This would have been really, REALLY helpful at the beginning of the latest project me and my team are developing in Laravel. I'm the single point of contact in my company for all the requirements, and I was the one who gathered/structured the existing data from our existing applications. If I would have had Directus 6 months ago when we started it would have saved us so much time. I could have modeled the database with only minimal input from a DBA. All of our data could be in the database right now and development would be much further along. I could have prototyped much of the application and transitioned to Laravel (handing it off to the developers) when the front end was pretty well mapped out. I'm definitely going to start with Directus next time I'm in a situation like this. TBH, I'm wondering if the entire thing could have been done in Directus from start to finish.

Honestly this totally vibes with how I felt when I first learn about Directus - almost slightly mad that I hadn't heard about it before. Good thing is you're here now and it's only getting better as time goes on. -Kev

How to save 3rd party api data in data models?

Can we have a series how to implement conditional filters? I have a ebook api. There are three book categories: free - availble to all users, bought - availble to buyers, subscription - availble to buyers who bought monthly subscription. I want the restful api to send the ebook text, if one of the conditions are met. From what I read in the docs it seems to need to use filters, but I have no idea where to set those up. Would really appreciate it if you could make a video on such usecase in Directus. If possible with Redis! Much thanks! Your tool looks great and performance look also nice.

You use filters at the time of making an API request with a standard HTTP query parameter, GraphQL, or via the SDK.

@@DirectusVideos I want to apply the filters at the api and not on the client side, otherwise you could hijack that api key and rewrite the rules.

This app really have a potential. However, how would I go about migrating from let say Wordpress to Directus? Sometimes I already have a database in MySQL that have a large quantities of data, would it be possible to migrate model and data to Directus? Like running a query on DB, or migrating the model and manually import data?

You can configure Directus to connect to any existing SQL database - our docs have a self hosted config section that shows all the environment variables you can set to achieve this :)
