Indians today do not hate the modern day British people. We welcome them with the same passion as we welcome other foreigners.
But the modern day Britain still causes problem to my beloved country by poking it's dirty nose into India's internal matters. They just can't leave India alone.
I'm Canadian and born in 1993, and I had a similar moment to you learning about apartheid when I learned about residential schools and their impacts on Indigenous peoples. I never heard a WORD about them until 2018, and the last residential school closed in *1996*. The trauma is still so recent, and so many people in my country still don't even know.

Indians still get bullied by police same way. They can even kill people in custody and nobody can't do anything. Indians need to realise it, you need your own police and law framework.
