New York City is a hell which native New Yorkers are OBLIVIOUS to. I lived and worked there for 17 years, including a law firm in the Woolworth Building, one block away from the World Trade Center on 911. My building was allowed to reopen only 6 days later, with dust up to my ankles, no electricity or phone service. I contracted leukemia and every lung malady known to medicine. Only a craven Corporate City like New York would allow that.
I used the subway system to commute to Forest Hills and then the Upper East side. This video is a realistic depiction of what I experienced in commuting after midnight. It's heartbreaking to witness small children on the street or living next to a subway platform. As long as New Yorkers are indifferent to the homeless, or see right through them as if they're not even there, these deplorable conditions will never end.

The USA politicians lied and said that the lower Manhattan air was tested and found to be as pure as a mountain breeze right after 911. As a matter of fact they lied about EVERYTHING that day. I was almost a 911 first responder. If they had picked me I'd be sick, or more likely long dead. Get well, friend. I'm so glad I'm long gone and far away from there now.

I think the crazy part is there are million dollar homes all throughout NY, CT, etc. To get affordable housing, you have to look in Vermont maybe Pennsylvania. So all the workers that make minimum wage have to live in Vermont and Pennsylvania.

NYC merchants are losing a tremendous amount of money because people will not visit if they have to endure so much filth and unsafe situations. When I was in high school we used to take the AmTrak up from Jersey to go to Yankees and Jets games as well as concerts in Madison Square Garden. Saint Patrick's Day, New Years Eve, general Christmas shopping, Radio City Music Hall, McSorley's. All of the people from eastern Pa, Jersey and Connecticut that are an easy train ride away but they simply choose not to visit NYC are lost customers for NYC merchants. The revenue lost solely because city politicians and administrators fail to provide a clean and safe environment is huge.
