- The act “To Build a Home” is inspired by Amanda's journey creating a space for herself in the air. She left behind her intensive training as a dancer to embark upon a road towards becoming comfortable in her new aerial surroundings after having spent years expressing herself on the ground. Her place of training, The Circus Lab, was built on the pillars of inspiration, creation, and innovation in the circus arts. The school aims to challenge local and international students of all abilities to discover their talents and push their skill-sets to reach beyond simply copying the skills they are taught. Through exploration, students innovate upon current techniques and add their personalities, skills, and experiences to their work, creating distinct expressions of the circus arts. Amanda’s creation is the result of such work in combining her dance skills and circus training into an act that she hopes will inspire others to combine their talents to discover a means to innovate.
Amanda Wormald is a 15 year old Artist Formation Program student at The Circus Lab, a circus school located in Langley, BC. Amanda trains upwards of 18 hours a week in the circus arts, with the hopes of becoming a professional circus artist. She performs locally and internationally, presenting her work at events ranging from community events to circus festivals. Ever since discovering the circus arts at The Circus Lab two years ago, her passion for this new form of expression has not stopped growing, and has led her to the become the emerging aerial artist she is today.

more people need to know that this song exists. it helped me through a really tough time. it inspires and guides people; opens their eyes and makes them think and believe in one thing: themselves. like it did to me. she did such a beautiful job protraying this song, showing both grace and strength with her body, and mind. stunning work!

After commenting on this video, i've watched several more "sky dance artists", but I haven't seen anyone as moving, and as effortless as this girl. You are amazing.
How accurately she moves along the music is just perfect. She makes every movement matches the beat and feeling to the music, which is so pleasant to watch! Never seen an aerialist who does that like her. Just a perfection.

One of the most beautiful silk performances I’ve seen. One thing I’ve always noticed about such performances is the distraction of foot locking, splitting the fabrics, etc. It almost kills the mood. She incorporated these moves perfectly creating such a seamless performance.
That fall at 5:08 was incredible! The whole routine was just beautiful!
somehow i went from AGT videos to World of Dance videos to other aerial acts like these... and of the aerial dancers I've seen, she makes it not only graceful, not just "almost effortless" but she actually added clear artistic components. I don't know the difficulty level of this routine compared to other silk acts, but I felt she actually captured a feeling.

That's a huge problem within competition dancers. They don't know how to act, which is a huge part of dancing. They are told to just smile, no matter what the dance is about.
This made me really miss being on the silks. I had to stop because of an injury but I never felt more free or excited than when I was tumbling down out of a wrap x
