Good gesture that they would build and open this museum but in today's climate which is increasingly swinging to the 'alt-right' and populist conservatism, it's fair to say that I think this museum will get plenty of backlash from the mainstream public. Make no mistake, the Internet (especially comments sections) can sometimes bring the worst in people.

When the African American Museum placed its 'Whiteness' Chart on Its Website, I swore I would never visit the museum. Now more than ever, it's become more racist, something it wasn't supposed to be for. Before this museum opened, most of its exhibits were in the National museum of American History.

Has anyone been to this yet? If so did they have anything on the inventions of African Americans or just Slave/Civil Rights/Entertainers.

+Jay I have not been there yet, but I've watched many videos of the tours of the facility, and I did notice some exhibits on inventors such as Garrett Morgan.
