s mainly for crested geckos, I might be getting one soon, but I have only done 75% of the research, I don’t know if you watch leopardgecko but I am watching her for hours every day, because like she says, I don’t want to rescue one if I can’t care for one, I want to work as a vet and specialise in lizards,

I love to watch Nick and Paul too xx
you could also add more variety to their diet because mealworms are mostly fat
Also some foliage
I am glad you want to do whats best for your animals. Always keep learning.
Housing geckos and a tortoise together is the best for the animals?
E̲x̲o̲t̲i̲c̲O̲p̲t̲i̲c̲s̲ he want to make himself a better bet owner
E̲x̲o̲t̲i̲c̲O̲p̲t̲i̲c̲s̲ it’s not, there why he upgraded their tank and now has the tortoise and geckos housed separately
*Extra Advice*
You should add another hide. Each terrarium should have at least 3 hides. The other one that you should add is a humid hide. You can use plastic bins etc and you have to keep it moist. If you dont have one of these it can lead to stuck shed which can cut circulation and lose of limbs.
✌😊
Keep up the amazing content!
They like it let the leopard geckos be
As well as a heat mat on one hide ☺️
Yall sound like fools
@@MrRod317 lmaooo its not being a smarty its just common sense bruv but u do u ig goodnight💞
Agree with this comment 100%
BreezExotics Love the info and agree with everything :D

is it true they don’t need heat lamps ?

Just some tips
I recommend adding a “humid hide” and some more plants and things to climb on
I doubt these poor Geckos are still alive now
Well they are !

I also use a moist hide like that but I put Eco Earth, it's a very good substrate along as you mix some water in it maybe once or twice a week.
Thank you so much for setting them up in their own tank! It’s great to see how much you love them :) 2 suggestions though. 1, they could really do with a hide that has damp moss inside to help them shed. 2, I personally would recommend more plants ect to help keep them stimulated. Keep up the good work!!!
I’m so glad you aren’t housing them together anymore 😖
That’s soooo much better than before well done!! But I think you still need to add a thermostat to the heat pad and maybe separate them because a male and female constantly together is a lot of stress in the female. Also I think they would benefit a lot with a humid hide and a hygrometer to make sure they’re shedding well!!
I’m really glad you have been trying to improve it and actually listened to everyone who tried to help! I respect that ✊
This breaks my heart to see how these Leos were being treated. Housed together with a tortoise, filthy cage, no clean water, SAND as substrate (which is horrible because they can injest it and it can clog their airway), and no humid hide which they need for shedding. I absolutely cant stand this.
if i can i take this geckos hes so dumb
Hey guys he is doing his best
Some people just shouldn’t have animals
Their tails are all injured most likely from fights if you really can’t take of a simple starter reptile like a leopard gecko with all the information out there you shouldn’t own any animals
I have researched the sand and it’s not a no go. I think as long as it’s tamped down and warm it’s okay. With rocks and and sand it’s pretty similar to their natural habitat in the Middle East.
Really shouldn’t keep a male & female together, Im surprised they haven’t bred, or that he hasn’t hurt her
Hey I'm early love these extra vids your doing good nick and Paul x
Dope vid nick keep up the amazing work 💪🏻👊🏻🔥
love that you educate yourself for all your animals💚keep up the awsome videos
Glad to see u changed the enclosures and everything but sand mats are not good for them the rocks can break off and get eaten and they can harbor a lot of bacteria but u definitely did good with listening to ppl and changeing your enclosure instead of yelling at ppl that it’s fine like most ppl would do
How can u have geckos for 7 years and still get their care incorrect.
TIPS:
-A moist hide with paper towels or moss will help them get a humid environment to shed in without increasing the overall humidity in the tank.
Yes they have lived together since babies for 7 years
@@NickBingo
well still..it's still a big risk to take I guess if you want to try my suggestion you can, I'm not hating on you I'm just making suggestions
Careful with wax worms
Leopard geckos can become addicted to them and they are very high in fat and junk but dont have any nutrition if you want variety dubia roaches are awesome and horn worms
Hornworms are a bit more expensive but theu are a delicacy and they are packed full of calcium and other nutrients most people don't even dust them
@@angelicamccoy6113
I know
Great job Nick! Second suggestion is to cut the excess off the sand mat with a box cutter so everything fits nicely and the Geckos won't try to get under the mat.
i love your channel love you guyssss💕💕
TIP:
I love how you keep learning and taking advice from your fans and I want to give you a few tips to make your geckos habitat look good and have your geckos happy.
They don't need UVB but it is beneficial for them to have
I just replied to another comment like this the powder is bad for them they need natural healthy meal’s not drugs that “give calcium”
No you need to supplement their food with multivitamins and calcium powders to ensure they're getting everything they need.
Surtov you obviously don’t know anything, dumbass
Great video! And thank you for being willing to listen to comments and do what’s best for your pets. Their enclosure is so much better for them now! There are always things that can be improved (I’m always researching and trying to improve my own pets’ tanks) but this is a perfect start!
Hi nick am from Dubai am regularly watching Paul videos now i start yours too... you doing amazing videos.
Btw I would be great if you could make a humid hid with a container with a hole for them to get through and put damp paper towels in it because it helps them shed. Change out the paper towels 2 times a day.
I did that for mine I agree
As if it’s not bad enough having multiple geckos in one enclosure, you had them housed with a tortoise - what the fuck. How can you get this many things wrong - it’s basic knowledge for any reptile owner.
Best substrate to use is paper towels so u can change frequently so they do not get harmed by having there poop or urite(which is the white thing connected to the poop which is like dried pee
So glad you fixed their cage I just have on question do you gut load you insects(feed them) and you should also be dusting your feeder insects with calcium and vitamins if you want them to live a long and happy life!
I feed my cricket potatoes and dust the crickets and worms in calcium and multivitamins. Do you think that is a good idea?

I think you should fill the tank up more. My Leo loves his tank because it is packed with stuff he can do and stuff he can hide in. You don’t have to do this but a background would also look really cool with your tank. I think you should make this tank even more epic.
That was a mealworm beetle lolol xD
Just some tips! Leopard geckos are not supposed to be together, they do not like being in group, but being alone, they will fight if its a boy and boy, and girl and boy will mate and even fight, to the death. A thermostat would also be great, to see the temp to make sure its right, i would suggest watching the youtuber “ leopard gecko” since she has lots of good and professional tips and do’s and donts!

Once you have done that then your tank will be perfect :)
yay first
Edit: You should try a 90 gallon for the amount of geckos you have.
It's great that you do research and take advice from your followers. The new set up looks awesome.
Another great video. 🤘🤘
8:04 I’m no expert but you should NOT be keeping a Turtle with 2 Leopard geckos

That was a beetle that develop from meal/super worms which you can use to breed more
Thank you so much for listening to the advise! I personally left some for you a while back. It’s good to see people improve. Keeping leopard geckos together is pretty controversial but as long as there’s no fighting it should work out. :)
Awesome video
You're definitely trying to do what is best for your animals, and this is a great start! I would suggest adding a humid hide, a thermometer on the heat mat, a calcium dish, and always dusting insects with calcium and vitamin powder. Also not housing them all together would be great as well. Great start, but still a bit to go!
Hey love your videos and Paul's
you're killing it nick!!! loving the videos , keep it up !!!!!
It's still bad, much open space, the sand mad can still cause issues and they should not be kept together, it's a good upgrade

Hi nick i am from Pakistan
I watch your videos regularly
You should get more betta fish to breed
Or your videos are very nice
Are you a cricketer for the Pakistan cricket team
Your tank is a lot better now than it was but sand mats aren't the best because they're hard to clean and harbour bacteria. As well your leopard geckos should be separated as they are solitary and can fight. Also you need a moist hide in their tank for when they shed and more clutter in the tank.
woah wait i thought my petsmart had a variety but yours has turtles, crabs, etc. mine only has small pets, birds, a few reptiles, fish, and cats
They sell cats at a regular pet store? In the Netherlands you need to find a breeder or go to the animal shelter.
Nice vid bro. Love how you are always willing to do what is best for the animals. I also heard that geckos love climbing, so It would be good for them if you put some branches for them to climb on. And it would look dope with branches and wood in the middle! The tank looks sweet, good video man.
Damn bro. Could have washed the tank out or at least vacuumed the rest of the sand lol. Lazy ass
If we dont learn, how can we ever do better for our animals? Getting an animal of any kind is always a learning process. At least you are willing to learn and adapt to give your pets the best life they can have. Keep up the amazing work, and never stop learning.
You and Paul should both get a saltwater tank. I have a couple of my own and they’re amazing

Remember you need to give the calcium in with their food and remember to de-chlorinate the water but everything else was brilliant!!
There wasn’t really anything “brilliant” about this setup. It wasn’t even the bare minimum. No hate tho, I don’t follow his channel so I don’t know if he’s finally given them a proper enclosure, but I certainly hope that’s the case.
Nice video, Nick! I really enjoy your content.

Z7recon_ your dumb
It’s good for them because it’s natural and they feel like in the wild they need to learn how to hunt and how to survive in the wild its good for them to know
Surtov changing the substrate isn’t stoping them from hunting are you dumb if anything eco earth is more natural cause they can burrow in it if they get spooked or do things a gecko does in the wild WITH DIRT a fucking sand mat isn’t gonna make them feel like there in the wild
just a suggestion but geckos LOVE IT when they can climb so if u were to put some perches (that u can suction cup to the glass btw) or put in some branches they would just be so happy, but if u don’t want too their cage is already great and i loved watching u make it💕💕
That substralecarpet is harmful for there feet. They can hurt them. Like you said it is like sandpaper.
Do Reaserach before commenting😄
