    I have the i10 in UK and find the automatic box the nearest thing to driving an electric car. To me it's a city car and if I was doing motorway trips and other long journeys I would buy something different. Driven around town at times other than rush hour the economy to me is not too bad. If you anticipate the road ahead you can make your use of the brakes minimal and boost the fuel economy. Hyundai dealer service is expensive in UK so next one at six years old it will be serviced at an independent shop at half the price. Looking at your i10 I see dust is a problem and heat in the UK it's wet and the road salt in the winter that's the problem. I'm happy with mine and intend to keep it till it dies.

    Hi Sujoy, do you recommend buying a used grand i10 sports manual transmission 2019.
    Car is just 15,000 km driven so far.
    Few points which i have a question related to grand i10:
    1. Some people sat yhat the dashboard is positioned on a hogher side so it can cause problem for shorter passenger.
    What could be the drivers ideal height so that this problem is not observed.
    2. Mileage in city and Highway conditions.my usage is on the liwer side though as i am a new driver.
    3. Lifeless steering feedback.
    4. Should etios liva 2017 dual tone petrol be preferred over grand i10

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  23 дня назад

      Fairly reliable engine so 15000kms is not much at all. I have seen drivers from 5" to 5"8 drive this without any concerns. Mileage in city should be 10-11km/l (minimum for Manual), highways maybe 14-15km/l, but definitely not as fuel efficient as Maruti 1.2L engines.

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  23 дня назад

      Steering feedback is not great on many Hyundai cars, it's not lifeless, it's slightly weirdly weighted because of the EPS algorithm, definitely not going to be great for an enthusiast or experienced driver, but perfectly fine for most people doing city drives. Etios is also good, probably a little simpler in design, simpler interiors, but probably more reliable because of Toyota badge.

      What's your opinion on buying Ritz 2013 petrol vxi (doctor owned) as a used car to practice driving (I had learnt to drive last year through driving school but as you might know there are very limited sessions in driving school).
      The main reason for buying a used car is to gain confidence in driving and occasionally use it for travel if required with family later on.
      What's your opinion just, the ritz is well maintained with proper service history up to date. Should I go with it or go with a grand i10 automatic or manual ?

    Hi Sujoy
    Thanks for the great video and explanation about the fuel efficiency, AT(TC) vs AMT and everything.
    I am also planning to buy used car for my family and given we are new to driving and hence planning to buy Automatic only.
    We kept our budget to 4-5 lacs only and for this We are getting Grand i10, Swift, Baleno in options in market.
    Grand i10 Asta(O) AT 2016 (July) 77K driven we are getting for 4 Lacs.
    Can you please advise if its a good option to go for or any advise on any other Car Brand/Model.
    Thank you in advance.

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  4 месяца назад

      Definitely a good car with most positives mentioned in the video., Slightly lower fuel efficiency. Would recommend getting a transmission fluid, filter change if you buy a car with 77k Kms, since that way, you can easily drive the car without fear of reliability issues.

    • @SujoyShivde

      Thanks for the prompt response. Really Appreciate the inputs.
      Yeah Sure, will make sure to change Transmission fluid and filter as advised.
      And yes, about Baleno i have also heard build quality is little compromised. But given that has better seating space and increased ground clearance and plus CVT. I am confused because Safety is also important . Baleno 2017 model 80K driven we are getting for 5.10 Lacs.
      So what’s your final take Grandi10 Asta (O) AT 2016 vs Baleno Zeta AT 2017. Both driven same Kms. Or if i am not making it more complicated, what about Honda Jazz CVT 2016 70Kms .
      Btw, Keep making such great videos. Thanks

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  4 месяца назад

      @gauravarora8435 Jazz is also a good option. Again, CVT will need some care, like a proper CVT oil change, but Honda CVTs are quite good, so shouldn't be a huge concern. All three are good options, Jazz being the highest on safety, followed by Grand i10, followed by Baleno being lowest. City driving wise, all are great choices. Fuel efficiency should be best on Baleno, followed by Honda (similar to Baleno) and last would be Grand i10. If you do more highway driving, I'd pick Jazz over Grand Baleno, but I'd say, all are great choices. Just make sure to have every vehicle inspected by a mechanic, for any potential issues like Oil Leaks, coolant leaks, etc. Get all operating fluids replaced, like Oil, Coolant, Filters, Automatic Transmission Fluid etc and you'd then be overall looking at a reliable car for the next many years

      No the point I meant to stress is the older i10 was a lighter car than the Grand, and so the same engine gearbox was faster on that car. Umm, you might get better mileage on a Civic due to the 5th Speed and if the City is a CVT, it might do better mileage wise. The Verna back then was also a 4 Speed AT, so expect similar mileages as Hyundai engines of that time were not the best at fuel efficiency

      Brezza is not a DCT. Brezza comes with a 4 Speed Torque Converter. The Nexon has an AMT as of now, but it is rumoured that they're launching a DCT in the next few weeks as teaser posts are already live. Brezza is very lightly and weakly built vs a Tata Nexon, which is regarded by many as a safe car. That being said, the Brezza gearbox torque converter gearbox is smooth to drive around, but it's not the best gearbox for highway driving where you'd miss the 5th Gear Ratio. The Nexon AMT has slow shifts Vs a torque converter but the fuel effiency will be better as torque converters give relatively low Fuel Efficiency

      @SujoyShivde  4 года назад +1

      Hi. Sure. Will try and make a fresh review on the Santro AMT. I drove it before the lockdown, and found it to be a very comfortable city car. The hydraulic Hyundai AMT is way smoother than say a Celerio AMT. The 4th cylinder also helps with engine refinement and the Santro Petrol felt like a Mini Grand i10. Which other cars were you considering?

    • @hotesh
      @hotesh 4 года назад +1

      Hi Sujoy, I am thinking about kwid, wagonR and celerio and Tiago cars. I would like to know which car is better in build quality, after sell service, features, mileage, performance, comfort wise which car you will prefer. As per me in above all criteria Santro wins but if you can help me, thank you 🙏.

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  4 года назад +2

      Hi sir. From the point of build quality, Tiago wins the round with Santro and WagonR lying close second. I have a Swift Dzire, but I find the i10 more better built and so for build, I'd pick the Santro over a Wagonr. After sales experience will vary depending on where you stay, but Hyundai and Maruti are two of the best car companies in India when it comes to good service and service costs for both of these will be near about the same. Do try and enquire about Service Centre reviews for Tata in your area as lately even they are doing well. Renault I'm not that confident as a vehicle and even service as Nissan Renault are not doing well in India. I believe Tiago, Celerio being 3 cylinder will offer slightly more efficiency in the city, but the Santro engine feels more refined and offers a little less vibration thanks to the extra cylinder. WagonR has the tallest driving position but comfort in other cars is also reasonable for upto 4 passengers. Do let me know me what you think. I think you should list down your priorities as they will help you eliminate some aspects in this comparison. If build is the highest, then the Tiago will lead. If proven reliability and good service all India is your thing then Maruti and Hyundai won't go wrong as network is incredible.

    • @hotesh
      @hotesh 4 года назад +1

      Again thank you very much for your reply, I will use car mainly in city in bumper to bumper traffic and very rarely go to my hometown near Dombivali. So after reading your reply I think Santro amt is best option for me in that price range. I had tata car before and sold it due to worst service experience. Only few problems in Santro might be its window control buttons position and lack of passenger air bag and lack of the parking sensors and camera even in sports version. Hope that 1.1 ltr engine will be good enough for 4 people and will get millage around 15.

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  4 года назад +1

      Don't worry about Parking Camera. You will be able to get it installed later. Mileage will depend on the traffic condition, but yes, you might be able to get 13-14 km/l with AC on. Sportz AMT has Passenger Airbags. It also has Rear Camera and Sensors. Sportz AMT is the best variant in my opinion

      No, there isn't a software hill hold, but for most moderate slopes, the transmission manages just fine without it. It doesn't crawl back like an AMT. Only when the slope is fairly extreme and I'm driving with 5 passengers, I prefer using the handbrake to assist the gearbox and reduce the strain

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  2 года назад +1

      @@harshalparadkar4114 sir Please don't call me sir. Again, this depends on how much the slope is and how many passengers you have on board. Unlike a manual car which will scarily move backwards on a stop and go situation on a slope, this one will manage to inch forward on most occasions. Only in extreme scenarios, you might need some handbrake assistance. For the most part, it is very easy to drive this on slopes in traffic, and you shouldn't have trouble driving this torque converter gearbox. Do take a test drive if you're considering it to see how it behaves in your traffic condition. Also, the points I refer to are specific to the 4 Speed torque converter automatic. The AMT now offered should be different at dealing with slopes. Hope this helps

    Hi Sujoy sir, thank you for your detailed videos on Grand i10 automatic. I am in the market for an used car, you have mentioned that your gearbox transmission failed, I am bit skeptical now, could you please tell us in which year of ownership it happened and what caused it to fail so early? • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  3 года назад +3

      Hi, gearbox did not fail in service. There was an oil leak presumably due to some external damage, which was not rectified and corrected by the dealership promptly even after informing them. This led to the gearbox causing a jerk since it was dry run by the dealership personnel. Hyundai couldn't solve the issue after multiple efforts and so Hyundai replaced this gearbox in warranty. Most torque converters do not fail easily and the Hyundai gearbox is fairly reliable. Hope this explains. We still have the car and it drives just like new, smooth shifting as ever. Since you're curious, the price of a brand new gearbox assembly is about 2.3L rupees. This is something you don't have to worry about though. It's a great engine gearbox. Hope this helps.

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  2 года назад

      A good torque converter doesn't have problems almost anywhere. On most moderate hills, the car doesn't even roll back. On severe slopes, it might be a little helpful to use the handbrake in stop and go. If you need more control, you can always use the Manual Mode and slot in D1-D2 for better pickup

      @SujoyShivde  2 года назад

      Nios is an AMT, but Hyundai have calibrated it well to handle slopes well. That being said, an AMT still is a little weaker on hills compared to a proper Torque Converter automatic like the previous gen. I'd say, get a test drive in your daily road conditions and see how the AMT behaves

    • @SujoyShivde
      @SujoyShivde  4 года назад +1

      Hi, the car you saw in the video is a Polo 1.2MPI. The total cost of spares is not that high and if you service outside with correct lubricants and spares, you should not encounter problems. New car owners need to service this car in authorised showroom where the labour cost is high and so there is a perception that it's expensive to maintain these. Spare parts are readily available pan India from sites like Boodmo etc and also local part shops. In fact in Mumbai itself there is a pan India VW part distributor by the name Saral Trading. Some critical parts are expensive, but in normal scenarios if the vehicle is in good condition you will not have to bear the high cost of that. Liva Diesel will be more reliable, because Toyota is a very reliable carmaker. The build of the Liva is not as strong as Polo, but other than that, Liva might just be more comfortable to own and maintain.
