Discover the tranquil charm of Bacong, Negros Oriental, on a Sunday morning as we follow the locals' routine after church. The small farmers' market between the historic church, town hall and plaza becomes a hub of activity with fresh produce and local goods. Unlike Dauin, Bacong has no dedicated painitan, where early risers gather for coffee and traditional snacks.
Hoping to find the townspeople enjoying their Sunday, I ventured to the beaches but found them surprisingly quiet until around midday. Alone on the serene shores of Barangay San Miguel, I enjoyed a quiet coffee before walking back through a modest fishing village.
Though today's search for vibrant Sunday scenes came up short, Bacong's simplicity and charm remain captivating. Next time, I'll be exploring its mountainous hinterland to discover more of its hidden beauty. Stay tuned for the journey!
