      My Romanian mother in law always added sauerkraut to her stuffed cabbage sauce, so I add it to this type of soup too. Once you have it like this, it will seem bland without it.

    I looked at so many different videos for CRS, your demeanor is so very refreshing and very different from the airheads who usually do this on camera. You are so more relaxed and less fussy than the affected fingernail gals. You also taste the food as Jacques Pépin recommends, l believe this is terribly important! He was asked in an interview which he thought was more important in cooking, technique or taste. Jacques said there are many chefs with great technique who know how to run a kitchen and know how to manage a restaurant, but if they don’t taste the food, they aren’t as good as home cooks who taste their food and correct their cooking.

    I have made this type of soup, also I make golabki. Our family also makes a casserole of meatballs and cabbage wedges with the tomato gravy when we don't have the time to roll up the cabbage. It quick and satisfies our crave for comfort food.

    I'm so excited! I'm a soup lover and if this is anything like the cabbage roll recipe you make, I'll be a happy girl. That was one of, if not THE favorite recipe find for me last year. I need to get this made before full-on summer hits and I'm less enthused about making hot soup in 37°C/100°F temps.

    I "improvise" most of the time when I'm cooking, rarely using measuring devices. Frequently I wish I had "filmed" the process when something came out fairly amazing. However, I am sure the presence of a camera would completely destroy my cooking mojo. :-) I really enjoy your videos!

    looks yummy. we make something similar here in Pennsylvania, in the heart of the Anthracite region, called Piggie soup. Ingredients are the same but we finish it with thickening. heat up s ome bacon, or just bacon fat in a cast iron pan. addd a few tablespoons of dicced onion and saute to soft. sprinkle some flour and borwn slightly. ladle a scoop of the soup liquid to frying pan. heat to bubbling. pour all that yummy goodness back into soup pan, adds another level of flavor into the soup.

    I love cabbage roll soup and so does my family. It's a lot less work than cabbage rolls but tastes very similar. I also add a bit of brown sugar with all the spices just to break up the sour taste of the tomato sauce and paste a little bit.

    That looks absolutely delicious, and I think I have all the ingredients on hand!! Perfect! A friend of mine from work years ago introduced me to Vegeta seasoning. I have never seen you use it, but is it still popular in Poland? I recently bought some on Amazon and love to add it to soups and sauces. Have you decided to shelf the "Kitchen's Closed" segments of your channel? Has the pandemic still have Poland locked down restaurant wise?
    Hope all is well! Take care!!

    • @PolishYourKitchen
      @PolishYourKitchen  3 года назад +1

      Vegeta is a touchy subject. 😉 Some people swear by it and some absolutely refuse to use it in the kitchen (me), as it's considered as "cheating". It's mainly salt, turmeric and a few other spices.
      Everything opened back up here in Poland as of this week. We hope to get out and do some filming soon.

    Not sure about this one, as rice or pasta i find, swell in soup overnight ?
    BUT I did this week try the pea +
    smoked sausage/ham soup from your range and it was DELISH.
    A real comfort meal.
    It has now firmly joined my repertoire !! Best wishes

    • @PolishYourKitchen

      I will definitely swell. That's why 1/4 c of rice for this large pot is plenty. 😉
