That was a beautiful, heartfelt reaction. I'm very glad that you happened upon the song and got to see how Dan handled his own heartbreak over Chester. This one was done in the actual time frame that you both mentioned (it was posted on 07/23/2017). Dan has also done other quite emotional tributes. A little over a year before this one, Dan posted (on 03/09/2016) "Heart Of Steel" - MANOWAR cover." At that time, he was fighting his own depression (which I would think might have had a lot to do with the fact that his father was fighting cancer, not to mention that his mother was battling Alzheimer's Disease). His very heartrending intro for that song is in Brazilian Portuguese, but you can turn on the CC to translate it. The song itself is SO full of pathos, and at the end, he hangs his head and fades to black. Only a couple of months after Chester Huntington's death, Dan's father passed away after losing his battle with the cancer. On 10/09, 2017 (just five days after his dad died) Dan posted a tearful tribute to him (Elvis' American Trilogy). He talks about why he chose the song, in his PINNED comment for the video. On 11/24/2017, Dan posted "Back In Black" - AC/DC cover (RIP MALCOLM YOUNG). A little over a year later, a lady named Annie sent him a message asking if she could use the Trilogy song for the upcoming funeral of her husband Robert (who was terminally ill). Dan introduced the song, telling about how he got that message, and what he did in return. That song is Elvis' "Love Me Tender," posted on 03/19/2019. He also paid tribute to Andre Matos, who died of a sudden heart attack. His "ANDRÉ MATOS Tribute" is at the end of "Carry On," posted on 06/10/2019. This is the heart that Dan has. Some songs require more note differentials then Dan can provide... like when he sang Celine Dion & Michael Jackson. Dan's notes are very basic & monotone... too clean cut so to speak. Sometimes sounding very much like a good Karaoke singer. 🤷♀So as much as yawl like him... its not "doing a song justice" unless they sing it equally as good or better. Yawl REALLY think this was on the same level or as good as Chester?? NO... And don't come for me just cuz you idolize Dan. Just cause he's good, doesn't mean he's the greatest. And everyone is allowed their own opinion. If it makes you literally mad... your a real weirdo.
