    Excellent info. We need one for the non-traditional student long out of college.

    Hi Dr. Freedman.
    Thanks so much for these great videos you've been making. So so awesome and so so educative.
    I am a third year medical student in my home country Liberia, west Africa.
    I will be coming over in the US as a permanent resident.
    What is your advice and how do you think that I have a chance to enroll or not into a US med school?

      You are most welcome. Your best bet would be to complete medical school in your home country and try to do your residency training here. It is very difficult for international students to get in to U.S. medical schools.

    Hello. I am a 3rd year premed major. I will not be ready to take the MCAT until September. When would you advise me to apply to med school? this year or next year? Will I be reducing my odds for acceptance if I apply this year?

    Question, you said one of the main reasons to submit early is because of interviews. So is it possible to receive an interview before submitting secondaries?

      Hi Rushane, Your application won't be reviewed until your secondary is in. We wish you the best!

    I’m currently a sophomore in high school, but i am taking college classes and it’s looking like i’m going to graduate with a bachelors degree at the same time I graduate high school. I’m scared because I did a lot of research on undergraduate but never did any research on Med school and i have absolutely no idea where to start

      I think you mean associates degree Bc there’s no way you graduate high school with a bachelor’s degree

      Maybe try to get into college first before you think abt med school

      @@MinhTran-ib8zx actually there is a way to get a bachelors degree in high school. if i wasn’t graduating high school a year early then i would be graduating with my diploma and bachelors degree. also i’m worried about med school simply because i will be testing for the MCAT in less than 2 years and i would like to be prepared off the process. thank you for minding my business tho

      @@laniabaker9161 girl there’s literally no way you can graduate high school with a bachelor’s degree. You can’t get a diploma while also simultaneously completing 130 college credits to obtain a bachelors. Also it’s “thank you for minding your* business” not my, my doesn’t even make sense

    • @MinhTran-ib8zx
      @MinhTran-ib8zx 3 года назад +2

      @@laniabaker9161 girl try and graduate high school before focusing on med school. You shouldn’t be worrying abt the MCAT rn, plus your extracurriculars are much more important and if you’re supposedly gonna graduate with your bachelors when you graduate high school, you’re gonna need to still go to college Bc on the AMCAS you need letters if recommendations from your premed advisor and professors, but also you need to have attended a university.

    Would admission committees be forgiving for lack of extra curriculars like shadowing, scribing and volunteering due to COVID??

    • @MedEdits
      @MedEdits  4 года назад +2

      Of course - medical schools know nearly all opportunities have been canceled. Many schools will have secondary essays asking how COVID impacted your education and experiences. Good luck!

      Our focus is US schools. It is very difficult to gain acceptance to US medical schools as international citizen.

      Focus on taking the most rigorous classes offered by your highschool.
