The fact of the matter is Floor Jansen is the best singer Nightwish has ever had. Not just the opera singer or the pop singer playing with a metal band, she bring all styles while remaining true to the core genre. She is the most versatile, humble and powerful of all not to mention hot as well lol. Nightwish is now complete.
The way Floor infused true emotion into everything she sings, whether acoustic and stripped back or crunching and visceral, will never cease to amaze me. It is frankly what separates her from virtually all other great vocalists. She makes you feel what she is singing. Imagine sitting there as her accompaniment as Troy did - must be so cool. He did a great job as well, of course. Not sure how he focuses...I would be staring with my mouth agape
Truth is, Tarja probably loves this too. I'm just glad I don't wear mascara... 😉 And I am going to start collecting takeaway menus and cereal boxes to test the theory that Floor can sing anything. She makes it so bloody hard to fall out of love with her (which I couldn't - with all respect to Hannes 👍)!
It keeps coming back to the mind of Tuomas - all 3 women have sung this song brilliantly with the band, this streamlined version is brilliant, the Beste Zangers cover by Tim Akkerman was brilliant. Give artists wonderful art and see what they do with it!
Nemo is a true classic from Tarja's era. As we all know it tells a touching story about a missing little clownfish 🐠....😉. Seriously. This version is touching but also powerful. Floor's vocals are top notch. Not only due to her hippie jacket there's a fine campfire touch in it. Thank you and be well.
@@matofako1 i know! It's about electric powered huge submarine named Nautilus, whose captain was captain Nemo (Jules Verne, you know). It's all of that and also something else.
Tuomas Holopainen, the composer, has stated that the title is Latin for "nobody" and the song is based on his occasional feelings of being lost, longing for the past and feeling nameless.[5] This contradicts speculations that the song simply borrows on a Nemo character of an earlier work, such as J. Verne's Captain Nemo, Homer's Ulysses alias Nemo, C. Dickens’ Captain Hawdon alias Nemo, W. McCay's Little Nemo, or the Disney Studio's film Finding Nemo. Asked about that T. Holopainen responded:[5] Not the fish! I cannot believe how everyone seems to be convinced it’s that. Nemo, which is Latin for "nobody," has nothing to do with the Disney film. It revolves around the feelings I have from time to time. I feel nameless and do not know who I am or where I will go. I only know my past and I long to be back there. The song is about being lost, not knowing where to go or what to do, yet desperate for everything in life. That’s not always me, but when I wrote Nemo, that’s the way I felt. Now I feel better. Wise men say: "Avoid irony in the Net." I didn't obey. Sorry. Tuomas's mind is as deep as the Ocean (so somewhere there are also hiding a little clownfish and a giant submarine. Oh f***k, I did it again...). I take my coat...☺
I tried to share the song with my kid's mom. she didn't even make it to the first chorus before turning it off, "I don't care for it". can't imagine why we aren't a couple anymore...
I just love that we have from same NW song different versions. Might be different vocalist, or album version, or live version, or year version, metal version or acoustic version. And I like that NW is doing changes to their songs (specially Floor try different things).
Yes, they are my favourite band. This technically isn't a reaction per say, which is why I do a "favourite Friday" to share bands I love with you guys. :)
Perfect, Floors voice with accoustic guitar is just stellar; same like in 'Bridle Passion' from her solo show. And it's totally cool to love both versions with Tarja and Floor. We should be the lucky ones to have both. Stay safe and Take care.

Hey Tauri, great version that one but I agree with you about Nemo, it will always be a Tarja song for me too, like ghost love score has become forever a Floor song now. If you like Nemo acoustic version I highly suggest the muziekcafe acoustic version of the song. For me it's even better than this one with Troy!
Here is a similar version that Floor performed in her solo shows. This is a registration from a Dutch saturday radio show with audience. Enjoy! ruclips.net/video/sXzVhCTTJ2c/видео.html
Floor is a great singer. She is the Valkyrie Queen. However, I've heard only one song from the repertoire written for tarja that sounds better performed by Floor. And there is a ghost love score. And I'm talking about the performances of the originals, not the pieces changed for Floor. Which they never did for Anette.
NO ONE HAS EVER REACTED TO THIS SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE Here's a crazy good live performance Jinjer did early in their career. It's a song you haven't heard and no one has ever done a reaction to this particular performance. Tatiana goes off in it. She does very well but I couldn't agree more on the Tarja song. Nemo was one of the first songs from nightwish I ever heard. Also don't forget to tip your witcher
I fully agree with @PageMonster; the emotions Floor transports are unique. She does not even have to belt or go in operatic mode. It's the tone or timbre of her voice that goes directly in your heart.

song is not about the fish

Those who feel Pekka is being serious about Nemo being about the fish, obviously didn't see the little winky emoji. They aren't being serious.

Really good. Without all the band music, you can hear the Dutch tones in her voice and it was really nice.

I just love this version ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love the original too🤘💯🤘

I do adore that Floor doesn't straight up copy the older songs, she makes them her own. :)
I really hope I can see Nightwish this autumn. Next Friday their new album is going to be released, I can hardly wait^^
I can't wait either! 🤘
Nice one Tauri, I'm not sure but think you like Nightwish........me too, love the song have a nice weekend.
