- Last year I graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in English Literature and Philosophy. I know when I was looking around unis I was really interested in what was on the English Literature reading list. So I thought I'd give you an idea of what you can expect by running through all the books I read for my English Lit degree.
I go through what I read for first, second, and third year. From compulsory modules to one that I chose. Please leave me any questions you have!

I did an English Lit & Journalism degree at Cardiff and I graduated in 2015. Thoroughly enjoyed my time there and miss it a lot!
Really enjoyed watching your video, very useful for those thinking of studying at Cardiff. I studied English Lit at Cardiff 7 years ago now. There were so many great lecturers/many diverse modules, and some great books by women authors. I’m glad to see some of the same texts being studied. So cool you got to do a study abroad in L.A :)
What do you do for a living now?
Freelance copywriter, although I’ve dabbled in publishing and journalism :)@@barirahgul6402
if you‘re thinking about reading more from Bernadine Evaristo I would definitely recommend listening to the audiobooks. The spacing in the books is kind of wild and many people find it super annoying. But when it‘s read it just sounds like normal people talking 😌
Good to see so many classics on the literature course.
but what the hell is "girls in the media " i.e. feminism doing on an English degree?
@@edmund184 You're new to this aren't you?

Hey, I am starting English lit at Cardiff in September and people I know are starting to buy their books- do you recommend buying the books now or as you go along? Because I see there are book bundles on the Cardiff Blackwell website and I honestly dk what to do and I leave soon 😰. Xxx
Hey! Personally I liked to have all my books ahead of time so that I could get on top of reading in advance. I’d recommend looking for books second hand though (there’s options on Amazon and other online retailers) as it tends to work out cheaper than Blackwell’s bundles, but the bundles are super easy if you’re not too worried about price! Good luck with everything! Hope you have a wonderful time in Cardiff! xxx
Hey - I've applied for the same course in Cardiff. How did you enjoy it??
I’ve also applied for this course at Cardiff! Have u received an offer yet?
@@nadias2667 Yep. You?
