Yeah, I know what you mean about them having no donate link. As someone new to streaming, I will say I was originally discouraged by everything I read on adding one to the panels. People made it seem like it was acting entitled when you have no viewers to "ask for money". I've since added one even though I'm just starting out. That should be some advice that isn't given anymore!

Good Morning, My name is Zen, and I suffer from PTSD/Anxiety Attacks/Depression & Panic disorder.
I stream because I refuse to take medication and gaming makes me feel normal and keeps my mind busy as well as helps me with income due to the fact I can not work because of my illness and have been denied financial aid.
I rose up pretty fast on Twitch in less than a year, new followers daily and avg views increased weekly. Due to relationship issues I stopped streaming/gaming for a few months which did nothing to help anything (she hated games and anime, which I love playing/watching and creating).
Life was hell, and even though I wanted to die, I tried to work things out and sacrificed my happiness to salvage hers..
After we broke up and some time had passed, I slowly got back into gaming/streaming again.
I felt better each day to the point I was back on a routine, however I soon found out that the Twitch Community is relentless and very unforgiving.
Even though i had 1300 followers, I sat at 0 viewers many times, even still I'm lucky if I have one or two viewers and treat everyone like they are in the room with me when they do show up.
I'm even giving away a 2500$ macbook and 400$ ps4 pro when I hit 10k followers but no one is coming to the stream to even find out how to enter, at all.. My sponsors aren't happy, my tweets and IG posts go unnoticed and my friends aren't supportive at all, if anything they're very toxic towards me for no real reason at least as far as I am aware.
I'm a overly nice guy who has been screwed over by people time and time again, even people I've gone out of my way to help.
I am also a multi-genre musician and I make music for people who are lost and need something to hold onto but even my music has seen a huge decline over time.
This isn't a plea for help,trust I don't even feel like I'm worth peoples time as a human being or a lover or a friend, people don't even DM me anymore on social media unless I message first. Idk why.
This story is just for you out there who have dealt with similar things even in the slightest.
Please don't give up, whatever your dream is, make it a reality!
I may never be a big streamer or musician as I'm already almost 32 years old and no matter what I do/say/post there is either no love or complete toxic criticism, but I dream of being known.
And what is my main goal? to help people like me, who feel like me, who feel like no one cares, who have been mistreated like me, who aspire to be their best self no matter what.
I love you and I am always here for you, even if I am down, even if I do get known,

Has 2 viewers, also has "follower only chat" enabled. I swear Twitch just randomly turns that on people, and they don't even realize it, and it's a huge killer for small streams. It actually pained me to see in this video.

@@Svendar if it's enabled, it means that anyone viewing the stream can't type messages to the streamer, unless they are following. It's a killer for smaller streamers because if someone comes in to the stream, the likelihood that they will follow before being able to communicate with the streamer is pretty low. Most of the time, someone will come in, realize followers only chat is on, and then leave. And the streamer probably will never even know.
You can disable it or enable it by looking at your stream page, then in the chat box, under the area where you type a message, and next to the purple "chat" button, there is a setting button. You can find the settings for it there.
Don't be naive lol. The streamers themselves activate that to increase their followers count. You should never force people to hit that follow unless they want to.
@@torinux4980 Nah, it's a killer for small streams, and most of those small streamers don't even know that they have it enabled. I've seen it many times. Nothing naive about it.
"Followers Only Chat" was created for big streamers to use because when you have thousands of viewers watching, the chat generally goes by so fast that the streamer can't keep up. It's the only way that big streamers can keep chat in check and keep some level of communication between themselves and the stream. There are also sub only chat, and message limiting timers, but that goes to an even bigger level.
But, for a small streamer, let's say someone who only has 5 viewers, if followers only chat was on, it would definitely hurt their stream growth. Small streamers, in most cases, build their streams purely through communication with their chat, building relationships and connections with people so they will continually come back. After streams get to a certain size after years, where the streamer can't keep up anymore, that's when things like "followers only chat" starts being considered. For small streamers, "followers only chat" has nothing to do with "forcing" people to follow them, in fact it has the opposite effect, most people will just see that they can't chat, and then just leave.
Edit: Also big streamers don't care as much about their follow numbers, as they do their sub numbers. So even big streamers having "follower only chat" enabled has nothing to do with them forcing people to follow. At that point, they are just looking for subs.

Tbat's what I was wondering, how the fuck can people be hating on someone that is doing something so nice for people by donating to their stream and supporting them. Most people barely get by and most (not going to say all because I know some streamers that take donations for granted) greatly appreciate any donations they get.
