So miss my fireball, would love to be able to do this just once more but at 70 years old I guess I will have to wait untill I get to heaven, then I only hope we can sail when we get there !!!
Admired Fireballs and some brilliant sailors, decades ago. Lovely timber boats, then. Have been watching some recently with admiration and curiousity. Never sailed them, 420's, eon's ago. Just trying a Laser 'ILCA' again following 20+ year dinghy 'gap', focused and challenging, but still admiring Fireballs over all the new marketed designs.
Yes crewed on a fireball, out on the wire ,the spinney beneath you, nothing like it its such a panoramic view up .I bought the boat but never as exciting as being crew.
Yeah well the RS classes arent so popular in my country, the RS vision is about the only RS ive seen here. Still it seems like a fun boat but it came like a surprise to me that its the most popular Max McCarroll
Sailed quite a few classes of dingy but the Fireball just is amazing had the best time of my life sailing these,as crew I reckon you get the best deal LOL !!! Foot against the base of the shroud, spinney out ah nothing better, well almost !!

Be sure to post the event and I'll be there too. Loved ours back in mid 70s.
Loved sailing Fireballs, and loved it on the wire.

I have such good memories sailing with Patricia Riley in 1978, God what fun!!
When I can't sleep I think of crewing a fireball.
wow. And I thought crewing a Snipe was intense. Those Fireballs are like 1/3 Snipe, 1/3 Laser, 1/3 sky-diving. I need one!
Excellent video. Love Fireballs.
Excellent. Speed sailing.
Never heard of the class before, looks like fun though :)
most successful class worldwide actually
Giant Scale Really? I thought the most successful would be the Opti or Laser
SportSoulLife see it as a RS500 with a symmetric spinnaker and about 30yrs older
