  • Let's continue our flight north, into the Canadian Arctic.
    From YVO - Val-D'Or we cross the Hudson bay up to YRT - Rankin Inlet where it's freezing cold as we unload passengers and cargo.
    Captain Denis Chaput keeps you informed as he pilots the classic B737-200 northbound.
    We're also visiting the cabin where the crew prepares and serves the meals.

    These films are absolutely brilliant, thank you so much. When I grow up I want to work for Nolinor... trouble is, I forget I'm 60! They seem very efficient, professional and practical. Thank you to Nolinor also :)

    Nice oldie goldie. 2014 based on Captain’s conversation. That mine in Meadowbank has been closed probably 5 years.

      OH, has it? Didn't know that. I filmed this back in 2013 👍

    Captain’s an inspiring pilot, extensive experience, now with a long ‘post-retirement’ career! The snowy takeoff roll was unlike anything usual and was no deicing required?

    • @VikingWings
      @VikingWings  3 года назад

      Yes, that is a long and sweet career. He's flewn them all 👍 As far as I remember we didn't do any de-icing, that's correct. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

    So what's the benefit from waiting until your on the runway ready to take off to get your ATC clearance and do your before take off check list? I would think the best time to do that would be at the gate or in the taxi to the runway? Great video! I love the classic 737-200.
    To look at what's become of the 737 design now to what its initial design intention was, sad.

      Thank you. Thanks for watching. I think it depends on the ATC. Maybe there is a better explanation...

    • @ME-cm5kd
      @ME-cm5kd 2 года назад +2

      It appears in this case that ATC was changing their clearance, so as to save time, they taxi to the runway knowing the clearance would be coming shortly. Then once they get it, away they go.
